I had, eariler this week, sat down with Arqueete, a founder member of The Gaian Theatre Company. They are also in need of people to join, actors, really. They have a guild, so why don't you look them up? I have some questions/anwser I had for her. So here they are. Hope you like them.

Question 1. How did the Gaian Theatre Company come to be?

Anwser: Myself and four of my friends were bored in towns one evening in summer of 2006, and we wondered what would happen if we all showed up in costume in a square in Towns and started performing for people. People loved us. The rest is history.

Question 2. Have your performances been successes?

Anwser: We have definitely had ups and downs. There have been plenty of times when we just couldn't get together the actors and audiences we wanted or needed -- it's hard for us to get the word out when we're tucked away in the quiet Community Projects subforum. There have been several times when Gaia HQ has given us a hand, as we've been featured in announcements and on the front page, but our retention of attention isn't that great -- people keep saying they remember seeing us featured but then forgot about us. I'm hoping that our new guild (The Sphere Theatre) will help that smile .

Question 3. Who thought of the idea, but asked the other to help? You or O.G?

Anwser: We try and keep [O.G.] a bit of a mystery as we love the theories that crop up surrounding him wink But I can tell you that [O.G.] is no one's main account and that quite a few people have access to him.

I'm pretty sure I was the one who suggested it and started the thread, however, the idea of "let's go do [performance art type thing] for some random people online!" is hardly my invention, and coincidentally, it was probably the person who originally owned the OG account that introduced me to that idea..

Question 4. Is it difficult to perform plays on Gaiaonline?

Anwser: It's nothing compared to real theater, I think, but it has its own unique challenges that real theater doesn't always deal with so much. We've been doing this long enough that I like to think we've got the performing part worked out pretty well, the difficult part comes in finding reliable people who have the time to join us, as understandably for most people online projects don't have a high priority in their lives..

Question 5. Is it hard to find the gold, or cash, to get the costumes ready for the set date of a performance?

Anwser: Even if I complain sometimes and we could always use more, we've never had trouble getting costumes bought by performances. I'm certainly grateful for that.

Question 6. How does everyone mange with the time-zones for a perfomance? As it could be 1:00 p.m. somewhere, then 3:00 a.m. somewhere else.

Anwser: At the height of our popularity we had three casts that performed at three different times of day, but most of the time we definitely can't afford to do that, so we try and find a compromise. 5 PM PST is our usual performance time as it falls pretty nicely into the afternoon/evening for North America. Not so nice for the other side of the globe, but that hasn't stopped a few of them from joining us anyway, and someday hopefully we'll have enough interest from them to regularly offer them their own cast and performance times..

Question 7. How many performances have there been altogether?

Anwser: I don't even know. Around 100, I think. .

Question 8. Is there times where things become to stressful and you wish you could throw it out the window?

Anwser: Sure. I think that's natural for any project, especially one that's been around this long and been through this many ups and downs, and we have taken breaks when it's stopped being fun. But we're still here, and when it all comes together it becomes worth it smile .

Question 9. How long have you been acting on Gaiaonline?

Anwser: Personally, I have been involved in some way, shape, or form in every show the GTC has done since summer of 2006..

Question 10. Does everyone enjoy the performances, cast, staff, and audiences alike?

Anwser: Well, I certainly hope so wink
