For variety, I'll nominate the 19th century author Wilkie Collins...he's considered a father of modern mystery writing with classics such as The Moonstone and The Lady In White.

I just realised that I haven't nominated ...
I shall nominate Jasper Fforde as the author of the month for March. He's an entirely unique author of books such as The Eyre Affair (and the rest of the Thursday Next series), and his latest book Shades of Grey released last month is equally fantastic. I have only read the first book in the Thursday Next series and would love to be able to read the rest and discuss them with everyone on here.

I suggest Francesca Lia Block for the author of the month. She's amazing.

Hum... Well, just for the hell of it, I nominate Shakespeare. The guy needs some recognition once in a while, wouldn't you say?

Juliet Marillier She has written several books and she just keeps popping out the stories each a bit different and each of them a part of the last if you like one of her books you can pretty much guarantee you'll like the rest not that they are the same but they all have a trial if not several trials that will take place during a journey that the main character will have to take.

VictorianVampire_Hazuki Hum... Well, just for the hell of it, I nominate Shakespeare. The guy needs some recognition once in a while, wouldn't you say? I actually think Shakespeare gets a hell of a lot of recognition. I'm from England (only about a 45 minute drive from where Shakespeare lived actually...) and he's everywhere here, really. Can't escape him in school/college. I did take Advance level Literature though, haha.
