Setting: At the Xavier institute...Ares currently is dating another girl in this one.
Status: I guess you can join in...this is mostly a way for me to vent, so if you feel inspired to continue in this after I'm done feel free.

Backstory: Ok, this basically happened to me in real life. Since there is really nothing i can do to...relieve stress or anything that might help me feel better...I've tried to translate my life into role play. IF you wish to ignore it, feel free...but I had no where else to put it, and if this, iono, is inappropriete, then I apologize in advanced.

As her voice rang out over the phone, a smile spread on Ares's face. "Hello?" He heard some thumping around in the background. She was on speakephone.

"Hey baby, what's up?" Ares replied, genuine cheeriness in his voice. "You busy or anything?"

She laughed, he voice filling him even more with happiness. "Not really, just cleaning up my room for a bit."

"Oh, you expecting company?"

"No, just cleaning. Why do you call when we live in the same house?"

Laughing himself, Ares kicekd his feet up on the bed. It was quite silly to call when they were in the same building here at the Xaveir institute, but he was lazy. And tired. It had been a long day. Who knows, maybe he could convince her to come over...

"Yeah, yeah, I know, I know."

"You silly boy..."

"Anyways, so what are you up to?"

"I'm...like I said I am cleaning. Gosh, do you listen?"

He was taken back a bit by her...harshness. It wasn't necessary at all? Who knows, maybe she had a bad day. They...they didn't really talk a whole lot in their relationship. It was a fact that he didn't like, and had always planned on bringing it up to her, but he just had never gotten around it. "Um...ok. You going to be long? I was thinking maybe we could hook up and do something later. You wanna come over?"

Over the phone, he heard the door creak. And heavy footsteps. Heavy footsteps? He had seen her roommate...and she was very very petite. And she didn't have any sort of mutation that would lead to...heavy footsteps.

What he heard next was even more suprising. "Oh s**t!" she yelled out, and he heard her fumbling with the phone. NExt thing he knew, he heard nothing. He was no longer on speaker phone. "Um....hello?"

"What?" she snapped again. What was up with her lately?

"What was that? What happened to the phone?"

"Nothing, god. You are so worrysome." He heard something brush across the speaker of her phone and some mumbled talking. The voice...was deep? Very deep. Man-like deep.

"Hey baby, Um..."

"Hey, I'm going to go. I got stuff to do."

"I thought you said you only were just cleaining."

"I said I had to go. God, I don' thave to explain everything to do..." He heard her giggling and the phone hanging up.

"WHAT THE ********" he screamed into his phone. HIs blood was boiling as he gripped the phone. He could feel the thin plastic covering it starting to crack under the pressure. His veins were standing out on his muscle as he squeezed, his vision blurring from anger.

His tiredness forgotten, he dashed out his room. Doors whizzed by as sped down the nigh-empty hallways. Most likely, everyone on his entire floor heard his earlier exclamation and didn't want to be anywhere near him.

She was a couple floors down, but he was sprinting like a mad man. There was a man's voice in there...and she got off quite quickly afterwards. He was....needless to say, quite suspecious.

And when he finally reached her floor, it was again empty. Rushing to the door, he went for the handle. Locked? He heard a stifled scream going on in their. But a scream of pain? No...a startled scream. No coincidence.

Luckily, door knobs, and the locking mechanisms, are made of metal. And the small knob that holds the door closed was liquified by his mutation as he burst into the room. There, on her bed, was her.

Nude.

And...who was that under her?

His jaw dropped to the floor. The anger that was filling him seemed to rear up, then bash him in the stomach, stoping him cold. He felt his eyes tearing up...what was going on.

"Wha...what?" he stammered, barely able to form words.

"Ares..." she said, her voice the same, soothing calming voice that had drawn him to her in the first place. "Ares it's....it's not..."

"Who?" the boy said. Ares had never seen him before, he must have been knew. "Who is that? Why did he just bust down the..."

The boy didn't get a chance to finish, as Ares had lept across the room, knocked Jessica off of him, and pinned had placed his hand across the boy's neck. "Who...." he stated, still barely able to form coherent and full words. "Who....the hell....are you?"

"I'm....Brian....I got here a week ago..."

"Why are you in the bed WITH MY GIRLFRIEND???"

"Girlfriend?"

From Ares's jacket, a piece of metal fell out and into his open, free hand. He held his hand over Brian's head...and began to concentrate. A spike shot out frm the metal, shooting into the bed next to Brian's head. Another shot out, hitting the other side of his head. "Give me one reason..." he said, borrowing a line from logan, "Why I should extended the middle one..."

"I didn't know, I didn't know...I didn't know..." he stammered, scared out of his wits. Whatever his mutation was, it obviously wasn't helping him at all. Maybe his mutation was just being a fatty, as the boy was quite large.

"Not good enough..."

"Ares, no!" Jessica shouted...snapping Ares out of his homocidal rage. He stared at her and realized that...there may have been some truth in it. Was she....was she cheated on him, and he didnt' even know? It was...it was all her?

The spikes that had inserted themselves into the bed withdrew back into the piece of metal in Ares's hand. "You..." he seethed out, getting up to walk towards her. She looked scared out of her mind. "You dirty, filthy whore...you...you..." He ran out of words and merely screamed out in rage.

The commotion had attracted a bit of attention, as most of the students on that floor and nearby floors had come down to see what was going on. Tears once again forming in his eyes, he noticed there was a crowd forming. NO way he was going to ruin his cred by crying in front of them. He stormed out of the room, growling at anyone who came nearby.

He quickly ran up the stairs into his room. He had his own room, as he was constantly getting reassigned new roommates and he was currently by himself. As he made it in, he slammed the door shut.

Immediately, the tears started flowing. Screaming in rage, he lept onto his bed and began to wail onto his pillows, his fits trying to beat the anger and sadness out of him. "Damn you! Damn you!" he yelled over and over. "God damn you, I'll kill you, I'll kill you..."

As his punching ceased, he fell onto his bed, the tears openly flowing now. He huddle into the middle of his bed, a broken image of his former self. Most students might have been scared to enter, fearing the attack that may come if they did.

However, that would not be happening. Not tonight. Tonight, Ares, the once-proud man who had stood up to even Logan during one of his random roamings around the Institute (and lived to tell the tale as well) was huddle up in his room, the empty void in his heart that had once been filled taken away by the fact that she...the witch...wasn't happy with just one man. She wasn't happy being with only one person, but needed multiple.

He stayed in his room for a day. The one time he ventured out, he saw her...her and that boy...and they were together. He immediately fled back to his room.

Not since he was a baby had he cried. NEver, not a single time. And over the last two days, his body was withered and dry from the endless tears he had shed. HE was a sad, broken boy.

Sad.

Alone.

Again.

Elektra trudged down the hallway of dorm rooms slowly. This wasn't something she exactly wanted high on her list of things to do for the day, but she'd been asked to do it. By the Professor.

Generally, one didn't say no to him ('cept Logan).

Her room was above the girl's- Jennifer? No.. Oh, what the hell.. Jessie... Jessica! Yeah, that's it.. -where the fight took place. She didn't really need to hear about it from gossip in the mansion; she had heard it fine enough from her own room.

That kid and his temper.. He's too much like Logan without being him or something. she mentally sighed.

And somehow she'd been talked into checking on him. Usually one of the teachers or even the Professor himself would check on students when they were having rough times. Usually. According to the Professor, the 17-year-old had a knack for getting people to talk about things by just being around to listen. While she herself wasn't so sure about that, she wasn't about to straight-out argue. Afterall, he'd shot down some of her rebuttals before she'd had the chance to say anything. Stupid telepaths.. she grumbled.

Of course, Ares had a reputation and she was one of those people who preferred to not mess with kids like him- even if he were 3 years younger and her having an advantage over him mutation-wise.

So why the Professor expected him to just open up to her was beyond her own reasoning.

Well.. here goes..whatever... With a sigh, she stopped in front of his door and knocked lightly. And if the kid gets pissy and gets shocked, it's not my fault.

A soft melody seemed to faintly emmit from the room. The simple strumming of a guitar, lightly muted. Anyone with knowledge of the instrument could realize that it was an electric guitar...obviously without the amp turned on (or headphones plugged in) so as to not disturb anyone. It was a light, softly cheery melody. Methodic, slightly mesmerizing. The strums were softly, light...almost as if he was trying to make sure no one heard that it was being played.

A light knock on the door. A...knock? Ares paused for a moment, trying to calm his mind to make sure that it was, in fact, what he had heard. For days, hours...minutes after the fight he had imagined someone at the door...her at the door...wanting to come back to him. But he knew it was just his imagination. Never had there been someone there. Why would this time be any different?

With the guitar still strapped around him, he walked to the door. Even though he believed in his heart that nobody would be there, he had to check. He did it every time.

Looking through the peep hole he was suprised to find someone standing outside. And not just someone...a girl. It wasn't Jessica...but it was definately a girl. Who was she? Straining his memory, one name came to mind. Elektra? Was that her? He had never actually met or talked to her, but he had seen here before.

That lead to the question of why she was at his door. He couldn't just leave her waiting, though. And he had to admit that he was quite pleased at the fact that someone had actually shown up.

His hand went to the door, but hesitated. What would he say? What would SHE say? Why was she there? He hated not knowing things...but he would never find out unless he opened the door.

Softly he turned the handle, letting the door swing open. "Can I..." he said, talking and forming words for the first time in quite a while. "Help....you?"

The guitar was still strapped around him, and he lifted his hand and flicked a few of the strings as he waited. His hair was slightly tuffled. He had showered over the past few days, but he had never really done anything to keep up with his looks and so it was a mixture of air and towel dried. The spikes were slightly poofy, as opposed to the rather solid and crisp that they normally were. His jacket was thrown lackidasically across a chair in the room, he wore a plain white t-shirt over his top and jeans. No socks, no shoes...he stood barefoot, probably because he hadn't left his room except to use the bathroom. He had quite a well stocked fridge in his room so he could go quite a while without leaving to get food.

He ran a hand through his hair, trying to straighten it, however vainly it may have been.

As she stood at the door quietly, she caught the sound of something soft playing. Straining her hearing without leaning on the door (and to keep up casual appearances out there in the hall by herself), she thought it was music. Shrugging, she just figured he had something playing really soft- though she didn't think it was a CD.

Eh.

Standing there for a bit, she started to feel a little restless. And impatient. She knew he was there- she'd been told so. Not to mention the rumor from the others in the hall was that he hadn't much left his room. With a deep sigh, she did her best to hold her cool.

And started counting to 10 in the back of her mind.

By the time she'd hit 3, the door opened, Ares standing there looking not quite so ...there. Depressed much? she thought sarcastically, though she didn't show it on the outside. She also caught sight of the guitar strap. Ah, that was him then. So he does have a "softer" side..

"Hey, just wondering what was up. I uh..." she trailed, shaking her head and closing her eyes. "Damnit, I'm not good at this.." she mumbled to herself, a couple of fingers beginning to idly twirl a lock of short, black hair around. Realizing what she was doing, a habit that was common when nervous and in a situation she wasn't entirely comfortable in, she stopped. "You okay?"

Sometimes the straight, blunt approach was best.

He stared at her blankly for a bit. It was painfully obvious that she was uncomfortable. Of course, he can't say that he would be doing any better in her position. "Am I okay?" he repeated, not sure he entirely heard the inquirey correctly.

"Am I okay?" he repeated once again, his other hand raising and almost unconciously slipping onto the neck of the guitar. The strumming restarted once again, a soft melody springing out of it. He played it for about 10 seconds before his grip tightened and he played a strong, hard power chord. "Am I ******** okay?"

He played the power chord a few more times before his hands fell from the instrument. "That's a tough qustion to answer..." As he entered the room, he lifted his hand to motion that, if she wanted, she could enter. He walked to a wall in his room, where a large sheet of metal seemed to cover it. He put his hands on it and a large chunk of the metal pushed out from the wall. As he turned around, it revealed itself to look much like a chair, smooth, curvy, and quite comfy looking for being purely metal. He motioned to the actual chair in the room if she wanted to sit as well.

"I don't know much about you...I think this is the first time we have ever actually met face to face, actually talked. All I know is your name...and I'm fairly sure my reputation proceeds me..." He sighed a bit, returning to his soft and melodious strumming of the guitar, though it was low enough that he could easily be heard over it.

"That being said, I don't really know what experiences you have gone through in life. I can say one thing, though...I've never been hurt like I was. Sure, I've had bones broken, rips cracked...but affairs of the heart are something that I'm a complete stranger too. Needless to say, she was my first, my only...." He sighed once more..."Those, I've heard, are only the beginning, and hopefully it's the worst..."

The tune became one that had to be familiar. Greensleeves. It was one of the first things he had learned when learning the guitar, and it was a song that almost seemed to comfort him.

"So...am I okay? No...not really. I feel like total s**t. And what is worse is that...normally I take care of my problems via violence. But this time...this time who the hell do I beat up? Her? Him? Me? I just don't know..."

Okay, so that was more or less what she had expected- minus the guitar-playing part, of course. He was a tough person to read; then again she'd never really talked to him or anything, seeing how much younger he was and that they'd not really crossed paths before (due to her just choosing to avoid trouble when possible).

"That's a tough qustion to answer..."

Blinking, the older teenager was taken aback. That was something she had completely not expected. Was he actually going to open up to her? Damn that professor, was he actually right?! ..the hell? She was a little stunned, but shook it off and stepped inside when he motioned her in. At the offering of a seat, she shook her head to imply that she was fine with just standing.

At least in her room she didn't have to worry about random metallic objects.. Yet.

All Elektra did was just stand there silently, watching him or glancing around the room. She was there as someone to listen, not someone to lecture or give advice or anything unless he asked her. But one thing was for sure- this was definitely not the same kid with a reputation of being a problem student.

By the time he finished, she just shrugged, looking to him. "I don't know what to tell you either, except that violence wouldn't be a good idea. You sure as hell wouldn't feel better. I'm not going to pretend to know how you feel because I don't. I do know, though, that song," she motioned to the guitar he held, "is one way to deal. It's what many people do who are musically-inclined."

She smirked. "Though I doubt anyone wants to see some of the s**t I've written when I've been in moods, it doesn't stop me from writing." Waving her hand as if to wave off the subject, she took a deep breath. "Anyways, if you continue to dwell on things, they'll just hurt more. That much I know. As much as it hurts, you need to find some way to force yourself to move on. One person, as much as it sucks to think of it like this with how you feel, is not worth it when that person is.. well, who she is."

Sighing, he continued to strum on the guitar. "I know I should just forget about it...I know I should just move on...but..." He sighed again, playing a blues like chord on the guitar, seemingly to just stare off into the distance. "How do you forget about something like that? How do you just move on?"

"I know I have quite a...bad reputation here. It wasn't always like that, though." He sighed, stopping his playing on the instrument and draping his hands over it. "I don't know why people seem to...resent me. All my life people just seemed to hate me. Now, if I would have been a jackass my whole life, I wouldn't really have anything to complain about. But I wasn't always like that...like this. I don't know...

"All throughout school I was always an outcast...I guess because I was always really smart. People seemed to either be jealous, or just resentful. I was the butt of every joke...so I just stopped being nice to people. My parents were never really financially set, we didn't get a lot of expensive things growing up. Sure, we lived comfortably...but the area I lived was full of spoiled rich kids. They always mad fun of me for not having things. 'How's your brains working for ya, poor kid?' I mean, I wasn't poor...but...

"I guess that's why I started stealing things. I figured I'd just get rid of all the reasons for them to make fun of me. It worked for a while, I guess...until my parents found out and sent me here. I mean, it was either here for jail...

"I thought that here, of all places, people wouldn't make fun of other people. I mean...come on. Mutants. You'd think they'd have a little more tolerance than normal people...heh...I guess not. All the same s**t started up again. I guess that's why I act they way I do. I figured that if they were scared of me they wouldn't mess with me. It works out pretty well, I guess..."

Sighing again, he strated his strumming up once more. He once again had that distance stare on his face. "I don't know about you...but it's kinda werid to be in a place where you aren't wanted. Sure, I didn't want to be here...but there was only a few people that actually did. Xavier wants me here for...whatever reason. My parents did...I guess purely so I could maybe learn to not go to prison later in life. And...well...the only person who wasn't an adult to ever make me feel wanted was her.

"And now that's gone? I guess I just never really realized how unwanted I was here. Sure, it's not like people come up to me and demand that I go away or tell me how much they hate me...but I'm sure they think it. It's like a slap in the face. I really just wanted to leave...but I'm sure I would just go straight to jail if I did. Like...I don't know what I want in life. I don't know why I am here...what's the point of it all...

"Sure, I'm young...but I've always felt older than I really am. I'm smarter than the average 14 year old...more mature...hell I don't even LOOK 14..." He sighed again, strumming a sad and melodious tune on his guitar. "It's hard to find reasons to get up in the morning..."
