Here's the thread for Eternia. Personally, I didn't like it, then again I was playing the US version which I believe was dubbed into rubble. It was the first game in the series to go to non-chibi battle sprites, and introduced the true idea of Hi-Ougis. As well, Cless is a secret boss, so it's still cool, even if it isn't my favorite.

Bah, true hi-ougi? Cless invented them... twice... in the same game. xd Now if only Chester and Suzu had had some my life would be complete...
Anyway, I liked it, but yeah. The dub was pretty subpar. The only real personality trait I got out of Rid was "I'm hungry!!" then towards the end "I'll save the world... but only for a slim but possible chance at the reproductive act.".
Keel made the game worth it. Absolute a*****e but absolutely brilliant and fun as heck to play as.

I meant as in "Face going across the Screen" Hi-Ougi.
I didn't like Keel, or Melody, or Rid, or Chat. Fog was probably one of my only favorite characters from that game. Farah is in the middle, and Race... well, I just don't count him that much because he's in your party for about 1/5 of Disc 1, and then you never get him again. (Pretty sure you never get him again, that'd be a major plothole if you could get him to come back)

I like Eternia.. it's very fun. Mind you, I turned off the voices xD! But I have heard them, so yea. Okay so they're pretty badly done, but I could care less. =P

I don't know if it's just me, but it always seems like people are nagging and complaining about Tales Of Eternia, or mostly the English version which I just got; Tales Of "Destiny II". I'm not saying anyone who comments with the slightest bit of negativity about ToE is officially hated by me or something, but it does seem like this Tales game is the most... er... hated, of the Tales series; despite what Hoa just wrote. xD My point is messed though, because some concepts of this game seem like they can be picked on, like the sucky English voices for example. I've heard them, and they're not very great at all, but I can live with them. I know most people do turn off the voices, but you barely ever find a game with voices (that I stumble upon), so I'd may as well hear 'em... Anyway. But I digress. xD I stand on the side that thinks Tales Of Destiny II is radical.

xD I merely said that as this thread hasn't been bumped up in 7 days now. And... since I've finally got to play Tales Of Destiny II (English Eternia) on Playstation 2 ('Bought one Boxing Day!), I can actually talk about it. =P I'm up to the point of Mt. Celsius on Disc 2 (with my beloved Farah having her... noseless face on the second disc), and I'm stuck... But hopefully I'll figure things out. By the way... The voices actually aren't all that bad. 3nodding

But I ramble.. Tales Of Destiny II's voices aren't all that bad. I thought they were going to be from what I heard, but... These are my ratings for the voices... xD
Reid: He sounds kinda... dumb at times. O..o; Otherwise his voice is fine.
Farah: Sometimes she says things in odd ways that could be expressed alot better. But her voice is actually the best of them in my opinion, otherwise. =P
Meredy: Gah! She sounded okay when she spoke in Melnics, but then her voice sounded more and more like a 6 year old... Especially in, and at the end of battles.
Keele: ...The worst. Evar. xD Sorry, but his voice really was pretty bad. It doesn't seem to match... him, at all. I thought his voice would be deeper for some reason, and less... like it is. O-o; His battle voice is absolutely the worst. Especially when he casts spells like "Fireball"... Ugh... x..x;
Rassius: Like Keele, I thought his voice would be deeper judging by his character and it didn't sound like I was thinking it would.
Chat: Urgh... I don't know what's wrong with this one.
Max: Unfortunately, he like, only says "yeah", so it really is hard to judge. x..x; But he says a couple things, and his voice isn't very great... It kinda matches him, but then again he sounds really stupid from time to time... xD
Other Voices (NPC's'): Heh... Sometimes the NPC characters spoke really slow, or just weird. Take the mayor in the beginning for example... Not much to say otherwise.

*Gasp!*
Someone liked Baten Kaitos' voice acting? In my opinion: WORSE. ACTING. EVER. It sounded like everyone was just reading off a script, and that they were *purposely* trying to make it sound like that. And just...Ugh. The only voice actors who knew what the hell they were doing were Gibari's and that blue-haired villian dude with the awesome battle pose. (I think it was Folon. sweatdrop )

*DOUBLE POST, (Because it must be said)* Ubisoft is sponsoring Tales of Eternia, and is releasing it for PSP in America in February. http://talesofeterniagame.uk.ubi.com/(Warning: Flash heavy >_< ) Most of you probably already knew, but it seemed the game didn't get a lot of popularity with all the Tales of Phantasia name controversy. So...Wa~la.

Yay, so it is coming over here. Good... But then it goes back to the Phantasia controversey due to the fact that a certain swordsman makes a guest appearance in that game...
Oh well, at least they called it Eternia. They fixed their mistake, yay.
