What's happenin' breakers? Here ya'll can discuss your favorite moves, dancers, beats to break to, or get some critique and/or insight on how to work on a move.

I noticed that a lot of b-boys (and b-girls) now a days just do a lot of power moves and tricks. Most of the time they forget about their foundation like top rocks, 6 steps and other footwork. Like I noticed on ABDC their was a crew of breakers, but they were just doing freezes, hand hops, flares, ect. I also noticed that they were fairly young.

Agreed. Get back to the roots, the power stuff is cool, but if thats all you do then it gets old and loses it's flavor

Yeah, and a lot of newer b-boys and b-girls I see lack their own style. They should watch the documentary "The Freshest Kids".

being a "retired" b-boy, unless you practice really young, you arent as flexible for one, so many of the moves you know and love to see, arent easy anymore. i know because i wanted to get back to it and i had to evolve to new things because i cant move the way i used to (thank god i can beat box still or id be done lol) but nowadays, flares, and stuff like that. the whole spinning on your head and stuff is very well do-able but most ppl tired of that. As far as beats, its anything that can inspire me to dance the second i hear it. if i have to find the rhythm in it, too much work for me (i am lazy, i know)
