I read an interesting tale form Japanese mythology awhile ago..about these two people who were, I guess, like Adam and Eve (can't remember thier names sweatdrop ), only "Eve" died in childbirth because the child she gave birth to was consumed by fire. "Adam" got mad and killed the child, I think, and then he went to Hades to claim his wife again. Only something happened and he ended up leaving her there, and the dead "Eve" said she was going to start to claim living people to go to Hades and be with her (the beginning of mortality?). I think she became a "Lady Death". "Adam" replied that he could keep producing more people just as she claimed more people, so she would never take away all life.

So...ya, and one of his children became the god/goddess (can't remember which) of the sun, who could take the form of a wolf, and the Emperors of Japan are supposed to be descendant from this very sun god/goddess.

That's the only tale I really am familiar with. What's the link to that site? I wouldn't mind checking it out.

As far as the Mythos goes, I've always been fond of Inari and his/her (Inari tends to change gender through out historical lore many times) Kitsune...
As far as folklore goes, I've always had a fascination with the many kinds of Oni, Obake and Kwaidan.

Izanagi and Izanami--the Japanese Adam and Eve. Their daughter was Amaterasu is the Sun Goddess, who at one time hid herself in a cave and had to be coaxed back out by trickery so light would once again shine on the world, banishing the demons. Or on this site--me.

I remember reading that story with a cousin of mine. He loves mythology ^_^ He was also fond of Fu Xi and Nu Wa of Chinese mythology, I guess they're pretty much the Chinese "Adam and Eve" XD

The general myths of the kitsune have enthralled me. ^^ We're like Succubus/Will-O-Wisp/Psychic-Vampire hybrid. (We're also too good for one gender) 3nodding I haven't heard many stories about Oni yet. sweatdrop They sound scary though. xd

Oooo~ I used to watch that~ Uncle is my favourite character. xd But it's gone now for my channel. crying My favourite episode is where they fought a Chinese vampire. (Which is astoundingly similar to a psychic vampire)

Lugh
Yeah, I love Uncle, and Jade, She's kick a**~

But yeah, psy-vamps are usually not very prominant in mythology. The blood suckers are commonly heard almost everywhere, but the ones that drain one's energy and emotions, aren't really as 'popular' to phrase it correctly. XD

Yeah, they gotta stay in hiding after all. Some people even believe they still exist. It's kinda creepy too if you think about it.

I'm quite found of the Ho-ou (Japanese phoenix), Amatsu-Mikaboshi (the god of Japanese Soku-no-kumi/Hell, darkness and the stars) and the seven gods of luck. I've always found it ironic that Amatsu-Mikaboshi's name means August star of heaven, although he is not actually an evil god or Satan it's still kind of ironic lol.
