I think there are a lot of things about it that have changed for the good. Yet, a lot of things that have changed for the worse. In general i think gaia is getting better, but as soon as i step out of an area that i'm familiar with (certain threads) I feel overrun by n00bs who don't seem to get the whole feeling of gaia. At least for me gaia is about the forums and the people, and i feel that so many people are so obsessed with the whole avatar/gold system that they've lost the sight of getting to know people. Which i find extremely enjoyable, and one of the few reasons why i'm still here 3nodding

I meant that more as in context with all the users who are not about getting to know other people, or about the forums, but rather only about the gold and items. Mostly people hack/scam others out of pixels, rather than enjoying the forums for what they are; forums 3nodding

I agree with ambimie, Gaia is more fun if you treat it as a forum, place to meet with others, and a game on the side, have fun making the avatar to play with.

These I call "inexperienced users" or many know as n00bs, idiots and total dickheads, ruin it, trying only for thier gain at others expence, this ruins the fun that gaia is supposed to be.

It's chock-fulla shits who can't use english, and mules are everywhere. I still vote for a sweep of all accounts with like 0-10 posts in them.

I'm finally glad posts searches work now. It was back in November that I last saw them work without lag. domokun Other than that, I'm not too happy with any of the recent changes.


Also, I hate how unliberal Gaia's becoming. gonk Children under 13 shouldn't be allowed to complain how vulgar "********" is. They shouldn't even be on the website.

with so many users now theres no hope of knowing everyone on gaia. back in the old days there were still all the idiots, they were just not many, but as the site scaled up so did they.

the new layout definatly freaked me out first time I saw it, but Ive gotten used to it. I thinks its good the forum home page no longer tells you that there are new posts you havent read in say, barton town. cause no duh.
I also think that now that most of the store items are much more expencive than just that basic stuff we got way back when, coupled with as ambi was saying, for too many people its about the avatar and the gold, not the people, it has mad stuff like scamming and hacking much more of a problem. and with the addition of rooms where the furniture is gonna be MUCH more expencive (at least they say) I think that can only get worse. I do think the breedables has become a very wonderful addition to gaia, and I eagerly await the multiplayer fishing whee

EDIT: and of course, CIF is right. WAY too many mules. I dont have a problem with multiple accounts if you actually use all of them, like alter egos. but just mules must go.

Yea, I'm also sick of these new features Lanzer keeps adding. As much problems as Gaia is having with stability, he should stop making new stuff which only creates more problems and get the site's stability back up to par.


And yes, I'm sick of these annoying n00bs, is it so hard for them to read. The writers forum has subforums at the top of the page. Is it so damn hard for them to put poetry in a poetry subforum. How damn hard is that.

Mules suck, yet I have like six that I used to use for various things. Though I don't use them anymore.

And yea, I'm tired of people trying to pander s**t to people under 13, for the love of God, they have to have their parents permission to be on the site in the first place. I'm sorry, but I shouldn't be punished because somebody else's parents won't do their damn job. Hell, I think we should just not allow people under 13, expecially in places like extended discussion.

Plus, a lot of the things in the TOS have prevented us from effectivly removing idiocy from Gaia. In my opinion they're pandering way too ******** much to new people than giving a damn about the people who actually helped them start this place to begin with.

And yea, I remember back in the day, even in May, I knew at least 50% of the people on Gaia.


And crap, you mean we're going to have to put up with people making houses? What a wonderful waste of bandwidth. Then again, after we started the housing craze back about a year ago they've actually made a subforum for the crap now. In fact, I'm actually waiting for somebody to b***h about how my house is a misplaced thread even though it's been around since before Gaia even knew what a subforum was.
