Battle Time for Tovas!
Rolling for Syrie.
Tovas' 1st Turn!

Player 1 has encountered a(n) annoying Spriggan!

Tovas really did need to put a shirt on... After all, he might catch a death of cold wandering around half dressed. Or a death of ... beautiful tree girls?

As he walked towards the area of the new ruins - in fact, a crumbling pillar visible nearby - a rather short, but shapely woman stepped out into view. There was something odd about her though - considering upon closer inspection her skin seemed to be covered with leaves and bark, and branches twined out from under her hair.

Probably not Tovas' idea of a good time - not that it would have mattered. When she heard him (probably not very hard), she jumped up and screeched in an unknown tongue, skittering away from him.

Unfortunately, with a few flicks of her wrist she left a rather large wolf rushing at the Dunmer, jaws wide.

Roll your choice of battle skill before writing any post. If you get higher than me, you win, and may check the monster for loot (if you dare) during your next event roll. If you get lower, you lose 1HP (and the battle). Either way, make your next event roll.

(TRUSTY RUSTY BLADE BBY)

At first glance, the shapely female did seem to be something he might be interested in...but on closer inspection she grew less and less appealing. ******** wasn't precisely his cup of tea (there were exceptions...rarely).

The skittering-shouting-summoning happened quickly but he was able to draw his Trust Rusty Blade (tm) and fend off the initial attack from the warm-fuzzy pet that the Spriggan had set on him.

The battle continues, Tovas!

The wolf snarled, whimpering briefly as the Trusty Rusty Blade (tm) decided to meet with its jaws. It was a magical beast, however, the slight glow at its feet still lingering - so it knew no fear, only lunging at the Dunmer a second time.

(GO GO GADGET BLADE!)

Tovas grunted as the weight of the magical beast pushed his thin shoes back into the loamy earth; neither he nor the beast were willing to give way. But the creature pulled back and then snapped forward again, hoping to rend the Dunmer limb from limb and perhaps return to it's mistress with a nice meal of soft, tasty entrails in it's magical belly.

That wasn't to be, however. As the beast attacked a second time, Tovas faked to one side and swung his sword in the opposite direction - almost like it was a (moderately) sharp-edged baseball bat. The rusty blade bit into the magical creature and tore it in half; blood and ichor sprayed across the Dunmer's snarling face and down his body as the beast fell, slain.

Once he'd wiped his blade on the soggy ground as best he could, Tovas would scavenge the corpse for anything worth taking - gold...anything monetarily worth-while that might have been in it's stomach...or just a Trophy.

Big man wanted him some proof of kill!

After contemplating whether or not he wanted to cart around a gory wolf-head, Tovas finally decided that he would break out the beast's teeth and hack the tail from it's body. Those were fun tokens of the battle and wouldn't take up a helluva lot of room - so he would still be able to trudge onward without discomfort.

With a mental curse that he didn't have a blade that would let him skin the damned thing, Tovas got his a** moving again.

Tov's Been Roadblocked!
Rolling for Syrie.
Tovas' 2nd Turn!

Tovas has encountered a(n) bigass pile of rubble!

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
The ruins themselves were only a short hike away; Tovas' shoes would get caked with mud, however, and then rinsed off in nice, cold water as it became apparent that a good inch or two was already accumulating in the ruins. Good thing he got there early.

The stone of the building was crumbling here and there, but distinctly white. It looked sound enough ... looked, anyway.

The ruins opened up early into a grand hallway, or so it appeared; gold trimming glinted here and there, though high enough not to be easily accessible (or at all, for that matter).

Unfortunately, the view wouldn't stay that way for long; apparently so much for that "firm craftsmanship" as a section of the ceiling collapsed, leaving a high, unstable pile blocking the entry. There were likely other doors, of course ... unless he wanted to risk climbing over it. Or anything else, of course.

You may use any skill you can think of to bypass this problem. Otherwise, this turn is over and you must turn around - make your next event roll.

Walking through the ruins was certainly pleasing to the eye (well, it would have been if Tovas had been the sort of being to enjoy such things), but when he came to a big pile of rubble in his way, the Dunmer frowned deeper.

"Hmm.." For a few moments he paced the pile, mentally going over his options; eventually he decided it wasn't worth trying without proper equipment (that he'd had at one point but no longer did) and instead of trying to scale the obstacle, Tovas shrugged his shoulders and went to find another way in.

Surely there were other - easier ways.

A Discovery for Tovas!
Rolling for Syrie.
Tovas' 3rd Turn!

Tovas has nearly alerted everyone of their presence by falling over a locked chest!

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
Easier ways, certainly - though perhaps wetter ways. After a quick survey of the area, there was one other route in - a tiny side door, perhaps once an escape passage... or a slaves' entrance, if they were Aleyid ruins. Either way, however, a door was a door - though it was submerged to waist height. With a bit of tugging, however, it would come open, revealing the inside ...

... definitely Aleyid. The tell-tale eternal light enchantments still glowed here, casting pale blue light upon the area.

Though the water sloshed about at his thighs, Tovas could still move around easily enough - perhaps it would even be beneficial. It seemed as though this room might have been a store room at one point; most of the items were gone, and decorations missing or smashed, but there was a wooden chest on an eye-level shelf still intact. The wood was mostly sturdy, perhaps a few softer spots, but the lock itself was intact, only somewhat rusty.

Another half-open door lead farther into the ruin.

You may make a lockpicking roll if you wish to try and open the chest, or use any other skill that you think might help. Otherwise, this turn is over, make your next event roll.

(RUSTY BLADE TO THE RESC--er...yeah >_>
Srry, fubar'd previously. I BLAME CATS.)

Tovas slodged through the chilly water and twitched whenever his sloshing made the water kick up high enough to wet his balls. Still, it was a better option than trying to climb that pile...maybe kill himself trying. When he hauled the door open he peered at the softly-glowing lights - Yep. Aleyid. Interesting.

Further in, there was an old chest that he ran his hands along, feeling for the soft places in the old wood. The rusty lock he pretty much ignored - he was no lock-pick...he much preferred a more direct approach. Once more Tovas drew his blade and took a careful (okay, so really it was only careful in that he aimed), -INSERT AFTER ROLL- swing at the chest in the hopes of DEMOLISHING IT and taking whatever was inside.

Well it wasn't really like the chest could possibly be that solid after so many years ... though it was a lot more so than many chests might have been after centuries of humid air.

At any rate, the old thing collapsed under the weight of the ... mostly sharp enough sometimes blade, giving way to what was inside.

What was inside would probably please the Dunmer: a copper ring, worth 15 gp at the Argonian brothers' trade station, a pile of 11 gp, and a dark shirt - still intact too! Well, maybe better known as a tattered dark shirt, as a few bugs must have made their way in, but still. A shirt was a shirt, was it not? A total value of at least 30 gp!

Congratulations! No roll is needed here. Take what loot you want and make your next event roll!

The loot made him very happy, though the splinter(s) that he got (and pulled out with a growl) while trying to pick everything out of the shattered remains of the treasure chest made him slightly less so.

The gold went in his pouch with the ring and the shirt? Well, that he shook out to make sure it was clear of bugs or other vermin and then pulled over his head. Hell if he was going to carry the shirt out - he'd just wear the damned thing!

Once done, he looked around again before sloshing through the water again.

Tovas' 4th Turn!

Tovas has come across the one thing that adventurers love more than cheese ... lewt!

Past the door, the great hall could be seen again - as well as the collapsed rubble that had previously blocked his entrance. The hall was several times taller than him, with a great cluster of lights glowing at the top, still lighting it after so long.

There was little to be seen here except a spiralling staircase leading into the earth; rubble and broken chairs littered the ground. However, there was one thing of note - a shelf, along one wall, was still intact. On it was a book, with the title worn off, of questionable worth. He might be able to hawk it for 5 gp or so to a bookworm, though. There was also a small onyx gem - probably more familiar to him, with a standard worth of around 7 gp.

Congratulations! No roll is needed here. Take what loot you want and make your next event roll!
