Life had been going on as normal. Well. His life had, at least. Couldn't really say much about anyone else's. He had been completely focused on his work as of late, ever since he had been studying the recently unearthed artifacts. So when he had gotten the letter, it had surprised him more than it usually should.
After reading it a few times, he was pretty sure that it had been addressed to the wrong person. A child, him? Really? That was just...well. Wouldn't be the first choice for a parent ever. But still, should at least go to the lab and try and straighten it out, right?
So he found himself standing at the front desk of a lab, feeling rather out of place and wondering what, exactly, he was doing there.

A short woman with huge floofy hair bounced out from one of the offices, bopping to some pop music she had playing on her headphones. "OH! HI!" she greeted, a bit too loudly because of said music.
Taking off her headphones, she smiled. "Sup?"

Angra seemed to be rather startled by the sudden appearance of the woman, and awkwardly cleared his throat and pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose before reaching into his pocket and pulling out the letter he had received.
"Aah, yes, I..." he fumbled to unfold the letter and smooth out the creases in it. "This letter? I'm not quite sure..." He trailed off, looking up from the paper at the woman expectantly.

"Ah yeah. It's about a kid. Don't worry, we pay you to take them." she said with a pleasant air as if this were the most normal thing in the world.

Pay to...take them? Well. That was...interesting. And strange. He clearly hadn't been around this place long enough to realize the seemingly common occurrence of people ending up with children through odd means. "Ah...right, uh.." He looked back down at the paper, then back up at the woman, looking between the two several times. "Child. Right. So, how exactly...?"

"Well if you have a particular gender or whatever you'd like for a child? I can show you around to them and help you pick one out or just bring you a kid."

"I....uh" His mind ground to a halt, unable to quite comprehend exactly what she was telling him. Of course the look on his face was answer enough. Should probably just go and bring him one, then, might not get much of an answer in regards to that for awhile.

"I'll be right back." the woman said nervously, ducking out of the room to go and find a child who'd at least be semi-suitable to this guy. She ended up locating one of the newer sprats, a cute little nightmare-sprite. Whether or not she'd work was up in the air, but it was at least a decently behaved looking child.
Returning with the girl, Apoxi grinned. "Here we go."

Well. The fact that the woman apparently in charge seemed to be a bit nervous didn't quite help much. So he stood there, fidgeting as he waited, until he heard footsteps and...hooves? That couldn't be right.
The little girl looked up at the man, waiting for something to happen. Was this the person who was supposed to be taking her...somewhere? She wasn't quite sure as to where that place was, but it was somewhere else.
After a few minutes of inspecting the other person (Angra having squatted down so that he was at eye-level with the girl), he finally held out his hand, and it was shaken with the utmost of solemnity by the small girl.
Yes, this just might work.

"Well, there we go then. I'll just fill out these forms a bit for you to sign and then you can take her home. If you require monetary assistance, just request it, and she needs to be brought back here once a stage - including this one. Though, it should probably be after you two have settled in."

""I don't think that will be necessary," he said as he stood up, smoothing out the front of his pants almost habitually. Right. Bring her back soonish. Can do. "Is there anything else I should know?"

"Nope. Have fun." Apoxi said, waving after she let him sign, and going back to her previous activities.
