Hello.

WARNING: Basic n00b questions below this point.

1. Can Stealth Rocks/Spikes/Leech Seed be blocked with protect?
2. Can Blastoise make a decent Lead? (I fear the answer is obvious...)

I'm trying to create a team of: Venusaur, Blastoise, Typhlosion, Mamoswine, Umbreon. Can anyone see any other pokemon fitting into a team like this? I know it's a n00b thing to try and make a team out of your favorite pokemon, but I figured it'd be more fun to try and do that instead of just assembling a regular team of generic OU pokemon like Tyranitar, Salamence, ect.

Any input would be appreciated. Just asking if something like this could work. Thanks.

Okay, lemme give this a shot.
1. Stealth Rock and Leech Seed go around Protect, however Leech Seed is blocked by Protect since it's sent toward the pokemon itself, iirc.
2. Not so much. The closest thing Blastoise can do to lead a team would be to knock away SR/Spikes/ToxicSpikes with Rapid Spin.
I have a few random additions that may aid this team you may be working on here.
-Magnezone/Luxray/Raichu/Jolteon
-Hitmonchan/Hitmontop/Machamp/Hariyama

A fighting type or an Electric type looks like it'll fit into the team.
Sorry if that wasn't too much help but...

Blastoise won't do you much good in front, unless you can guaruntee a 1 hit KO on any suicide Leads.

I figured my canon turtle of amazing awesomeness wouldn't work well as a lead.

Would Electabuzz survive in OU? I don't really want to use Electivire...

Maybe also Lucario?

I like them both. Which one would fit better overall?

Thank you guys very much. Very much appreciated.

in my opinion electebuzz is pretty badass and trained right can take down a lv 100 non ev trained palkia AND a dialga (thats right I tested it) but in competitive battling you would be dead in the water with this choice...

so I would go with the OU lucario.... *Sigh*

Alright, so I changed my lineup:

Frosslass - Lead
Venusaur - Standard Set
Blastoise - Special Attacker
Typhlosion - Choice Scarf Mixed Sweeper
Umbreon - Trap Passer
Lucario - Physical attacker

Should I set up a RMT? Would anyone be interested?
