3nodding Dotty's BUYING Exchange Tutorial

][Not Noob Friendly][

Step 1-Check yourself:

Evaluate what your working with. What does this mean? Check your inventory for items your not using/wanting and check guides/MP for the prices these are going around for.

Step 2-Hot or Not:

A good tactic is to check how things are going on the wants on certain items. You can use these items for offers. Good items that are ALWAYS wanted are:

-Older Donation Items [Some Exceptions]
[It's good to research the functionality/popularity of these items. Angelic/Demonic items are a big hit]

-Older Event Items [Some Exceptions]
[Halloween items tend to be reigning champ in items. EXCEPT in 05. Complete sets should be kept if you plan on still playing for a long time. Chances are they'll raise up. ex. Spirited Sets now sell for 25k and don't talk to me about Labcoats/JU items]

-Uncommons/Rares
[If you somehow manage to get a Pink Giftbox/Blue Giftbox/ET] chances are your going to get a crappy item. I suggest if your a girl or have a girl avatar mule to have that avatar open it. Why? You COULD get a bustier/camisole and still have a chance to get one of the headbands.]

Step 3- The Exchange Forum

Okay here's the fun part. So you clicked the link gained 2/3 gold and now your welcomed with sellers up the ying yang. What do you do? It depends really. Try not to be fooled by fancy titles or titles that say "SELLING FOR CHEAP!" in most cases they aren't. Now alot of people are online during prime hours. This is good and bad. You can catch alot of good sales and catch alot of crap. Plus people may have offered something already. So my stratagy is stick to the newer threads. If your lucky you can catch noobs/returning oldbies selling for cheap.

[Ex. I got my staff for 12k after coming back on gaia]

Step 4- AIM is your friend!

Now you've found your fish! You want x item really really bad and you want to get it before someone else does. You've got your low offer and youready to attack. You can either post in the thread [Like everyone else], PM the user or use whatever instant messaging service they MAY be using.

I've found that most users leave their AIM on there. Go ahead and IM them. It's faster then a post and not as irritating as a PM. [Depending in the user] You can haggle with them faster and outbid posters faster.

Step 5- Say Thank You!

Yes.
It's wanted. So you've got your item really cheap and your ready to either: resale/equip it. So thank you! It's just being a nice gaian!
