Well first check the other market place prices
find the lowest 'buy now' price for your item
then put your 'buy now' price a little over the lowest ones
put it in the market for 14 days
and put the 'bid now' price a little bit under the lowest 'buy now price'
EXAMPLE:
Item has 2k lowest 'buy now' price
you put starting bid 1.8k, but now price 2.5k, for 14 days
you'll probably sell for the 2.5k

Another good idea is to put the item up for only a couple of hours, this will make people panic and try to get it the fastest,
This works best WITH a bid option as well, people will see it going up, and hit the buy now button, just to not fight with others
