Hey, so i noticed that we didn't have a thread about albums and your opinions on them so i decided that we needed one in here just post band name, album and your review of the album.. ill start
Chelsea Grin-Desolation of eden.
To start off chelsea grin is one of my favorite deathcore bands and this album is fresh out(2/16/10'). I wasnt a big fan of all the brakedowns through out the album they seemed to scattered(this is VERY rare for me to say)and all the songs seem to have the same idea to them but on the pluse side they all had very good production and guitar work but some of it just seems to drag on. i personally would have gone with more of a technical approach to the songs, i.e less brakedowns, more soloing/sweeps less blasts(rare for me to say again) and less Chanel swaping. but i do give props to the two re mastered tracks(Recreant,Cheyne Stokes). Over all i give this album 3 out of 5 stars. confused but i do suggest you listen to it and post your opinion wink

Well I guess I'll give it a shot, since I tend to critique way more than I should.
Nyx Secrets - Wildpath
When I first heard this album, I was actually blown away with how awesomely meshed the music was, and how well they had put it all together (wish I could say the same for the 2nd one). I found it to be a very well-rounded album that has great flow to it, along with many melodic and symphonic elements to it that make it that much more enjoyable for me. The female vocalist is like many other ones, but for some reason stood out to me, and I still don't know why. The guitar work in most of the tracks flows ever-so greatly, including the solos, rhythm, and riffs, that mesh very well with the rest of the band. My favorite track from it would have to be Ipsylos, because that's where the vocals shine IMO, and the guitar soloing on it is just utterly amazing for me. The only downside that I had with the album was that the drumming got a tad repetitive for me because a lot of it sounded the same, or very similar, not that it was that bad to begin with. I would classify this band as Melodic/Symphonic power metal, because they use both melodies and symphonies in their music.
I'm giving this album a 9/10
I suggest any person who likes female-fronted power metal, to check this band out, they're also from France, forgot to mention that.
