Well Considering today I would like to explain. Unfortunatly because of this and my history I may be considered a Racist but at least hear me out. The slavery was Important for several things (Not just in America either) First because of the pian and sorrow the slaves had they produced a music known as the Blues. This is my favorite form of music smile . Then came Rock n' roll, which was created by a black comedian named Chuck Berry. It was also produced in a blues record studio. From rock n' roll to Classic rock artists looked back on what the blues musicians played and drew Inspiration from it. Eventually we had bands from England,Germany, and even Australia coming and making Rock. Can you name three Blues tunes done by Led Zepplin? Eventually Metal came from Rock, and if you have heard a metal band do a blues tune it sounds Excellent until the singer thinks it's death metal. So that was a global change right there. Then we have the Black Rights Movement. That was historic especially now when we have a black president, but without the leverage of the Black Rights Movement, Women's rights would not have been possible 'till much later. Now in the other hand you may be saying: "Was it worth the death of all those people?" I would reply: "There are 'Ethnic Cleanses' like clock work in Africa. Do we really want them to be killed by that more then by creating such an important history?"
That is why the Slavery was important to American history. Go ahead and call me a Racist if you wish but without the slavery we would not be the same, for worse or better.
