An interesting episode all around...
I thought it was clearly obvious that the first car was not the one that Renee was in...I think there are far too many scenes in this season that are so obvious....reporter girl, brother, decoy car.....oh well...still a decent season so far
I do have to say, I am uncertain right now if i'm glad that he didn't kill Renee, or if I am wishing he had...I'm having a very hard time liking her character this season.

Her character is starting to grow on me. I'm trying to appreciate it from the artists point of view. She's playing that character very well, even though I still have issues with it. She's a great actress. But yes, there were many obvious scenes in the premier and last night.

This episode was quite a nice 'bridge' episode, for which some more 'drama'- took place, rather than pure action. I found it pretty good, by my standards.
Renee's dialogue at the end, was actually quite sad- as, well personally I realised that she did feel alone- even when she wasn't under cover. She was lost. And she truly didn't believe there was anything left for her. Hopefully Jack can show her otherwise.

I don't like what I saw in the previews for next Monday. That one will be hard for me to watch. Watching Renee get raped is not what I call entertainment. But we shall see - she may not end up sleeping with him at all. (Not Jack, the Russian dude that was going to kill her.)

Yeah. I agree...
Hopefully, that's not what we're gonna see. *crosses fingers*

well, according to the previews, it seems like there's going to be a tense situation between the two during that scene. I'm not saying we're gonna see her raped, I don't think they would show something like that, but the idea is sent with that scene.

I don't watch previews. Nor do I generally analyze them. But 24 is slowly pushing the edge more and more. 24 started after 9/11 (right?) and they pushed the censors, they got lighter, then they picked it up more last season. This season it's completely dark. ReneƩ's character is obviously still going through some PTSD. So for people to assume that she is ready for her being sane is completely crazy.
Next, her final monologue was clearly her final cry out to the world. When you are facing something you have everyday, something you can't overcome, of course something bad will happen. But you can't want it. So she prayed and he decided to let her go.
As for previews, assuming a show will "not" show someone getting raped. They can always allude to it. End of the season if she's Pregnant, and it's not Jack's, someone's gonna get murdered.

Quote: End of the season if she's Pregnant, and it's not Jack's, someone's gonna get murdered. haha! true true. I like the fact they went over the edge. TV is getting more dark each year, season 8 fits right in like puzzle piece. And agree, they can always allude to Renee and the notion of being raped by this bad guy and not do it. Other TV shows have done it, so it's not really something new. We're just shocked because of Renee's character and what her role is. It's hard to predict what's going to happen with her. The show has gone off to a great start and making it hard to predict what's going to happen.
