A Discovery for Jo'Rakha!
Rolling for Mystaira.
Jo'Rakha's 1st Turn!

Jo'Rakha has nearly alerted everyone of their presence by falling over a sealed casket!

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
Well, maybe it wasn't as glamorous as bellydancing ... but there were rewards to be garnered from delving into these unusual ruins. Even if, you know, it was a little suspicious. Really, since when did ruins just appear out of nowhere? But that didn't matter to anyone - just the appeal of shinies.

And shinies may have just been what Jo'Rakha would find ... if he was lucky. Or perhaps, more correctly, if he was skilled. Just inside the entrance to the great hall of the ruin, high white walls gleaming and reflecting light from the magical glows, was an alcove that apparently no one had seen before. Perhaps the Khajiit's natural dark-vision allowed him to see better?

At any rate, there was a small alcove, with an Aleyid casket inside. Unfortunately, the container was locked - perhaps THAT being the reason it was untouched. There was a locking mechanism on it, with a few scrapes; perhaps no one had managed to open it thus far?

You may make a lockpicking roll if you wish to try and open the casket, or use any other skill that you think might help. Otherwise, this turn is over, make your next event roll.

Ruins appeared out of nowhere for the sole purpose of providing people (like Ro'Rakha) with shinies. What other reason could there be?

The Khajiit smiled to himself as he meandered through the water in the ruins to the alcove with the casket in it. Perhaps there were shinies in it? Well, since no one seemed to have been able to open it so far, there probably were! Now, how to get the thing open?

He crouched down and eyed the mechanism keeping shinies from him before making an attempt at picking the lock.

(Whee! Security roll! COME ON SHINIES! XD)

s**t, someone set Jo'Rakha up the bomb ... er ... trap!
Rolling for Mystaira.
Jo'Rakha's 2nd Turn!

Jo'Rakha has failed to pick the lock ... and it was rigged with a trap!

Things weren't going too well for the shifty Khajiit.

They weren't horrible, perhaps, comparatively, but they weren't too well either. Not long in his trek, he discovered the casket containing some of the oldest and worthwhile shinies in the entire ruins ... and failed to pick the lock.

The real reason why no one bothered with the casket was likely not his keen spotting abilities, but rather the lack of, as no sooner than he tried to pick the lock as it released a rather unpleasant smelling odor, belonging to a thick purplish smoke that didn't seem too welcoming at all. No it didn't.

In fact it was downright evil, very dangerous in nature. The belly dancer would do well to use some of his best moves to get himself away from the cloud that would soon prickle away at his skin if he didn't.

We don't need a scarred Khajiit dancing before the Madgod, after all.

You may attempt either Acrobatics or Athletics to avoid the 1 HP damage from the dangerous cloud of doom! You must roll a 20 or higher.

Disappointment at not being able to reach the precious shinies likely inside was quickly put to the back of the poor unlucky Khajiit's mind at the smell emitting from the lock. How dare they plant such a foul trap to keep him from the shinies!

Jo'Rakha attempted to propel himself out of his crouching position into back flip to get away from the evil smoke. Now he just needed not to slip in the water on the floor when he landed so he'd be able to get far enough away.

(Go mah Acrobatic Khajiit! 8D)

Uh oh Spaghettios!
Rolling for Mystaira.
Jo'Rakha's 2nd Turn!

Jo'Rakha has lost the internet.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
Jo'Rakha's amazing skills in the art of entertainment unfortunately failed to carry over into the amazing skills of dodging tiny man-eating creatures that apparently didn't care whether their tasty snack was Mer or Khajiit.

Said bugs did hate one thing, however. Luckily, water wasn't something scarce in the dank ruins, and it wouldn't be long before the purple incandescent creatures would be in search of prey that wasn't infested with rank H2O.

( And nevermind about not caring. They didn't like the way Khajiit tasted anyway. |:< )

Unluckily, however, would be that the tiny bugs did get a few munches in before their hive-minds decided to fly away. Jo'Rakha has lost 1 HP, but isn't so shaken that he can't continue.

The now rather wet Khajiit sat in the water for a few moments, wondering if he could blame it on the water tripping him perhaps. But never mind that... HE WAS JUST NIBBLED BY TINY PURPLE PEOPLE EATERS! The nerve of that casket! Actually... Maybe since it was near the entrance to the ruins, THAT was all that was in the casket and there were never any shinies in it to begin with.

Consoling himself with that thought Jo'Rakha got up and moved deeper into the ruins hoping to find more likely sources of shinies.

Battle Time for Jo'Rhaka!
Rolling for Mystaira.
Jo'Rakha's 3rd Turn!

Jo'Rakha has encountered a(n) flying purple people eater!

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
Well ... technically, at least, he'd find shinies. In a manner of speaking. Assuming that shinies were "anything shiny" of course, and not "gold" or "jewels" so much as "a big a**, shiny frickin' beetle."

Apparently the tiny purple people eaters didn't like water ... but their cousin didn't mind it so much. At least not enough that it wouldn't hulk out of the shadows (well maybe not hulk, it couldn't have been bigger than Jo'Rakha's thigh at least?) and launch itself at the unlucky Khajiit's face.

Roll your choice of battle skill before writing any post. If you get higher than me, you win, and may check the monster for loot (if you dare) before your next event roll. If you get lower, you lose 1HP (and the battle) and make your next event roll now. On the event of a tie, wait for my next battle roll!

Not all shinies had to be gold or jewels to be worth collecting... Just that most of the best were.

Oh look! A shiny! ... A flying purple shiny that was flying at his face! Relaying on his, so far unreliable, Khajiit abilities, Jo'Rakha attempted to swat the the beetle out of the air and away from his face. He didn't need more bug bites than he had already gotten.

(Hand to hand! SWAT THE LITTLE BUGGER!)

Managing to hit the bugger, Jo'Rakha investigated to see if there was anything worth salvaging from the beetle... It was shiny afterall...

Sweet Jesus, Jo'Rakha!
Rolling for Mystaira.
Jo'Rakha's 3rd Turn!

Jo'Rakha has come across the one thing that adventurers love more than cheese ... lewt...?

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
The bug smacked into the wall, leaving a presumably not-so-living bug to fall down into the water on the floor. Well, at least it wasn't too strong, even though it was pretty damn big.

At any rate, the bug wasn't exactly ... well, it wasn't precisely capable of carrying a coin purse. However, its wing casings were quite hard, and very bright; the inside sides were iridescent, while the outside was a lovely smooth purple. He could always break them off, if he really wanted them. How much they were worth was questionable, but they were pretty.

Otherwise, nothing.

Congratulations! No roll is needed here. Take what loot you want and make your next event roll!

Who cares if they were worth anything, they were shiny! And who knows, maybe they could be fastened into some kind of pretty accessory or something. The Khajiit carefully breaks off the wing casings, happy to finally have found a shiny prize, and stores them... Uh... Somewhere upon his person...

Feeling his luck was getting better Jo'Rakha ventured deeper into the ruins in search of more shiny lewt!

Battle Time for Jo'Rakha!
Rolling for Mystaira.
Jo'Rakha's 4th Turn!

Jo'Rakha has encountered an oversized rat!

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
Whether or not Jo'Rakha's luck was truly "better" remained to be seen, as not long after his last little encounter he'd come across another.

The "better" part of his luck made sure it wasn't anything majour, however, as even though he could have easily come across something much more dangerous, the slight nagging feeling at the back of his neck would turn out to be nothing more than a common rat. Sure, it was just a bit bigger than usual, and preparing to lunge at the cat-mer's ankles, but still. It was a rat.

Surely nothing a fine specimen of a Kahjiit couldn't handle, right? They were often found in towns, even. It could be much worse ...

Because seriously, who the hell knew what would come out of that water. Ick.

First he encounters tiny purple people eats who took a bite out of Madgod knows where, then a bigger purple people eater makes an attempt on his face, and now a rat was going for his ankles... Perhaps not purple this time, but it was still rather wet rat at that. Apparently, everything wanted to eat the Khajiit. Was belly dancing an invitation to eat somebody? ... Well, maybe for some people....

His claws served him well against the beetle, they might as well serve him just as well against an soggy overgrown rat. Jo'Rakha struck out at the rat, vaguely wondering in the back of his mind if the rat could possess any shinies.

(Hand to Hand! Kitty vs Rat! FAITO!)

Felling his enemy, the slowly growing more confident Khajiit checked if there was any lewt to be had from the beastie.

Indeed the Khajiit's claws served him well!

A tiny, softly glowing piece of crystal exposed itself under the scrutiny, no bigger than the rat's claw, yet the blue hue was still a sight to behold.

Upon even further inspection, it was an obvious guess that it was nothing less than a tiny gift from the Madgod that the Khajiit loved so much. No sooner than when he picked it up did the blue glow change to a soft purple, the colour of the crystal itself turning rich green.

If the crystal was appraised, it wouldn't be worth much to anyone else, as what looked like crystal would turn out to be nothing but glass ... but it was likely not leaving Jo'Rakha's sight soon anyway.

You may make your next event roll!

Behold! Another shiny! And more purple as well! Of course it was a gift from the Madgod! Others might not value the shiny glass, but this Khajiit appreciated all forms of shiny!

After happily stowing it away, Jo'Rakha glanced around the ruins... Definitely seemed to be getting wetter, he'd probably have to head back out soon, lest get trapped in a room full of water. But first... There were probably more shinies to be had, and there was always time to look for shinies.

Onward deeper into the ruins!

Battle Time for Jo'Rakha!
Rolling for Mystaira.
Jo'Rakha's 5th Turn!

Jo'Rakha has encountered a) skeleton mage!

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
If there was any time for the Khajiit to turn around, it would be here. The water had steady risen to his hips and didn't show any signs of receding. Instead, actually, it got deeper not to further ahead. If you count 'skyscraper depth' water as deeper.

It was also a lot safer the way he'd come from.

With a rattle of bones unmoved since ancient years, the skeleton mage rose from the crumpled heap on the floor, a jolt of electric shock lighting where there there were once eyes (presumably, who the hell knew with these things).

And then it coughed. Or what could be considered an ancient skeleton's cough, if there ever really was such a thing.

I didn't really look all that strong. It was a mage, after all. Everyone that had ever gone adventuring with one knew their defense was like tissue paper.
