PSYCHOSELE: MARCH OF THE IMPERIUM

Psycho - Mind, Body, or Spirit; in this case, Spirit
Sele- Hollow

Literally meaning: one of hollow spirit

This OOC is for questions, comments, and cocerns in regard to the Psychosele RPs. Please try to keep OOC in the RPs to a minimum and just post it here instead. There will be no IC in this thread, because it's kind of pointless here...

The next two posts will be for character profiles and such.
The following posts will be for pictures and explanations to flesh out the feel and mood of the story and world and such.
Have fun!

You may join in as an Imperial Soldier, whether it be infantry or Spec Ops or whatever, Menace trooper (which varies greatly), a partisan, or a mercenary, or really whoever you feel like. Just take the profile, make a character, and post it somewhere in this thread. I'm taking the role of Onya, who is the main character of the series. Yes, it's a series. Imperial and Menace Special Forces will be listed shortly.

Age- 23

Bio- Kyle grew up as a member of the lower class. He did go to school for about 2 years. His father was a carpenter; Mother a midwife. Kyle eventually decided that he would become rich; very rich. He also promised his parents he would make them proud and would buy them a big house, a mansion, a palace! He started a sports team and became rich. His name was known throughout the Imperium lands. He went to night school and completed his education. He got married to the girl he had a crush on back when he went to school. Then his life would turn around. Thats when the war started and his father was recruited. Kyle tried to bribe the government but his father refused. Kyle's promise was in sight he was going to buy them a house but neither of them would ever see it. His father was captured by the Menace. His mother committed suicide because of his disappearance. Kyle couldn't believe it. His life was perfect! But now it's gone. He wanted revenge. People said he was interragated by the Menace leader himself. Therefore, Kyle joined the Infantry. He wanted to kill the Menace, all of them. The military stationed him at Namus Rock, hoping his vengefull attitute would lead the men around him. He not only wanted to kill the Menace, he wanted their leader as well. He wanted the leader for himself. Kyle knew he had a reason for this war that some others didn't. That's why he would keep his cool. He wouldn't flip out. He would remain in control... like his father taught him.

Name- Spec Ops Leiutenent Brian Landry
Age- 25
Affliation- Imperium
Appearance- Stands around 5'9 and has a very "Classic" Italian Mafia hairstyle, slicked back and not going anywhere anytime soon. He has the standard Spec Ops gear, and usually only wears the helmet during missions. He has a lean build, with a few muscles, due to hard training to get to Spec Ops, and has polychromic eyes.
Armor- I am guessing the Elite Shock troops are the Spec Ops.
Weapons- IPBR Mk IV, Stymann Semi-auto pistol, HEWP Fragmentation Grenade, Classic Galdius, Mainz style
Abilities- Quiet when wanted, ability to fire a weapon.
Other-
Bio- Brian was born to a low class family, and they struggled through life, trying to get food, earn some cash, and basically survive. They had a broken down shack, which they built themselves, and a gang roamed right outside their front door. When his father was convicted with a crime he did not do, and was executed, Brian and his mother sought other ways of getting money, and food. One, steal it. Two, beg. or Three, send Brian off to some military school or some other. They decided on the latter, but before they could get the papers all signed, his mother died from a fever. Brian couldn't sign them himself, so the papers had to be taken back to the base. Brian had been so close to getting money for his family, or what family he had left, and it was taken away in the blink of an eye. He decided that, since the gang roamed just outside of the door, he might as well join it. So, he went through initiation, and did what they told him to do. The gang grew larger, and became famous among the plebs as "The Liberatores" The Pleb speak for The saviors. Once they had become too famous, the government sent out a squad of security and some infantry to take them out. The Liberatores heard about this from a Plebeian close to the capital. The Liberatores conjured a crude, but effective ambush, and awaited the squad to attack. Brian was behind a building when the squad passed by, and he did his part. He silently crept up on them and took out the last squadmember, without anyone else noticing and then took his gun. He had been taught earlier how to use it when the gang grew famous, and so he ran back to cover and aimed at the commander's head. The bullet was sent to the commander and it hit him right in the middle of the back of the skull. The squad scattered, but alas, it was too late. The Liberatores had already begun to strike. Brian picked out the squad members from his cover as the others attacked from their hiding places. A few Liberatores were taken down in the fray, but they won the battle. The helmets' camera feeds captured everything and sent it back to the command post. The camera feed took a little while to make it there, because they were so far from the capital, so Brian had enough time to make the whole attack count. When the first man's feed made it to the capital, the squad was already down and out. The feed captured Brian as he took out the man, and dragged his body away from the squad, and then taking the gun. Then when the commander's feed made it there and they saw the blood spatter over the visor of the helmet and the ground rushing up, they knew that Brian would be a great candidate for the Spec Ops group. They thought, since it was so harsh, that either he would be punished for this crime by dying in the training, or he would become a soldier, disciplined and a very loyal one at that. Well, long story short, he made it through the training and was one of the most loyal of the battlion he was in. A guy talks bad of the government, he is taken out by him the next day by Brian, telling the CO about it, and getting permission to do so. Well, he was in there from since he was about 16 to now, when he is 25. He moved up in ranks, from Private to whatever he was now, and helped to eliminate the Liberatores through his extensive knowledge of their hideouts and other such things. He was a very valuable asset at the time, and was very helpful in eliminating gangs and such. Now, the whole empire is under attack, and he is anxious to go to battle against a real enemy.

Name- Frank Hurvy
Age- 32
Affliation- Imperium (Civilian riot leader)
Appearance- Stands six feet three inches tall with a dark amber tan. He is stout but not much so as to say fat, but more tough. His eyes and hair are a jet black giving the ending of a storng minded strategist.
Armor- Scout infantry armor (no helmet)
Weapons- Stymann (no silencer) and ICCR MkIV
Abilities- Security knowledge
Other- No military or fight background. Worked as a security manager for many of the military plants that have been subdued. Wepons and armor stolen from plants.
Bio- Frank was a typical middle class civilian. He grew up through school and college then had a nother desk job just like his parents and everyone else in the town. As such he started indifferent towards the war, his job was simply to manage the security. When taxes started to rise and wages stayed he found it difficult to provide for his family. Finally when bills started to become overwhelming Frank went and found an underground rebellion group. With his knowledge they appointed him leader and that night he started the first step in the riot. After a few days, much of the city was theirs and it looked as if the Imperiator would have to listen to the people. Time of vicotry was close. That was until the military took action.

Name- Andrea Shurm
Age- 24
Affliation- Imperium
Appearance- Andrea towers over most of the soldiers, male included, at six feet two inches. Though she may look cumbersome, she is actually quite agile, for a six foot person, and can move fluently, without the bulky foot stomps. She has light brown hair, put in a ponytail, that falls to her mid back and light brown eyes.
Armor- Spec Ops outfit??
Weapons- IPBR Mk IV, ISCK, Stymann, HEWP
Abilities- Marksmanship and Leadership
Other- Though she has leadership abilities, she has never been in lead of a squad or unit before.
Bio- Andrea grew up within the Imperium and unlike most females she seemed to outgrow and outstrength many of the males at school. Reaching six feet tall two years before graduating, her chances of a 'normal' life were slim. Andrea tried staying at home and, to the best of her ability, be feminine, but it wasn't working and she just couldn't be the typical stay home wife. And, for all the females who weren't acceptant of that fact, she turned to the military. Here she has used her size many times to outdo an adversary and has become just about a perfect shot with a rifle, scope or not. Now with the war of the menace reaching Namus Rock, she'll most likely be called on soon...as are all spec ops.

CULTURE

IMPERIUM

The Imperium was founded hundreds of years ago by the powerful and omnipotent Imperiator. History has since been erased what existed before, though ancient texts state that it is He who had delivered our people from a great evil, and brought them liberty, freedom. Our empire was once just a small settlement, housing only a few thousand, scarcely able to protect itself. He brought us up from that into what we are today, a thriving empire spanning from the Great Seas to the South and East to the Ematian Mountains in the West, as the dreaded North. His word is our sacred law, for it is by his word that we live and die. The Imperium has since dehomogenized, and many distinct cultures have grown, though they all have great common ground. Society is as a whole rather humble, and displays of arrogance are highly shunned, particularly among the military, where you may be beaten for such. While it varies among social class as well as subculture, the people as a whole are rather clean, and try to be efficient and industrious. A high emphasis is placed on education, as well as keeping a healthy body and keeping strong morals.

The most important common ground that they all hold is their system of morality, their religion, almost. Utmost praise and regard is given to the Imperiator, who is considered omniscient and all-powerful. While he does not have a cult and nor is he worshipped, he is considered to be almost a god. However, while he may be a god, they do not generally believe in an afterlife, barring small cults, hence why importance is stressed to be industrious and accomplish a great deal in their own lifetime. Also, it is believed that he is quite literally watching everyone at all times, and his name may be called upon for help or strength in times of need. However, this is exaggerated, as that he has only been confirmed to watch over select few people, though more when his concern is wrought upon special events. While he rarely directly interferes with his people, many of his agents act as advisors and emissaries to his people, and it is said that he shaped them by his own hand.

Social status has been divided into four major groups; the wealthy and then the upper, middle, and lower classes. The wealthy often compromise governmental positions, as well as the upper echelons of the military. They are old money, and they families have had money since traditionally the founding of the Imperium. They know not want nor need, for everything is easily provided for them, and this is why they often take these illustrious positions, in order to give them something where they aren’t always handed everything upon a silver platter. However, they do not look down upon the lower classes, and are often charitable to them, and everyone most often considers one another equals, merely fulfilling their roles in life. The upper and middle classes are often interchangeable, and families will change class even within their generation. They are often artisans, managers, doctors, scientists, and all other jobs barring those that are held by the lower class, which entails factory work, farming, and other relatively menial tasks. Barring a small amount of people at either end of the spectrum, the three lower classes do not see much difference in standard of living, only disposable income.

The government is autocratic, being ruled by council, advised by the Imperiator himself. Different regions are ruled by Imperial Governors which rule as they see fit, though most systems are fairly similar. The only truly centralized organization is the military, which also acts as the police. However, there is minimal crime, and punishment is severe, often resulting in death, or fines for mere violations of standard practice. Due to the violent nature of the wastelands that encompass much of the Imperium, as well as a cold war against those in the North, the military has immense power, and all soldiers are well trained and equipped.

MENACE

There is little recorded data of the Menace to the North, as that no living prisoners have been caught, and most often, corpses disappear soon after being slain, though by what means has still been yet to be discovered. The actual disappearance of a corpse has also yet to be witnessed. While humanoid, they are often larger than the average person, with some differences. It is still not yet known whether or not they are truly human. From reports, they appear to act rather primitively, almost in a tribal fashion. Their leaders often are the biggest and more decoratively dressed, meaning perhaps that the strongest warriors become their leaders. While language and communication has yet to be discovered, it has been reported that some higher ranking members have learned our language, and are able to communicate to us with that.

CRUDELY DRAWN MAP

User Image

The Dark Red lines indicate the trench network.
The sparsely askew little dots indicate the mines.
The Black Squares indicate the artillery batteries. Should these be taken out, the troops pressing on the trenches may become too much for the defenders to handle.
The Bright Red Square indicates the Command Post, which is very unlikely to be reached by any enemy soldier lest the entire defence network is overrun.
The two Blue Arrows indicate the general outline of the Menace Infantry's advance. Note that other than generalized infantry, Menace soldier would not be coming this way, but instead directly through the minefields.

If I need any more spaces, I can just delete your post anyway. Thanks for the offer though. I'm pretty much done, unless you guys can think of anything else for me to put in here.

It looks good, except that Namus Rock is not the last standing outpost, it's just a vital point on the front, and the loss of it would likely mean defeat for the Imperium, as that it would cut off the supply lines to a full third of the front. As soon as you fix that part, then I'll go ahead and put you in.
