Welcome, fellow Leaguers and Mercenaries, to the 1st ever Mercenary League Logo Contest! The object is to create a logo to represent the Mercenary League. It will be used on ID cards and other miscellany, so it will get widely seen. The winner will receive 10,000 gold for their submission. There is no prize for second place, however, so you gotta aim for the top! Rules: You can not use a logo created by someone else. This includes symbols from video games and companies.
The logo will be chosen without regard to the program used. Not everyone has Photoshop, so we will grade it depending upon the creativity. If your drew it by hand or used MS Paint, and yours is chosen, we may upgrade it using Photoshop to make it more clean and crisp.
One submission per person. Make it your best.
Make the logo associate with the League. Don't create something that doesn't have anything to do with the League at all.
The logo can be no bigger than 200px by 200px. You can make it bigger, but it has to still be visible and legible if shrunk down to that size.
Obscenity, profanity, etc. have no place in our logo.
The Deadline for submission is the 15th of February. Once all the logos are submitted, the crew will choose the top five. These five will then be voted on by the League (that way everyone can't vote for themselves and we end up with a stalemate). The winner receives the prize, and the logo will be used to represent the Mercenary League wherever needed. Once submitted, logos become the property of the Mercenary League to be used as we see fit. By submitting your design, you are giving full permission to the Mercenary League to utilize this design, and are forfeiting ownership of the design. Bear this in mind when making submissions. Aaaand....they're off!

Also, here's my submission. It's a tiny bit bigger than the 200x200 pixels but the only program available that I have right now is Paint. And if I shrink the size, the resolution is gonna suffer. So there:

Yes, this is just an idea. It can be modified and such.

Curses. The one-submission-each rule has proven itself my bane once more. I spent a good half hour creating 6 different Ideas.
Ah well. I'll be gimping up a submission ASAP.

I like the clever GML in K' the Warrior's shield design but I'm wondering if the shield itself is right for mercenaries since mercs are traditionally more offensive than defensive. (Defensive = Contractors)
K' the Warrior, in the event I toss in an entry mind if I use the GML you put in the shield? I'd end up giving you the gold for it if I win. (I don't need it)

Sure thing, I don't mind. Also, it was supposed to be a badge...but like I said, it's very basic. Since the logo will serve a greater purpose for the guild, then yes, go ahead and modify it if you want.

mercenary_RP if i had to do it in paint i still couldn't get it on the internet Photobucket, Imageshack, Tinypic. One of those three should work for you regardless of your race.

Aaaaaaaaaand... Submit!  Or something like that. Open to refining. In fact, it would probably look better if someone with higher skill in drawing than myself, such as a hobo, redrew it, colored it, etc... Yeah. That's a Gold Coin in the center, a Katana NE to SW, a Feather Pen/Quill NW to SE, and GML in nice fancy print. Spiffy, Ja?

I did mine on Paint. >/> And www.tinypic.com should work just fine anywhere in the world. you don't even require an account. So if you really want to submit something, you have no more excuses.
