Actually, I have absolutely no taste in music. But it's usually a fun thing to talk about
So, have a ball!

This thread was aimed at you, Liz...
'cause I don't really want "Baby Got Back" lyrics on our front page, as much as the song amuses me.

I am close to 100% music illiterate, which is why I made this thread.
So, I actually managed to completely miss that. What is 'opera metal', anyway?

I like these genres, in this general order: indie, vocal/ballad, new classical (such as one might find in a FFIV-FFX soundtrack), classical (such as that bloody fantastic organ fugue), classic rock, tango, swing/jazz, alternative rock, old punk rock, country, opera, techno, and a sprinkling of rap - mostly 'cause it's funny and has a good beat, occasionally because it's actually good.
This is a long-winded way of saying I listen to a lot of stuff. I do *not* listen to pop-punk, emo, metal, or any hybrid of those if I can *possibly* help it.

. . . and when I say metal, I mean the heavy/death metal that makes your ears bleed, not stuff like Metallica, which is considerably lighter than these things.

It honestly varies depending on my mood or what I'm doing. What I listen to when I work out is not the same as what I listen to when I'm just mellowing. One of my favorite bands is A Perfect Circle though, but then again another two are Funeral for a Friend and Thrice. The latter two are probably the kind of music I listen to most.
