"In every loss, in every lie, in every truth that you'd deny...
Alright, so, for those that don't know, I'm a fan of the Legend of Zelda series. And while that may be great and all, it poses a problem: After a while, repeat playthroughs make the games a bit... boring.
Well, a little while ago someone I know told me about what is called as the "Three Heart Challenge." For those that don't know Zelda (If someone like that even exists) The life meter in the Zelda games is shown as a number of hearts. Three hearts is the number you start with, and the maximum number of obtainable hearts is 20.
So, the three heart challenge basically means that you play the game WITHOUT getting any extensions to your health meter, finishing the game with the basic health meter of three hearts. Interesting idea, no?
So. Some people I talk to, when they find out that I three heart challenge these games, think I'm out of my mind. What do you think?
Also, for those curious, I am in the process of Three Heart Challenging The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask right now.

I'm too much of a collector in the Zelda series. Or any game, for that matter XD I don't want to start over on what I'm in the middle of, right now lol You should still update us on how you're holding up, though! =D

Wouldn't be much to update, unfortunately, since I'm almost done with the game itself. I've got the Stone Tower Temple left to do, then it's time to take on Majora.
After I beat this one, I'm planning on taking on Windwaker in the same fashion. So the possibility of updates is still there, at least. xd

I tried that for twilight primness, got past the second dungeon, and then had to leave my wii behind again for school :'(, but makes me wonder what other games you could adapt this to.

I tried it with Twilight Princess on the Gamecube a while back, but it was my ex-girlfriends copy and I no longer have access to it.
As for what versions it's adaptable to, I believe it should work with most newer games. I once tried it with A Link to the Past, but was angered that the pendant I needed after beating the first boss (I believe it was the Armos Knights) wouldn't appear until after you get the heart container.
I'm not entirely sure, but I think it will work with Link's Awakening. It's been a looooong time since I've played it, so I don't remember.

Heh... the Stone Temple.... That where I left off on Majora's Mask.... In the middle of it, was distracted by other events and possibly a game, completely forgot where I was and what I was doing. Couldn't pick back up where I left off. For some reason =/ Then, more distractions until I just forgot. I was going to get help, but I just need to start asking people who are willing to help XD I'll get back on it, though =3
There was a point, a while ago, I didn't think I actually needed them. My brother was watching me and got after me for picking up all the hearts and rupees that I found, when I didn't even have room for them. So, I didn't take the containers after the first one. I didn't notice that it gave me one more heart, just that it filled up a lot. Didn't think I needed the big hearts for a while XD Then he told me what they were (after I saw how many he had, haha) and I just wanted them after that. Haha

Majora's Mask would probably be the hardest one to complete this challenge on. I think the rest will be a cake walk for you.

I'm actually having no problem with Majora's Mask. Then again, the first game that I did this one was Ocarina of Time: Masterquest, so... xd

Majora is so easy with the Fierce Deity mask, it's not even funny. xd I just beat him. Trying to decide when to start WindWaker.

You're right about how easy the game gets with that mask. But, Zelda games have never been know for their difficulty.

Questing Ain't What it Used to Be... That would be impossible for me. Lol. I need all of the boosts that I can get. I still have to buy Twilight Princess for my Wii, that game is the only reason that I wanted the Wii. I haven't played any Zelda since my N64!

"Every scar is a lesson...
I'm a huge Zelda fan. Right now, I'm wearing a Zelda hat, a Triforce belt buckle, a Triforce wristband, and a Hylean Shield wristband.I've played every Zelda game except for the DS ones now.
Also, this concept applies to other games as well with a little creative thinking... Could be easily switched to the Metroid series.

This is hard for me to do because I am an item collector. I hate leaving things behind. But, maybe if I had collected them all before I wouldn't mind leaving them.
