Silent Hill : Angel Within
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A silent dream was all the man knew. It felt like such a wonderful existence, floating there alone in the warm blackness. He had no sense of self, he just was, and an overwhelming feeling of contentment consumed him because of this. Past experiences began to replay themselves all around him, indistinguishable from one another, yet all emanating an overwhelming sense of joy and happiness which transfused itself with him. He was happy, warm and safe and everything was perfect. Then the images started to slowly drift past him, surrounding him, engulfing him, changing from the comfort of before into incomprehensible images, unnatural things, things he couldn't have created in the darkest depths of his imagination. Scenes of death, of war and carnage played out in front of him, all around him, and contentment was quickly devoured and replaced with fear which itself developed into terror, and he suddenly knew just how alone and vulnerable he was. Panic took him, an urge to escape, to get out of where ever he was, to be released from the blackness before it consumed him entirely. The things span and merged before him, great faces and bodies writhing together, so small and yet at the same time larger then anything natural should ever be. The faces were mocking him, taunting and laughing, mouthing harsh formless noises, calling to him, wanting him, consuming him, taking him piece by piece. He knew at once that the moment he was theirs he'd cease to be, would never have been and would never know... something... Everything began to spin around him, no, he realised, it was he himself spinning, drowning, all the noises and sights blurring and merging, becoming one mass assault upon his senses, deafening, blinding and nauseating him all at once. Just as it became too much to bear and he screamed out in agony it was all pulled away from him in an instant. He woke up.
It took a few moments for consciousness to return to him, and after a few seconds he tried to open his eyes, immediately regretting it as a jolt of pure agony shot through his head. "Man, I hate hangovers" he mumbled to himself, slowly sitting up. Lifting his bleary eyelids once more and blocking out the mind numbing pain in his head he squinted at his surroundings as the bizarre dream ebbed quickly away from his mind. The room was dark, illuminated poorly by two windows set into one wall. These failed to actually show anything within the room itself, with the light provided by each being grey and lifeless, serving only to indicate that the room did in fact have two windows. His head ached like the aftermath of a week long drinking binge and all his joints ached in union. What he had been lying on was extremely hard, so probably a floor rather then a bed or couch, and as he reached down to steady himself he placed his palm upon something cold and wet, squishing it under his hand. Pushing himself unsteadily to his feet, he realised that the whole front of his body was sticky and wet. What the hell happened last night? he wondered as he staggered forward in the darkness, arms outstretched as he stumbled blindly over some unseen lump on the floor. Reaching out he walked forward, slower this time, until he found a wall. Following it with his hands, he slowly made his way along the wall, in the process knocking what he assumed was a picture by the sound of splintering glass to the floor. "s**t". He continued on until he reached what felt like a doorframe. Feeling the wall around it a faint sense of triumph came across him as he found the familiar shape of a light switch. Grinning in the darkness, he flipped it on and turned around. He wasn't prepared for the sight before him, not by a long shot, and within seconds he had fallen to his knees and began to dry heave loudly. After a few minutes the heaving subsided and he sat back on his haunches, looking around at the scene before him once more. He was in what looked to be some kind of living room, for there were two sofas, a bookcase and a television in the room, along with a small broken coffee table in the centre. The carpets and walls, both of an off yellow colour, were coated in a crimson red substance, clearly blood, along with lumps of grey and red matter and what looked to be bone. Continuing to look around it became quickly obvious where they had come from. Slumped at various places around the room were four bodies, although the one he couldn't move his eyes from was the in the centre of the room. It had fallen through the coffee table, breaking it clean in half, and its most distinguishing feature was the bloody stump where its head should have been. He just sat there unblinking, staring at it as if it couldn't be real. It had clearly been female once, dressed in a long brown skirt and blouse, both also covered in blood and organic matter, and close to her, no, not her anymore but now it, close to it on the ground was a shotgun. All the other bodies were covered in blood and matter also, though it was hard to tell whether they were dead or not, and the room smelt like an abattoir. The cold, creeping sensation of shock began to set in as his thoughts slowed, and as he looked down he saw what the warm sticky substance was down his front; his combat jeans and vest top, both once green, were coated in blood and small, bloody lumps. Trying to think, to recall something, anything, he realised that he couldn't remember what had happened, who these people were, where he was or even who he was. He couldn?t remember a single ********>

Suddenly without warning a jolt woke her and with a panicy cry she realised she was awake. Slowly coming to her senses she realised she wasnt in a place that was familiar to her, and for some reason she could remember nothing, not her name, where she lived, what she did for a living or even her age!!! "What the hell is going on???? Who turned on the lights my head is killing me!!!" Looking around the room slowly the true horror started to sink in of her surroundings and she came more and more aware that things were truely horrifying, lying all around her were bodies, one was in the centre on a broken glass coffee table or at least it looked like a person.....it had the general shape of a female figure but there was no head....just a bloody stump where the head should have been. In pure shock she tried to crawl backwards away from the figure but realised she was in a corner of a room and couldnt get any further away. She quickly averted her eyes and looked around at the other figures lying near her, they were all covered with blood and grey matter she concluded this was from the body in the centre of the room either that or they were all dead too, she noticed the guy sitting across the room from her and wondered if he was the one who had done such a horrific thing to the body laying before them.... "Hey!! Did you do that to her???? Who are you??? And where the hell am i????" Looking back at the body she noticed the shotgun lying close to the figures hand.....wonder if i should pick it up before he goes for me too???? Suddenly a tremendous stabbing pain shot through her head she curled into a ball and held her head tightly shutting her eyes, then something came back to her the dream she was having before she awoke. The dream was like one she hadnt dreamt in a long time, the flashes, the images they all reminded her of something she was trying to get to, something she was meant to do or was it somewhere she had been before?.......either way she hadnt had this dream in a long time and she really didnt want to be having it again now but for all her trying she couldnt stop the images and couldnt wake up......

Sitting there in a state of shock the man didn't even notice the figure in the corner of the room wake up. Her words barely registered is his mind, but it was enough to snap him back to reality. Before he got a chance to reply she was curled up once more, shaking and convilsing in the corner. Without even thinking he got up and shot across the room to where she laid.
"Are you ok? Come on, wake up, speak to me!"
He shook her but it made no difference; her eyes remained closed and she just shook and shook. Great, he thought to himself, This is just perfect. We need an ambulance at least.
With that thought he reached into his pockets, but there was no mobile. Her words still rang through his mind as he searched his pockets
"Did you do that to her???? Who are you???"
He couldn't answer either of the questions and that was really beginning to worry him. Looking down he emptied his pockets onto the ground. A wallet, a pack of smokes and a ******** pulled one of the smokes out and lit it, vainly hoping it would steady his nerves somewhat. Flipping the lighter closed he saw that it was infact engraved with the words: 'All My LoveTo My Darling always, Samantha'
Stooping backdown and trying to ignore the scene around him he tried once more to wake the women again.

The pain in her head was getting worse and she was aware of someone speaking to her but she didnt recognise the voice slowly she opened eyes and heard clearer the man from across the room speaking to her "Are you ok? Come on, wake up, speak to me!" suddenly she realised he was kneeling the side of her with a startled jolt she shuffled away from him letting out a little gasp as she did. "Get away from me what are you doing??"

"Whoa! Look, just calm down there alright? Im not gonna hurt you so just damn well chill alright??"
His hands shaking, he tried to ignore everything behind him and just focus on what was happening now. Taking a long draw on his cigarette in an attempt to calm his nerves, he stood up and began to speak.
"Look, Ill level with you. I have no idea who you are or what the ******** happened here. Any light you can shed on this would be really appreciated"
He turned round once more to face the room. They were still all there, the other two bodies spawled across the sofas, the broken coffee table, the glass, the blood.... the blood.... So much damn blood, all from the mangled mess in the middle of the floor.
Or is it?
Panicing slightly, he began to pad himself down looking for any cuts or wounds of his own. Convinced that he was fine, he turned to face the women behind him.

She sat there watching him as he got up and started talking to her, how can he not know what was going on...he had been awake
"Look, Ill level with you. I have no idea who you are or what the ******** happened here. Any light you can shed on this would be really appreciated"
"How the hell am i supposed to know what went on...i only just woke up while you seem to have been awake the whole time!!! Whats your name?? what were you doing here?? who's is....i mean was that who is now lying in the coffee table??? and are those others dead???"
As she waited for his answers she decided it was probably best to try and stand make sure she wasnt hurt, she stood up and walked over to a mirror in the room, she didnt feel any pain and looking at her reflection she saw no visable injuries. She got lost in her reflection just standing there looking back at herself she seemed so plain so normal she stood 6ft tall...a little tall for a woman but she liked it, her olive skin showed the italian blood in her. she had long black hair with red highlights, dark eyes and full lips. she had an athletic figure and it was dressed in a tight black t-shirt, black leather trousers and heavy new rock boots. Laying next to where she had woken was a black backpack and a long leather jacket.... I wonder if those are mine?? she thought to herself and realised they must be otherwise why would they have been next to her?? I suppose i could have a look inside them see if anything looks familiar and she slowly made her way over to where she had woken earlier still awaiting the mans answers.

"Awake the whole time?"
There was a distinct edge of anger in his voice as he uttered these words
"Ive been awake for a couple of minutes. Get your facts right before you start throwing accusations at people, ok?"
Shouting this last sentence he turned away from the women and froze stock still when he saw the corpse again. Sighing, he flicks the ash off of his cigarette and turns back to her
"Look, Im sorry. Like I said, I woke up a few minutes ago and can't remember a thing. I don't know my name or why I'm here. I have no idea who she was" he indicates the corpse, "and I have no idea if the other two are alive. I was kinda hoping you would know but it doesn't look that way..."
Taking a long drag off of his cigarette, he suddenly remembers his manners and reaches into his pocket to offer her one, in doing so dropping his wallet once more to the floor. Bending down, he picks it up and has a look inside.
"Hmmm.... Theres a drivers licence here."
Standing up once more, he glances at himself in the mirror then back down to the licence.
"Yup, thats definatly me. Apparently I'm called Theodor Berkowitz. Looks like I'm a Ted."
Continuing to look through he sees that he's from Brahms and that his date of birth is the 29/10/1978.
Hmmm. So I have a name. Always useful.

"I was just saying how it looked ok!!! you cant help jumping to conclusions when you wake up in this sort of situation"
She took him up on his offer of a cigarette and took a long deep drag..."well it seems i smoke"
"So your name is Ted then is it??? well Ted nice to meet you and once i get to what i think is my bag maybe we can shed some light on who i am"
She walked over to the black rubber backpack that was laying where she had been sitting and sat next to it...slowly opening the top of the bag she timidly looked in not remembering what was in there. She looked into the blackess and then slowly placed her hand in pulling out a purse, cigarette tin and a zippo. she opened up the wallet and desperately searched for some I.D she found bank cards and finally a Bike license in the name of Amelia Sachs "HHuuumm looks like my name is Mia and i can drive a motorbike, it also says may DOB is October 31 1974 and im from New Orleans......well you learn something new everyday" she let out a little giggle and dragged off her cigarette again. "So Ted what do we do now???

He nodded at her. Mia huh?
"Nice name. What to do now really is a good question.... Should we call the police? Theres really no point in checking to see if shes ok now is there? And this is a crime scene..."
Would calling the police really be a good idea?
"And no worries about before, I just snapped. Sorry"

She slowly closed her bag back up and fastened it securely then looked up at ted and wondered what he did actually remember....
"Nice name. What to do now really is a good question.... Should we call the police? Theres really no point in checking to see if shes ok now is there? And this is a crime scene..."
"I dont think calling the police would achieve much do you??? i mean i know i cant remember anything,....can you???? so us answering theyre questions would just make us look guilty plus we have probably contaminated this crime scene enough to incriminate us in her death! Maybe we should check the other bodies tho??? Or we could just leave them and try and find a way out of here....."
She waited to see what his reaction would be to her suggestions and while doing so she took in the scene around her one more time, she couldnt quite believe where she had ended up, why was she here???, who had put her here??? who was the woman in the table??? who were the other two bodies???? all these questions made her head hurt again so she quietly put her head down between her arms and closed her arms hoping not to worry ted again

The previous horror was slowly leaving him and being replaced with a light numbness.
Probably shock he mused to himself.
There seemed to be sense in her words though, leading the police into this was probably not the best of ideas, not at the moment anyway. Not till he could remember what he has or hasn't done. Not yet then...
"Look, we need help. I say we don't even touch those" he made vauge indications towards the other bodies, "Lets just get out of here for now. Lets get some help"
He offered his hand to the curled up woman.

after a moments pause she took his hand to help herself to her feet, she reahed down picked up her bag and long leather jacket and was stratled to see a bike helmet underneath it is this mine??? she wondered to herself, regardless she put the jacket on and her backpack and picked up the helmet.
She started walking towards the door behind ted when she stoped and looked at the body on the floor, she quickly turned round and picked up the shotgun lying near the body
"Well it may have my prints on it now, but there is no way im going exploring without knowing who or what did that to her and why were here without some bloody protection!!!"
With that she carried on heading for the door......

Did she really just do that? Great... But she has a point I suppose...
"C'mon, lets just get out of here. I can't stand the smell anymore"
With that, Ted opened the door and left the room with Mia in tow.

[[There is a hallway beyond the door. It is dimly illuminated by grey light from a door at the end (more then likely the enterance to the building) and there are no other forms of light. On the left there is a set of stairs going upwards, with a small door set into the side of the staircase (probably a cupboard of some kind). At the far end of the right wall there is another doorway. There is also a small table with a phone and a few magazines strewn about. Aside from that the hallway is pretty much empty.]]

She walked into the hallway and after having a cautious look from around the doorway she was walking out of!!!
When she realised the hallway was empty she ran for the front door hoping in vain that it would be open and she could get out of this hell hole, as she got there she tried the door to no avail, it didnt budge "s**t" she shouted.
she noticed the telephone dont suppose this will work either as she lifted the reciever she heard nothing no dial tone no nothing GOD DAMN THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!
She turned to see ted standing looking at her
"Sorry i just suppose i hoped we could get out of here i guess we should have a look around to see if there is anyone else is in this house before we leave it.....You ok ted????"
