To the one that I serve

Do you think the various pantheons understand when some one is exploring various paths and seeing what the deities of the various paths are like? If so do you think they have a problem with people exploring other pantheons in addition to them (ie some one who has been working the last 3 years primarily with Nordic paganism looking into Egyptian Paganism and Greek Paganism)?

I was planing on honoring all of the deities seperatly (as in Greek with greek ritual, Norse with Norse ritual, witch deities with witchcraft rituals, and so on and so forth). That way I can keep track of the different rituals I do and the different experiences I have. My BoS already has different sections for the different paths.

I was just wondering on your thoughts.

As a race, as a species, we're pretty fickle little blighters. I think the Gods aren't so much understanding but tolerating. I highly doubt They make any investment in us without expecting a return in the short or long run.

I imagine that the best bonds, relationships and rewards come when one has settled with their chosen pantheon permanently. When a bond has been made with the Gods anyone would be a fool to break it. But They know us. They know of our uncertainty, and caution. Our inability to commit without investigation.
I imagine They expect this behaviour of us. I doubt They'd want us to make ties with Them and then spend the rest of our lives thinking "s**t, I wish I'd gone with the other pantheon."

I also think its as much Them trying us on for size as it is for us trying Them on. They need to know we're reliable, honest and committed before They take us on.

I used to explore them all at once but I got confused so I decided to do it one pantheon at a time. Then I sort of got stuck with the Norse lot xd I'd still very much like to research and honour at least some of the Netjer though.

It's mostly time restrictions at this point. I have a lot of other things to read through first and I'm not really finding the time lately.

With the way some places have become nowadays, like America is just one giant melting pot, of different heritages and cultures mixed together. I would think that the gods would at least tolerate it if not expect it.
The Romans and Egyptians mixed together somewhat and some believe the Egyptians and Celts did as well. It just has gone on throughout time. So I would think that it is okay. Especially if you keep them seperate, just be careful of not taking on too much at one time.

Which is why I taken a break between books and topics. Like I'll read something on Norse religions and deities. I'll do other reading then go to another path (like Greek or egyptian) ad I repeate the process. I keep seperate notebooks and journals.

The Romans adapted other Gods as they felt it would benefit them (such as war and when they would conquer another land) They felt if they were to worship the Gods of other lands (and worship better than those lands) then they would get favor of those Gods during war, which is what I believe that helped them build their Empire and keep it there. It wasn't until Rome became a Christian nation, and thus abandoning all the other Gods, that it began to fall.

So yes, I think it's perfectly fine. Gods don't care what your nationality or race is as long as you are giving them gifts and respecting them. At least in my opinion.

Yeah. I tried to do the same thing once. Now I am working on the Gods that have come to reveal themselves to me through my sabbats practiced.
