Of course! Though I'll have to say...my manga is kind of like my anime. I don't read just everything.
Though I am more into the "common" ones these days.
Currently I'm reading: Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler) and Soul Eater. Though my top faves that I've read so far would be Nightmare Inspector, Death Note, King of Thorn, King of Bandits Jing: Twilight Tales, and Absolute Boyfriend. x3

We have anime and manga so now we're set! XD
Now I officially didn't get any manga until I got into anime. I was in Barns and Nobel looking over countless books being bored out of my mind. Mom told us if we found a book we could get it, but only one so I had to get one to read (I love reading).
Then all of a sudden I found X/1999 the manga and I was like "X/1999... isn't that an anime movie?" so I picked it up and looked it over. Of course I had to tell me sis and bro about it too! We looked over the mangas (which were called 'graphic novels' at the time we got them... they are now properly titled what they actually are now), but then just as we were looking over the titles mom told us that we had to leave and she was checking out right now so we had better grab if we want to read.
And in a rush guess what I grab out of impulse? If you didn't guess 'something with dragons' you don't know me at all v.v
Yes my very 1st manga is a story about dragons... I'm so predicable XD
It's called "Dragon Knights" and I have the complete manga series of it and love it to death. It is easily one of my favorite mangas of all time.
And right now the only manga I'm reading is One Piece... because I love ACE leave me alone! crying

Heh, I've never read X/1999 but I've see the anime. And at least you can remember your first manga. I don't even have a clue what my first manga was. I want to say it was Pretear, which is way better than the anime.
I read part of Dragon Knights a few years ago. My friend made me read them and though I remember I enjoyed it, I can't remember anything beyond a few character names.

yea the 1st few books are okay it isn't until she really mixes up the story expanding it and complexing it where it get good! She writes all these little stories that seem like "side stories" but turn out to be really important! It's brilliant writing!
I could never imagine doing anything like what she did... though I only have one problem with it- the ending... that could just burn -.-

*laughs* I wouldn't know. I never got to the end because my friend didn't have those last few manga. And it's been so long I can't remember anything and I had to read them rushed anyway 'cause she wanted me to read other stuff. So I had no time to let any of it soak in.
Though I know how endings like that are. Nightmare Inspector had an ending that I wasn't seeing coming. Even in the last manga as it got closer and closer to it...I was all "No way. They can't DO that!" and then it happened. I was so upset and totally went to whine at my friend who didn't have a clue what I was talking about. xD;

The thing that got me into manga was actually a video game. At the time I wanted to draw people but I didn't want them too cartoony but I couldn't draw realistic ones. My mum had got a huge amount of games and wanted me and my little brother to try them out. I was looking one of the booklets and found some interesting pictures that I wanted to draw. (At that age I wanted to draw anything I can find, I belive the game Was a final fantasy game.) Around 2 years later I found heaps of manga and my obsession just grew from there. ^^

You complained to a friend? Well that's better then me I complained for a whole entire week to my whole family and my friends who had no clue what I was talking about... I'm horrible XD
You should give it another go you'll really like it! Just avoid the last book lol

Final Fantasy rules! Er...some of it does.
Well, I whined and cried. I was thoroughly upset but yet surprisingly pleased with the ending. It must've been all the twists and turns through the series that made me feel as though it wrapped up nicely. That and the unexpected ending was...bittersweet.
Heh, I would never avoid seeing how something ends. I need to know how it turns out even if it isn't "good." I'd feel like something was off if I skipped it. It just wouldn't be right.
