Will you find me a blue rose? I have three baby rats they're all brothers. They we're white of off white when I got them. They've been getting a little bit darker as they get older. No drastic changes or anything. But I went out of town last Thursday (don't worry my roommate took care of them for me) and when I came back on Monday all three of them have a big dark grey spot somewhere on their noses.
They didn't have anything sort of coloration like that before I left. It seems like a really fast color change. I'm not extremely worried about it since animals fur change color all the time, but I just want to make sure that there isn't any health or diet problems that cause rapid color change in rats.
Please and Thank you.

I Had bought a female rat that was pretty young and after a while she got a dark spot on her nose area... I believe it's normal. I'd hope so O-o, She seems to be healthy

Babies shed their baby fur and grow their adult fur. Sounds like you have Siamese rats. :) Himilayans are white with a different color on their noses and rumps. Siamese are cream/off-white with different color points.
I have a Himilayan:

And a Siamese:
Though my siamese has no fur. lol

if it is albino then as it gets older it might turn grey, but it could also be a vitamin c deffiency.

LOL. Something similar hapened to me. When I bought my rats, they were both black hooded rats. Then one escaped and was gone for a couple of days. When I caught her again I realized she had turned sort of a speckled brown color hood, instead of black. Her sister, who never escaped like her, stayed black and white.

Some of my rats changed color when they aged. >.< They had really light tan hoods and now they are just plain white. But they do have a little brown by the base of their tail and tips of their noses.

That's called a Hooded siamese rat. once they reach about 6 months old, the hood fades away and their points darken. smile

Most rats tend to change throughout their lives, even if only slightly. Especially ones with certain colors/markings, such as: Siamese, Mink, etc. =} Many will also develop "rusting" and/or "silvering", as well.
