Currently it's 2: 00 a.m and I'm fully awake. My sleeping hours has been ruined because of my surgery, but not pain etc, unless I need to swallow. It feels like I'm tearing something, but thankfully I check now and then and all good. I'd like to hear your guys's wisdom teeth stories. Here is mine:
The same day I met the oral surgeon was the same day I had them removed. They and I decided to best put me to sleep. They hooked me up to a machine and my hear rate was 140 and my pulse was 99(of course it went up and down) So yea, I was nervous, cause I've never experienced something like this before. They were right however, that right when your put out, you basically awake. I don't remember any dreaming or etc. I felt like a 80 year old man getting out of the seat though. Really woozy and could walk without help, but I felt good too razz
They had to remove all four teeth, two in which were impacted and the other two on the top were coming out already(not lose coming out though). Those two impacted I'm guessing, they had to break into piece, but when I put them all together. I get only three and a half wisdom, so I'm guessing they had to leave a piece there. He said, "During this procedure, I may have to leave a piece of one of your wisdom. Which later on, would come out on it's own"

I had mine removed 2 or 3 years ago. I hadn't met my oral surgeon before, but he had a very good reputation at my family's dental office.
I was sedated for my wisdom teeth removal, and not completely knocked out. I do remember it hurting, me saying "Ow!" and then them giving me another shot of novacaine (sp?) wherever I said it hurt, and that happened a few times. I don't think it took too long, no more than an hour or two? I had stitches put in, and they were supposed to dissolve in like a week or something.
I spent the rest of the day at home resting. I remember napping for a long time. Within 24 hours I was eating solid food like pizza. The downside of the thing was I accidently pulled out a couple of my stitches, so I have some small gaps in the back where my teeth used to be.
Both my younger brother and I had all 4 of our wisdom teeth removed at once. Both of us had 2 impacted teeth - my brother's were worse than mine, and both of us came out fine.
By comparison, my ex was completely knocked out for his wisdom teeth removal, and he was pretty out of it when his friend brought him home. From what I remember, he had more pain than I did too, plus the spot where they had the IV in him. So personally if given a choice, I'd recommend sedation over being unconscious - and always get an *oral surgeon* to do the surgery - a dentist is NOT qualified, at least not in BC.

I had my wisdom teeth removed with I was 17, just after my birthday. I was getting them removed for braces I still haven't gotten. Come to find out, I wouldn't have even had to get them removed. talk2hand
When I got to the surgeon, they sedated me heavily but I was so scared that I started crying. The nurses were so kind, but kept telling me not to cry because I needed to breathe. The surgeon was pretty quick, but I started to get sick and he had to stop for a minute. He got pissed because he knew he could have gotten them out faster except that one of them broke. He apologized over and over for not getting them out faster. I cried harder.
Finally when they were done, I got up real slow and was all tired. When I got home, my orders were to sleep as much as I want and eat soft stuff like noodles or jello or applesauce for 24 hours. Of course, I get home and my grandpa tells my grandma, "Leave her alone, she's sedated and the nurses said to just let her sleep as long as she wants. Again, leave her alone." My grandma woke me up every 15 minutes to ask if I was okay. gonk I had very little problems with it though.
To compare as well:
My husband got his pulled while he was in Marine bootcamp. He got like two shots of Novocaine for all four teeth. Pulled, the end. Got hit in the mouth four hours later by the drill instructor. Yeah..he had it worse than I.

Got hit in the mouth four hours later by the drill instructor. Yeah..he had it worse than I. If I was your husband at that moment, I'd have probably murdered the instructor right on the spot. Then spit and yell in his face, that'd hurt so badly! Right now, my teeth still hurt, I'm probably going to quick taking the pain drugs, making me feel sick and it's only the third day.
