Hailstar took the lower branch to the right on the tree. He waited expectantly. It seemed that ThunderClan was the first there.
Lotuspaw climbed the log across the water. The Island was quiet. They were obviously the first ones there because no voices greeted Lotuspaw.

Nightpaw looked around at how empty the island was, then she thought about how soon it would be swarming with more cats from the other clans. She looked up at the full moon, not a cloud in sight. I hope StarClan doesn't get angry tonight...

Brackenpaw followed his leader across the log that made the Island accessible. This was his second Gathering so far, meaning he was doing well in his training. He considered it a great honor for his Leader to choose him twice in a row. In his Clan, only two apprentices were chosen to come to the Gatherings. Rainpaw was with him, walking along side him. He glanced over at her and a secret smile escaped him.
Rainpaw sighed as she crossed the log. Brackenpaw had allowed her to go first. They were both following close behind Ravenstar, their fearless, tempermental Leader. Her Father. Sometimes, she hated the fact that her Father was the Leader. All of the other cats accused her of getting special treatment. In all reality though, her Father was tougher on her than anyone else.
Ravenstar leapt up onto the branch where Hailstar was perched. He allowed his Clan to settle, watching Rainpaw and Brackenpaw carefully. After a while, however, he decided to acknowledge Hailstar's presence. He gave a small nod and spoke. "How is prey running for ThunderClan?" He asked, whiskers twitching ever so slightly.
Rainpaw stayed close to Brackenpaw, eyeing the ThunderClan apprentices with unease. She hissed when her friend darted off towards one of them.
"Lotuspaw!" Brackenpaw mewed excitedly. "How is everything?" He asked, glancing back at Rainpaw with an apologetic look. She sat close beside him all the same, this being her first gathering, she was nervous.

((It's Lotuspaw's first Gathering. So they know each other from continuously meeting on patrols lol. Is that ok?))
"Brackenpaw! I didn't think i'd see you at the Gathering. You were quite serious on that last border patrol. It's a wonder that we continue to pass each other. Where are the other clans?" Lotuspaw asked the tom.
Hailstar looked at the ShadowClan leader. His tail swung like a pendulum behind him.
"Graciously."

((Oops. Forgot that it was Lotuspaw's first gathering....))
Brackenpaw purred laughter. "I apologize, Lotuspaw. I take my training very seriously...." He looked around the Island. "I don't know. RiverClan and WindClan aren't usually late...." He blinked and then glanced at Rainpaw. "Lotuspaw, this is my friend, Rainpaw." He introduced the two she-cats.
Rainpaw nodded to Lotuspaw. "Hello." She mewed.
Ravenstar nodded. "That's good." He said dismissively. With a flick of his ear, he laid down. It was unusual for RiverClan to be late to a Gathering. WindClan was late as well, which didn't bode well.

"Hi!" Lotuspaw purred, "I always look forward to meeting new cats."

Ravenstar shrugged dismissively. "As well as can be expected." He mewed, sitting up as a she-cat crossed the log to the Island, an entire Clan in tow. "There's WindClan." He mewed, green eyes sparking to life.
Rainpaw smiled shyly. "Wish I were more like you then." She mewed.
Brackenpaw shook his head. "Nonsense, Rainpaw. If you were more like Lotuspaw, thne you wouldn't be you." He mewed.
Rainpaw purred, tail waving behind her happily.
Breezestar crossed the Island, her long slender build easily seen in the starlit darkness due to her white fur. She leapt up onto the lowest limb with ease, then jumped up to the branch above that, to meet the two toms, Hailstar and Ravenstar. "Nice to see you both well." She purred, her tail curling around her paws delicately as she sat, running her tongue over a forepaw chastely.

Hailstar nodded at the WindClan leader.
"Welcome Breezestar." he greeted.
Tonight was going to be interesting. "Where is RiverClan?"
Lotuspaw's tail curled. Maybe Brackenpaw and Rainpaw have a thing? she wondered.

Ravenstar scoffed. "On their way, hopefully. They're the closest ones to the Island and they're late!" He hissed irritably. His tail lashed at the night air, almost unseen for his black fur.
Breezestar sighed. "Calm yourself, Ravenstar. It makes no sense to get your tail twisted like that." She shook her head. "I'm sure that they are coming as fast as they can." She glared at the stubborn tom with her yellow eyes.
Ravenstar let out an annoyed hiss, but quieted.
Volepaw sat alone, in silent observation, as she always did. She was close to the Apprentices, just so she wouldn't be amongst the Warriors or Medicine Cats.
Rainpaw sighed as she looked around. "RiverClan are so late!" She mewed. She glanced at Volepaw momentarily, but dismissed her presence.
Brackenpaw nodded. "Very late, indeed." He agreed.

Hailstar continued to twitch his tail, though impatiently now. He was ready to get started, but RiverClan was delaying his plans.
Lotuspaw glanced behind Rainpaw.
"Volepaw? Care to join us? I'm sure you're welcome." she smiled.

Volepaw's ears twitched and swiveled into Lotuspaw's direction. How did the new Apprentice know her name? She was older than all of the Apprentices. Finally, she glanced over at the small she-cat, tail curling almost indignantly. She wasn't used to being spoken to so out right. "No, thank you. I am perfectly fine right here." She mewed quietly, glancing back up at the stars.
Rainpaw cleared her throat. "You'll have to excuse her, Lotuspaw. She's like that." She smiled. "Volepaw is the daughter of Breezestar, just as I am the daughter of Ravenstar." She gestured towards the large tree in the middle of the Island.
Brackenpaw watched Volepaw for a while, then looked back at his two friends. "I've only met her once before. She didn't talk much then, either." He mewed.

((I'm soooooo sorry!!!! Now i'm doing it!!! crying I will try not to do that again.))
Lotuspaw flicked a bug away from her ear. She was upset that she had been brushed away.
"My mother was Hailstar's sister. But, she died when I was a kit."
Her mind flicked back to her dream. Lotuspaw shuddered.
"But Hailstar doesn't seem to want me much as a relative."
