It was past sundown. Kobushi stood in the arena as floodlights were turned on for the match. He looked around at the plain battlefield, wondering how they could change it so quickly. One day, it could be multi-terrain, then the next it's just a field of freshly cut grass like this time.

Takayuki stepped into the arena for the first time since the ANBU Tornument. The change in terrain was of no surprise to him anymore. Infact, it was quite a normal thing to him now. He wore a smile as he approached Kobushi. It would be the first time the two of them met in combat. Taka needed to training if he was going to come out and ANBU in the next tornument and he was going to take every match he could.
He raised a hand in a friendly gesture. "Yo, Kobushi!", he said as he approched the boy. He knew of his explosive techniques, but Taka was confident he could take him. "This is our first match against each other. You think you can defeat this Jounin?" He wasn't cocky. Just making conversation. "Anything can happen. Its you and me. Lets see wo takes this match as victory, eh?" He stopped twenty feet from Kobushi and pulled a scroll from his vest. "Lets begin, shall we?"

Kobushi gave a smirk with a small laugh. "Odds are against me," he said, before grabbing for the shovel on his back, twirling it around in his hand and then grasping it like as if it were a lance.

Taka was baffled by the odd choice of a weapon Kobushi had armed himself with, but he figured there must be reason behind it. He opened the scroll, set it on the ground, and performed a few handseals. In a little white cloud of smoke, a pair of kama appeared ontop of the paper, as if they materialized out of nothing. He grabbed them up and twirled one around the outside of his wrist and began pacing back and forth. His smile slowly turned into a serious and determined grin as the match was about to be underway. "I'll let you make the first move."

"If you insist," said the gennin before vanishing in a puff of smoke to have Taka's scroll there in his place. Kobushi appeared crouching where the scroll had been facing the same way he had been before, swinging the blade of the shovel toward the back of his opponents knee.

Taka leapt back as Kobushi vanished in the smoke. Luckily for him, Taka made the right move as the shovel came short of his knees. When he landed, He pushed off the ground , launching himself at Kobushi. He swung the Kama in his left hand at the Genin's left arm, aiming for his elbow. He kept his eyes fixed on his opponents hands, just incase he would strike again.

When the kama hit Kobushi's elbow, he quickly flexed his arm to trap the weapon. Those who have fought him would know that his left limbs were prosthetics. He gave a jerk, trying to pull the kama from Takayuki's hand.

Taka hadn't known about the prothetics. It didn't matter though. Taka thought fast and had come up with a plan. As Kobushi jerked his arm , Taka freely let go of the kama and dropped the other. The lack of force of Taka's part would offset Kobushis balance and throw him off. This is where Taka made his move. With Kobushi's arm, no doubt flung out and away from him, Taka quickly grabbed onto Kobushi's shovel by the handle, gripping it tightly. He then yanked back in an attempt to pull the Genin closer to him. He planted his feet firmly on the ground, his dominant right foot behind the left to prevent falling. As he pulled, he outstretched his left hand towards the boys throat. If all went as planend, he would grip Kobushi by his neck and then shove him to the ground, where he would then procede to get ontop of him and do some good ol' ground n' pound on the Genin's face..

It worked. While Taka was pounding on Kobushi's face, the gennin, now having let go of the shovel, sent a right hook from the ground at his foe's ear.

Taka was struck in the head midswing, but he kept up with his attack. Feeling generous, Taka leapt up into the air and pulled two shuriken from his holder, throwing them down at him. When he landed, he touched his hear. Kobushi had hit him hard enough to give him colliflower((Sp?)) ear. It hurt, but he didn't pay attention to the pain. He got into a loose stance and began bouncing around, ready for what Kobushi would throw at him. 'Hope I didn't hurt the kid too badly... Eh, he's a ninja. He'll get over it.'
((How about we get rid of this OOC, shall we?))

The first shuriken hit Kobushi's chest, while the second one found itself in his right arm. Neither of them went in very deep. The layer of chainmail in the gennin's coat kept then from being a serious problem. Slowly, he got back up, holding his face in his right hand. "Mmn. Ow." Kobushi lowered his hand and spit out a little blood from his bleeding gums. "Not as bad as Manndar's endurance training, heheh."
The genning jumped back and threw a bundle of about ten paperbombs to the ground about a meter from taka's feet.
