((Werewolf said it was alright to open a new thread instead of piggybacking onto the old one, which looks to have some life issues. ^_^;; so uh. Here we are. It's...a Barracks. They look....Barracky. *ramble* **would have cut/pasted the old descriptions but there wasn't one.**))
Rayale's (R'ale's) arrival
He felt rather darned old to be here...that was probably what was bothering him, he considered, as he sat down on the edge of the bed, ruffling his dark brown hair with one hand. He felt old...and big...and clumsy...and very very nervous. Excited too, but definitely nervous. Really what were the chances a dragon was going to actually impress on him? "Well someone sure thought one might..." He mutters, chewing his lip. He feels very out of sorts compared to so many here, not a tall man, shorter even than his sister, and his other brothers, including his adopted brother. G'dor...Gotta remember he's G'dor now... His adopted brother had already been bonded to a dragon, and he'd never expected to also be tapped to even be considered for it. He was short, stocky as a watch-dragon, a very square framed soul that even looked slow...though truth be told he was perfectly capable of surprising people by being faster than one might expect...but he was still so.... Dragons were graseful and beautiful, like they could swim through the air. Swimming, that was a good analogy, maybe he'd seem a bit less of an oaf if he was actually bonded to a dragon and flying... Rikk, the bronze flit he kept, made a bored sound and stuffed his head into one of Rayale's pockets, seeking food. All this deep philosophical conversation wasn't nearly as interesting as food. Or maybe another flit. Maybe a lady flit....yeahhhhhh. Lady Flits....mmmm. Lady Flits AND food......good stuff.... Rayale grins slightly as he moves to retreive the bronze from his pocket. "I fed you already...give it a rest..."

Kahlin walked slowy through the barracks on silent padding feet the soft helm of his woven pants slightly to long making a shushing sound. His honey blong hair fell in his purple eyes making him glare at it blowing it away. Sonia the little green flit he had found caught the strand in her teeth pulling it away from his eye nudging him swirl eyes begging for a treat. "Sonia no you already been feed." He said smiling rubbing her green jeweled head. "I'll oil you instead in a little bit when I'm finished exploring this place." He paused hearing a voice stepping back into some shadows. 'I didn't think anyone was here.' Sonia gave a little chirp as the rubbing stopped nibbling slightly on his finger to get him to contine. She cooed softly as he started up again little wings fluttering.

"Just me at the moment..." The man rises, young, but still a bit old, at least in his eyes, to be a candidate, but one never the less. He extends a hand to the new visitor. "I'm Rayale...one of the uh...candidates." He smiles at this, one of those rare smiles that extends to his dark brown eyes. "I guess they're all kind of hung up on food, aren't they?" He chuckles, nodding at the flit. "Flits I mean..."

Kahlin nodded slowly. "They seem to be.You have a flit to?" He said looking up at Rayale slowly extending his well tanned hand taking Rayale's. "I'm Kahlin who wishes he was a candidate you're so lucky." He blushed suddenly nerose. "Her name is Sonia." Sonia gave a chirp crawling down Kahlin arm snifing at Rayale hand before nudging the others fingers.

((*nods* I think so...c_C )) ((hey Shada do you have a profile up? :3 I'd love to take a look))
"This is Rikk, he's my extra pair of hands..." He chuckles, gesturing at the Flit, who scrambles down one broad arm to examine Sonia boldly. Rayale's broad hand is roughened from work, and powerful, though he doesn't feel the need to show this off and his grip is firm, but not bone crushing. "I dunno if I'm lucky yet...more floored really...my brother...er...My ADOPTED brother is already a dragon rider...I just figured on becoming a fisher..." Now Kahlin was exactly the sort he tended to picture on a dragon. Slender and dancerlike...much like G'dor. "Although you have to admit, it sure makes your odds look good if they picked an oaf like me..."

Caleten headed back to the barracks, thats where she awoke and a good starting point for her search. Slowing her steps even more, she heard voices. Her hand kept its grip on her left upper arm as the shoulder stayed an inch from the wall. Just her luck that there would be more then one person there, looking around the corner she spotted them. Oddly, they had what appeared to be tiny dragons with them.
Leaning against the wall in a very male-ish fashion, she watched the creatures, more interested in them then those that were talking. Making not a sound, she prepared to turn and start her search not being keen on speaking with a male in the least.

Rikk, the flit, looked up with an facinated chirp and took wing, evoking a slight start from Rayale who looks up to follow the flits' path as it swoops across the room toward Caleten. The flit attemts to land on the young woman, eager to start begging for treats, eyes whirling with interest as it examines her, wings flapping as it seeks purchase. "Sorry, didn't see you there..." Rayale ducks his head in apology. Younger than him, by his guess.....and also an whole inch taller. "Were you looking for someone?" He inquires, not certain if she might be looking for -him-...or for Kahlin for that mater. For all he knows she's a rider, and is sising him up or getting ready to pitch him out on his ear, and explain that it was all an misunderstanding and that no dragon would -really- consider him as a candidate. "I'm Rayale..." he offers, trying to maybe get a name out of this woman...or at least a smile. For all her cold, distancing expression she has an sort of stony nobility about her, one the scar on her face only seems to amplify. Maybe it's the look of him, but she doesn't look even remotely impressed. Tough croud. "You two know each other?" He inquires, looking between the girl and Kahlin. Maybe they're both from the Weyr, as he guesses pale haired Kahlin is.

As Rayale spoke to her, she turned, the smile gone. Frist she looked in his direction, not really looking at him. Then she looked to the person indicated no reconiton on her still features. Casuly, completely on her own accord and time, she looked back to him. Her hazel eyes met his brown in a strong gaze more of a challenege kind of look. By the look of him, he could be a fighter even if he looked more like a type of person that perferred to joke around..else didn't know what to do with his hair and appearnce. Speaking cool tone she remarked, "I am looking for where the runnerbeasts are being held. I am Caleten."
Speaking nothing of the last question, she completely ignored it right after she saw Kahlin. The fact that there were two males in the room, she moved little and when she did, it was deliberate.

"I'm um...not actually sure, I'm afraid." He spreds his hands in a gesture that asks for forgiveness, frowning at the flit which looks irked and wings back to his side. "Sorry about Rikk, I'd say he's normaly better behaved but I'm afraid I'd be lying..." He flashes a grin, trying to warm the cool tone out of her voice. "Look, since we're both strangers in the Weyr, it can't hurt if we make freinds, right?" He shrugs, hooking a thumb on the edge of his belt casualy. "We can get it figured out and I can work on getting an sense of direction for this place..." He glances back to Kahlin, raising his eyebrows. "I don't suppose you know where it is?" Maybe he still smells like fish or something, because she realllly doesn't seem to like him. If she were a dragon, he surmises she might have been a gold, superior, noble and proud...hard as anything to impress...looking at him like she's expecting to throw punches instead of words. Perhaps she's another candidate, which might explain it, he doesn't imagine she'd be thrilled at the 'competition' he provides. "Nice to meet you, by the way, Caleten." Well at least one of them can be happy about this meeting...

She did not think ill of Rikk's actions, instead she completely blamed Rayale. Standing up, she looks at him solidly, and responds with the same cool tone completely brushing off his offer of friendship, "You don't know what I need to know, then I'll find it on my own" She was miffed that he didn't know what she wanted to, then again it didn't surprise her. She didn't care much about him, but enough to wonder why he was in the candidate barrack.
Perhaps he was a candidate, some fun-loving blue would be his style. Nothing of threat to her, she decided and any interest she had into who he might be was gone. Who bothers with a male if they aren't a threat or of use? Not her, she had other things to do. The only reason she was still there was that she held hope that Rikk might come by again.
Then she came up with a solution, some beasts are sensitive to how their caretaker's were being spoken too. Therefore, she rolled her shoulders lightly and said, "Well met, Rayale." That was as much pride as she'd bite, if Rikk didn't come well she wasn't going to do more.

(I have a profile for him. Kahlin is on the old profiles third page.) Kahlin glanced at the new comer saying silent becoming shy his little flit giving little peeps climbing back up his neck becoming a jeweled necklace of green. "I..I'm not sure. I'm still rather new here..my father came here to see the flight." He said softly reaching up rubbing Sonia head making her quite. "It is a pleasure to met you Lady Caleten." He said bowing slightly smiling sweetly. "Perhaps we can find you someone to guild you?" It was almost as if he had put on a other persoanlity.

Caleten looked to Kahlin, an indignant look on her proud face. "I am quite capable of finding what I am looking for on my own. Also, my name is Caleten, there is no lady in front of it." Her right hand balled up a moment then relaxed. She saw his actions as an insult on her character, and if she had a good chance, she call it as well. Her tone was a slight bit condecending and just as cool as when she spoke to Rayale, perhaps a bit more so.

"I was trying to be poliet." He said softly tone still mild as he tried to sooth Sonia the little flit hissing slightly at Caleten. He didn't tell Sonia to knock it off though. This person was scaring him, she reminded him of his father. 'Wish you where here mom you would like Rayale.'

Caleten blandly spoke, "Politeness requires having a sense of the person your trying to be polite to." Now she was trying to be discretely rude, but what he was doing was questioning her ability, in her mind. Still, she remained calm awaiting another slip up for more justified remarks.
