There are many various chants in the craft. We have all read many in books and heard(or said) many more in practice.
My question is do you have a favorite Chant/Incantion/Invaciotn/etc ?
If so what is it?
Let me think about this one..I'll come back and answer it as well...

by all that is above and all that is below is one of the ones I use the most.
When casting into circle my coven likes to use
by the earth that is her body by the air that is her sweet breath by the fire that is her bright spirit and by the waters of her living womb be all that is above and all that is below the circle is cast we are between worlds and what is between worlds can change worlds.

okay I meant to post this in my last post but gaia won't let me edit it and add it in for some reason...anyways...this is one of the first Chants I ever memorised. It is by Lady Sheba an author and woman who I have great respect for:
Darksome night and shining moon,
Hearken to the witches’ rune.
East then South, West then North,
Hear! Come! I call thee forth!
By all the powers of land and sea,
Be obedient unto me.
Wand and Pentacle and Sword,
Hearken ye unto my word.
Cords and Censer, Scourge and Knife,
Waken all ye into life.
Powers of the witch’s Blade,
Come ye as the charge is made.
Queen of Heaven, Queen of Hell,
Send your aid unto the spell.
Horned Hunter of the night,
Work my will by magic rite.
By all the powers of land and sea,
As I do say, “So mote it be.”
By all the might of moon and sun,
As I do will, it shall be done.
By Lady Sheba – 1974

I think I may have read that one before when I was younger.

Those two were beautiful but Faeru aren't coven's soulbound. So, you can't say what's happening in them?

Well first there are different traditions. I myself follow the reclaiming tradition. No covens are not soul bound, at least mine isn't and none of the other reclaiming ones I've hear of are, because we believe in re-birth and binding our souls isn't fair to our future lives. Yes it is polite to keep what happens in circle in circle BUT chants are alright to tell and you are welcome to speak of your own experience. You are right though I should have worded it differently and said when I cast circle I use (insert chant here). I won't discuss what exactly I do in my coven without their permission, although more than half of my coven is in the guild, but I am welcome to discuss my own experiences. How else though are we able to teach others the chants and practice without talking about the things we do?
My coven is a small one and we are reasonably young and still learning. We have been adopted into a larger coven of more experienced witches and they are currently teaching us the practice officially. They are teaching us the practice as they learned it and so we may also pass on our lessons to a younger generation when the time comes. From what I've learned it is alright to mension chants and certain traditions as long as I leave out other members. But again we are the reclaiming tradition.

I mean oath-bound I've known some people who covens are oathbound.

Another favorite is called the balance of the wheel...
Air moves us Fire transforms us Water shapes us Earth heals us And the balance of the wheel goes round and round and the balance of the wheel goes round.
