Judge: "Begin when ready."

[Describe arena aspects in each of the combatant's first post. That will determine the area in which both fight.]
PostPosted: Sun Jan 24, 2010 8:09 am

The area is a forest of deadly thorns... POISONOUS thorns. The vines are wrapped around all the trees and even litter the floor almost. Some are as small as garden snakes, others are as big as cobras. There are knots of them the size of a shed. It is a dimly lit forest, since trees block the sunlight. Only small beams pass through. (The poison numbs.)

irritating crunches could be heard from each step. Thick, yet lightly weighted boots crushed, and nearly completely crumbled the thorns beneath the beings feet. Poisons had not been a thought of worry within his mind, for his bloodline protected him greatly of such grave fears that lay within members of various families. Upon his chest lay a thin, yet extremely durable material crossed in a diagnol fashion, firmly remaining in it's place, holding the light metallic sheath that contained Deaths blade. Minuscule rumbles were felt through it's material, consisting of a continuous thumps. Deaths blade has a special ability, dealing with chakra, and materials, allowing it sense vibrations that have entered within it's range. The thumping traits related to the human hearts blood cycle pattern. Intrigued by this, Death knew a fight was soon to form. The smell of this beings blood compelled him to move fast, without precaution. Moving at a slightly faster rate, Death accidentally scratched his arm against one of the thorns that the vines stuck outwards. The vigorous and violent jerk of both his skin, and clothing tearing nearly stopped his motion of moving forward. A numb feeling startled him, immediately he realized the effect of the toxins that are contained within the thorn, and used his Ketsueki bloodline ability to create a larger anti-biotic medicine from his very blood, completely surrounding the contaminated cells, and destroying them (as it entered). He stopped momentarily, and released the same anti-biotic substance throughout his body, changing the bloods status. Any poison that may enter the body as of this point, would be instantly eradicated of his body.

Refocusing on the lingering stench of blood, he noticed a human-like figure, within his very path. A male structural body type was the first noticeable feature, yet Death had not thought of being lenient in any way. While extending his left arm upwards, he activated his Ketsueki bloodline ability, called "Hunters sight." Through this magnificent ability, blessed to only those of his bloodline, Death can see within darkness (at will), move at incredible speeds, and see movements in a slower motion. Through each level of this ability, enables more and more abilities. A slight click moved throughout the area as the attachment located just above the handle of the katana to hold it in its place was removed. With a fast and vigorous movement, Death removed the blade of its sheath, and swing downwards watching as it tapped the ground. The vibrations collected from the tap between the ground and the katana, bounced back throughout the sharp and sleek tip, emitting it in an outwards direction. (Towards you.) The vibrations effect were nearly quadrupled, due to the the attribute within Deaths blade. The deadly vibrations moved swiftly and quickly throughout almost every object (The ground, trees, vines that are connected to those trees), and towards his unknown advisory, with enough lethal force to crumble each bone within the human body. As known already, the bone located in the body, is used as a form of structure to withstand the mass of the body, and to allow firm segments to move as the body is designed to. Lack of that structure would only cause the all the mass of the body to crush every organ. Lack of structure at the legs would cause the body to fall, lack of bone structure in the upper body would cause the body to fall on top of itself, crushing everything that lay within it. Quietly, he awaited for confirmation of any confrontation.

The canopy of thorns that constituted the arena was quite a sight to behold. Numerous vines sprouted out of the ground at various angles, slithering their way up trees like deadly vipers, their fangs glistening in the failing illumination. The entirety made a form of brier patch, both on the ground, and in the sky. The whole area was darkened as a result, with only the faintest glimmers to be seen. Thin veils of light forming patches on the shadowed ground. It was here, in this dangerous place, that two ninja would do battle for the prides of their respective villages.

Azure of the Ichijin Clan, the former Second Hanekage, was dressed in flowing robes. The silk was as white and clean as a snowy dove in a winter drift. He wore a scarf around his neck, similarly colored, drooping to the side as he moved, for there was little wind here. His hat was wide-brimmed and made of browned woven straw. The symbol etched upon the straw, dyed in a similar shade of white, was a stylized wing of a bird. This was not the sort of garb that one would wear to such an enclosed battlefield of poisoned barbs.

However, no matter where he moved, the thorns would not bite. He kept to the wider areas of the paths, where little overgrowth reached. And for those vines he did pass, it was if they bent away from his form at the last minute. If one knew Azure's being, as Death most likely had been told, the Ichijin Clan were usually air element ninja. The 2nd Kage was reportedly a master of this element. It was more than likely that the thorns bent away from some relatively-invisible wind surrounding the ninja like a barrier, warding him from harm.

And that is why a vibration attack against him would fail. Vibrations of this attack traveled by air, from Death's blade, to Azure. The oscillations reached out from Death's weapon, amplified by Death's own natural abilities, intent on causing considerable pressure waves that would cripple even the most durable of opponent. But Azure was known in Gaioh as someone whose main fighting style was redirection, using the wind currents as his weapon.

As the destructive vibrations were about to test themselves against the Ichijin leader's constitution, he raised his hand. The tiny grasslings that littered the relatively parched ground began to ripple and bend. The breeze kicked up and began to ruffle Azure's billowing white robes. Even Death could feel the air rushing past him, blowing across his face and body. The strength intensified quite quickly, becoming a raging gale. If the rocking vibrations weren't silenced immediately by such a force, most likely they were either scattered to the winds, or returned to their source, with potentially savage results to Death's body.

However the vibrations by ground and vine would not be returned in such a way. Immune to such aerial movements. But now the winds were intense enough that they had begun to lift Azure from the ground. He didn't travel too high, only about a foot from the ground. The zephyr surrounding him, that was just only strong enough to bend thorns before, now roared around him in a gale, becoming quite visible. The vibrations still capable of harming him could only bite him weakly, giving a slightly softer muscle definition, causing him to ache a bit all over. The hindrance would not last too long though, as a capable fighter would quickly mask the pain.

The other draw back was the snapping of the vines around them. The virulent thorns and ropey bodies of the creepers were torn from their perches, and from the ground like weeds in a storm, and flung like destructive bolas toward the Ketsueki. They spun like noxious, spiked disks. Sometimes they even gauged themselves or others as they flew, tearing gashes in their rubbery hides and spewing forth baleful liquids.

It was quite a sight, as if a storm had formed low to the ground. A person floating in a bubble of raging winds, like a tiny, spherical tornado. And everything snapping and bending and flying around him.

Your counter would not be of any disturbance to the vibrations. Sound travels through air, yet it too is of vibrations, but with slightly different properties. These were just sent out as vibrations traveling through the objects around you. Trees, the ground, the vines.

Also, for there to be a force of air, the wind would have to be in a constant motion for it to act as a barrier.

[Ah I see what I did wrong. I must have not noticed the ground vibrations in your post. I apologize for that oversight. Give me a minute to edit my post to take those into consideration... As for the wind, I have not stated that it isn't in a constant state of motion.]

Exactly my point. Nothing was stated. Just letting you know.

You still want to continue with the fight?
