While on most occassions she really wasn't one for school she was at least interested today. Usually she came to see her friends, and the learning was merely a side perk. She wasn't like her brother who on most occassions liked the learning. That and he wanted to show off his new earring something really bad. The subject still urked her but she was going to ignore it, and him if need be, for a while.

Why was she excited today? Art class day. Aside from some days in PE, this was her favorite class. That and today they were using unusual things to do said activity with. They had to bring something from home that could be used as a 'historical source' as it had been called. People apparently had been using berries and all kinds of things for a long time.

After a long a search and moaning about not liking whatever her parents were pointing out, she had a container of blueberries in her backpack that were ready to die for the sake of art...and maybe a snack or two.

He always enjoyed class...art wasn't his string suit but that's not what he was interested in this time. The sheer enjoyment he got from discovering the various things that could be used to make a paint, stain, or such was just too plain fascinating to not be interested in. He had spent the weekend going all over the house and finding different things and testing them somewhat to see if he could use them. So many things to pick from he had no idea what he wanted to choose and thus he had brought quite the assortment of plants, broken objects, rocks, and such with him.

Today might be pretty fun, if only because there would be more to art today than just drawing. There was a good chance there would be a mess and Addy was looking forward to it. Just in case it didn't happen, she was always ready to create one. She had to be careful and make it look like an accident. The teachers knew about their powers after all, so if it was too obvious, she'd get in trouble for it.

As for the assignment itself, Addy brought beets because her mother had suggested it first. Plus they were red and she liked red pretty well. It wasn't exactly her favorite color, but it was up there with her seconds.

It didn't matter though, if beets didn't work, she'd just take some of her sister's stuff. Lilly had brought tons of plants wither her of all kinds of colors.

Their father was nice enough to take Lilly to buy some special seeds to grow between reviving their assignment and this morning. She couldn't very well expect them to grow all on their own, of course, so these plants were all coursing with her power, not that anyone could see immediately, but they would all be perfect for pigment.

Lilly was thrilled that she'd be able to combine her two loves today. Plants and art. So long as her sister didn't ruin it. She wished she could think that to her sister, but ever since Uncle Sekenre had started working with her, Lilly wasn't able to start conversations that way. Go figure. At least it was nice that Addy didn't get headaches anymore.

Noticing her brother's 'science look' she grabbed his arm as they wandered into the classroom and directed him to a preferred table. They didn't have assigned seating and that was just fine with her. She didn't like to be front and center in a learning environment. Teachers watched far too close and were quick to end any fun. She often got her work done quickly as well and supposed 'goofing off' wasn't welcomed. Or doodling on the corner of her table.

Of course said table seated four, two on each side and it was probably a good assumption who would be sitting in the other two seats as it had become the normal thing in such seating arrangements. Only question was who got what side. Plopping in a seat she pulled out her item of choice and plopped it on the table, rolling her eyes at her brother. "You brought too much."

He really didn't care what she had to say and it showed in how he ignored her as he pulled various things from his backpack and was lining them up neatly in front of him on the table where he had chosen to seat himself. This time across from his sister because he didn't trust her not to mess with him today. She had that trouble look going on. "I brought stuff that you have to work at. You brought something easy."

Addy saw their friends and immediately dashed across the room. "Hey guys!" she said loudly, not caring if she was being too loud. Class hadn't started. Who cared anyways?

She grabbed the spot next to Lici and plopped her backpack and stuff down behind her, setting her tupperware of beets on the table in front of her.

"So when do we smash this stuff?" she asked excitedly.

Lilly was glad to see he sister left the seat next to Tobi open and sat next to him, looking over at his assortment of things. Smiling that he put as much effort into the project as she did.

She pulled out several tupperware containers with all kinds of flowers and opened them, pulling out the undamaged blooms in vibrant colors of all the colors of the rainbow--aside from green which was represented by a vibrant looking fern.

Aw, she was going to mess with him too, just like he suspected. However with the arrival of their friends that point seemed to be forgotten. If there was anyone who was keen to indulge trouble with her, it was Addy. "Hiya! That's the part I'm looking forward to. I hope we don't have to do it as the 'wait till everyone is finished' way. Toby brought way too much." She blinked as she watched Lilly however, more or less having the same idea as her brother. "Lilly did too I see. Couldn't you two just decide on one thing?"

"The point Lici was to find things that aren't normal. It's called non-traditional media for a reason." Frowning to her and shaking his head as he continued to organize but gave a smile at their friends. He'd gotten used to hanging out with the girls most of the time. Today it didn't bother him. But he did give a pleased smile to Lilly and nodded toward her next to him. "See, Lilly has the right idea too. Are you sure you're going to be able to smash those?" He did remember that she loved plants and such. It was odd to him that she would choose such a thing. Then again plants and flowers did come in lots of color choices.

"They're already dead," she replied calmly. One of the things about her power was that once a flower had lost it's life, she could see it. Some plants lived a while after being cut from the plant, but it required a stem, for nutrients. These flowers were cut directly at the bloom and died pretty quickly. It used to disturb her, but she'd gotten used to it over the years. It didn't bother her as much anymore.

As for smashing them, she hadn't done so yet with good reason. "The colors will be the most vibrant if you leave them in the petal until you're ready."

She chuckled a little at seeing all the interesting things Tobi had brought. "I brought so much cause I wanted all the colors," she laughed.

"Well, I brought em to crush," Addy said defiantly. She really didn't care what she did with the beets afterward. Maybe she'd just paint a big red blob. Modern art had a lot of those, after all. Stuff like that can be pretty simple.

More students were filing in and the bell rang. The teacher got up and started the 'lecture' part of the class. In Addy's opinion, that's not how art's supposed to work. But the teacher had to demonstrate how to do the crushing, after all.

And of course, that was the part that got her attention.

"Oh well that's...good." He had trouble understanding the flower plant thing she did. Not that they all had talked about their powers too much but they were aware of such things in each other. Technical details aside. He smiled however, indeed quite pleased that he wasn't alone. "I wanted to see how each one could make a color." He things weren't nearly as bright or pretty, but they sure would be interesting. And yes he intently listened to what was being said as he knew his sister was paying less than adequate attention.

Lici was indeed preoccupied in camraderie with Addy in the idea that the fun part was the smashing of things. What happened afterwards was debatable. She elbowed her friend lightly. "He brought mostly stuff he broke." Saying it as if to say he only brought that much because it was going to be thrown out anyway and it was his fault. She so wished she had been the one who could break things. Lucky brother and he didn't even like it. However she paid somewhat attention as child friendly mortars and pestals were passed out to tables, telling them all how to plop items inside and begin to grind them up.

Addy got into her work with an excited vigor. She plopped the beets into her mortar and started crushing them, little bits of red splattering out the sides of the bowl. She could have kept it all in, if she were more careful. But where was the fun in that?

Lilly wondered how valid Lici's statement was. She knew that the other was jealous of her brother's ability and honestly found it odd that their powers ended up being so opposite of their personalities. She and Addy were both quite happy with their powers, most of the time. Maybe it just depended on the person.

She carefully put her first flower, a vibrant blue into the mortar and ground lightly with the pestle.

While Lici had a need to destroy things, her mother said it was a phase, she didn't have the urge to be as messy as her equally minded friend when it came to such things. Well, that is to say that she wasn't fond of mess on herself. The whole room could be horrible and she wouldn't care, long as she didn't get bogged down it in. Causing yes, being no. She was a little cautious at first when she started squishing her berries, for after seeing how Addy's splashed she could guess hers may do the same thing. A few gentle uses of the demonstrated way to make sure she wouldn't end up with juice in her eye and then she was into the groove of it.

He took his time picking a moment until he decided to go with some pieces of broken pot that he had gotten hold of. Though this one suffered from a baseball and not from him doing it just to do it. Some things were indeed accidents. He worked quietly and in methodical fashion, making sure that he was getting it all ground up right. No chunks, that didn't help. Among all of this the teacher was handing out other things.

Some sort of slight paste that they were supposed to add to their bowls and mix it before they were going to squish it all through a fine mesh thing that he didn't recall the name of. Mom didn't cook much after all and dad had dinner done and on the table most nights. Hm, he should investigate the kitchen...
