Storyline
As humans began to progress more into the darker era, they also began noticing some very large differences in the human race. People began to starve for food, and turned into the very darkness they were living in. Wielding a longer life span, and sharper canines than any normal human, these were known as Vampires. They could suck the blood out of any living animal, killing them nearly instantly.
Many documents were trying to be preserved and studied in fables and fairytales of vampires, but the vampires were keeping the study of them to a minimum, usually lashing out in heated battle. After the humans tried uprising, most of the vampire population was cut down, and others were stripped of their adapted DNA. Now, vampires are considered a rare species, and some humans even try to preserve them, as in a wildlife preserve, or some other way to keep remnants of the race alive. There are also humans who want to let them live among us.
There are many more vampires that have kept their heritage unknown, or others that are in hiding. There are still First Race Vampires in hiding, many producing young vampires and Halfling vampire humans. The control of the Vampires is trying to be over come by the Second race.

Timeline
2009 - The world enters into a decade of turmoil, with wars everywhere and much of the population killed or brutally harmed.
2012 - After the war was entrenched through the most numbing of circumstances, many humans have started living underground, in the sewers and in even deeper underground cities. Many countries were dotted with primitive underground resources and living grounds.
2014 - Many underground citizens start to adapt to the underground ways, their vision sharpening in the dim lighting, and their bodies becoming more stable to resist bacterial infections and their bodies grow stronger.
2015 - After the younger races begin to adapt easier than the older, many of the humans underground start dying off either from starvation or disease. The most populated underground city is under Kansas City.
2017 - The war is coming to an end, with the United States, Canada, and Britain teaming up. Most of the citizens from other ally countries were brought to live in the United States.
2019 - Being only used to the darkness, and living off of raw food and dirty water, the younger civilization comes out with the older. Some people lived in cleaner territories, so they did not have to defend internally against things that others did.
2020 - After soon realizing they cannot live outside very long, it damaging their sensitive eyes, the vampires all exclude themselves in their homes and apartments, mostly living in cities.
2021 (February) - The craving for blood comes to them, now, since their food is safe and water clean. First experiments start out on dead carcasses, then move on to live animals. Loving the taste of blood so much, one tried to start on another human. After that human was killed, the race of humans arrested him swiftly and searched out others just like him. After finding many of the first race of vampires, they kill, research, and study them. Once they are sure the vampire race is wiped out, they can rebuild their cities without retribution
2021 (June) - After many hunts of the First Race, they take their offspring and mates to the desolate underground cities. The humans all assume that the vampires are hunted out, and continue rebuilding, much faster, now.
2022 ( November) - There are humans who have planned excavation, research, and study on the underground. They are assembling a search party, now.
