Hey guys... i was looking for the old Gaia Towns District thread... but i cant find it anywhere...
anyways, since i have some gold to spare, i have been looking for stuff today, to add to my house, to do something to do with Towns.
so, my questions are:
1. is the old thread still here somewhere? (if so, please PM me the link and delete this one...)
2. is anyone still planning on doing this in towns? it would be awesome to have a steampunk district, we could chat live while RP'ing then...

Lord Ashen Im fairly new to the site, where do you go to find the steampunk district? if youve used Gaia Towns before, you'll know how to navigate between areas (using the map, you can select an area to travel to instantly, these areas are made up of 9 smaller panels with houses) each of these areas is a district. we were planning on buying a completely empty one a while back, then getting loads of people to move their houses there. it would be our own area. we were planning on having people make their houses into Pubs, Airships, Shops, etc.

It happened a while ago. We "reserved all of the houses in a district by using mule accounts. What we found out though, was that as soon as the mule houses are vacated the spaces fill up almost instantly and the guildmembers who were trying to move in are blocked. There's handful of houses that actually made it. I don't know where the original thread went, but my house is in the district so you can visit my place if you want to check it out.

Odd question...do you think that if we contacted the Gaia admins as to our intentions to establish a "guild community" in Towns they would be willing to work with us to facilitate such an act? As an alternative...would it be possible to somehow bribe nonmembers to vacate? Though I admit the latter might be a losing battle, as we could very well end up paying off users to leave, only to have new interlopers take their place.

We've politely asked people who took the spaces to move, even offering to pay the 1000g fee for the move. We were either ignored or as soon as they moved the same thing happened; new houses take the spots instantly. I can't imagine Gaia admins responding to a request like that. I'm sure they have plenty of stuff to do on their own besides babysitting a district until it's filled by whoever we want. It just doesn't sound like something Gaia would support, even if we could get them to pay attention.

Then why don't we establish a community out in the boonies somewhere? I'm sure none of us would really mind, and it would be easier.

You'd have to have it far out enough that it wouldn't be filled by the time we all moved there.
