Kimbia yawned as he lifted his body up on his black paws. His whole body ached from his hunting spree the day before. He still felt so full... and so thirsty.. though he had no power to drag his body down to a water pond. He sat down and looked around. he wouldn't mind if some unknow guardian angel made it rain on his aching bones right now. slowly, he lifted himself again and walked between a few dusty dones and on the cracked ground. he should get some water, no matter how painful that might be...

Kivumbi trailed back to the graveyard after her several day long exploration. She was full from the zebra she had hunted with the young cub she had met previously. The female hyena slowly travelled weaving between elephant carcasses. Turning her head to the left slightly she noticed some minor movement. She stared for a moment then headed over to see who or what was causing the disturbance.

Kimbia dragged his tired body through bones and dust and he stopped abruptly when he heard something move. he was not... alone? he looked around .. and finally his blood-red eyes stopped on a shadow. he slowly walked towards it and as he went closer, the figure became more clear. "kivu????" he asked with surprise.. he had not seen that hyena since she was a young cub. not believing what he was seeing he repeated "kivu?? is that really you???"

Kivu's eyes widened as she looked closer to see what it was. She was looking at a black colored hyena that was quite familiar looking. Then she heard the hyena call her name. She immeadiately recognized the male and a smile spread upon her face. "It is you...isn't it? Kimbia I have missed you...you were dormant in my mind, but now that I see you I'm so glad." Kivu sat down and motioned for Kimbia to do the same.

Kimbia could not belive it was Kivu.. he had not seen her for such long time, and first thought his tired eyes were playing a trick on him... but now that he was closer, he could see he'd been right.. she had grown since he had seen her, but her unique color gave her away... most of the hyenas in the graveyard were dusty gray.. unlike her... "it's been so long" he said, sitting down, grateful that his aching bones found some rest. the pain was better now that he had walked a little, but he could not resist sitting down. he looked at the female.. he didn't know what to say.. it had been so long.. he opened his mouth to ask how she had been and what she had done, but that was a lame question, not a question he would like to answer himself. he remebered when they first played together as babies... he could call kivu his first real friend, and he recalled his brother was quite fond of her too. how they loved mischief! he wondered if she had changed?.. "i have not seen you in these parts.." he asked "were you living elsewehere?" he was really curious because all of the hyenas he knew lived in the graveyard.. more of less...
