After some research i uncovered an article describing the differences between the orginal concept for the movie and the film version. I must say the differences are dramatic. In the P880 version there is alot more on earth. In fact a good ten to twenty minutes would be on the Mechanical gray earth with no green.

Then the differences go in quite some odd twists that really develop the story. My favorite of which is a new character named Hegner. Hegner's story really goes into depth about what happens when an avatar dies. In the concept version ((elluded to in the movie)) Hegner commits avatar suicide permanently disabling one of the links in the lab. I found in the movie there is a link that is shut down and has the appearence of being dusty. Hegner did this because his Na'vi love was killed by the military.

Im not going to document every change because that would take alot of time and space i just merely want to get the knowledge out about the concept version. The link to the article is at the bottom. Check it out and post your thoughs below. The almost Avatar (P880)

Not a problem. Its only an article. The orginal script is some book somewhere... But its a good read. I love the parts about Hegner and Graces love affair with the na'vi. Really adds to the movie

Wow. I just finished reading that article and I am completely astounded. I'm surprised Cameron butchered out so much good material. I like Jake a lot, but I would have loved Josh. I'm not really sure what to say. I'm in a state of kind of stunned awe.

I asssume there will be a book version of avatar hopefully. This will probably be the full version. He cut alot out because sadly people are dumb and alot of the stuff in p880 wouldnt appeal to the masses. The original would have drawn a different crowd. It was more of a dark sci fi than a visual fanstasy. I would have loved to see P880 become a reality. But in a way i am kinda glad it didnt go through. It gives the elite fans something to huddle around. I was really suprised at how few people had heard of this. Any comments or thought? I really want to see what other people thought about it. I was utterly blown away by the amount of content lost from the movie and hegner. I would have loved that to be in the movie.

Btw i somewhat copied your tek tek but im actually really suprised at how different they are.
