Quest: Search for the Dark Excalibur (ended)

Ever since Alnette awoke from her 'dream' yesterday, she had been unable to find her prized weapon, the Dark Excalibur. She's searched the entirety of Necropolis, save for one place; the Forest of Shadows. Though a treacherous place, Alnette has no choice but to request help to search it, in hopes of finding her precious weapon.

You have three options; You may join Alnette's party, you may form a party to assist her, or you may search for the weapon for your won use. (I do not recommend the third one if you wish to remain Alnette's friend.)

Reward: 3k per person in the party that finds the Dark Excalibur. If searching for the Dark Excalibur for your own means, the reward for finding it is simply getting to keep it.

You will have 300 HP and the combat system is the same.

Each fighter rolls 1 100-sided dice.

If you win a roll, you take no damage. If you lose, however, you take damage.

The difference between the rolls determine how much damage is done.

Alnette, however only has 275 HP, but has 5 added to her rolls. (excluding search rolls)

How to search: Each party leader (in the main party's case, Alnette.) rolls 1 100-sided dice. If the result is a prime number, the Dark Excalibur is found.
If the result is an odd number, the part will encounter a monster and have to fight before searching again. However, if the result is an even number, the party triggers a trap and each loses 10% of their max HP. However, if the result ends in 0 or 5, the party is unharmed and merely encounters nothing. Finally, if the party rolls a 1, they will encounter an extremely powerful monster.

If the party's health is reduced to 0, they are knocked unconscious and have to wait 1 hour before beginning the quest again.

Alnette frowned, pacing pensively. Every minute she did not have the Dark Excalibur just made her more uncomfortable. Though she did not use it in combat nearly as much as she used to, having the blade near gave her the same comforting feeling a security blanket would a child. In a way, though, the succubus was a child. Hardly 20, she often seemed older than she actually was. She often felt older than she was, except for now. She felt so helpless, even if she still had a bow to defend herself with.

"What if no one come to help? Or worse, what if it ends up in the wrong hands?" She shook her head, trying to banish that thought from her mind. She didn't need to think of that now. No, she was certain she could find it before another, but she'd need assistance. Forcing herself to remain still, she waited for someone else to come, to help her search. She knew the dangers of the forest and without the Dark Excalibur, she didn't believe she could handle herself.


"No one can ever stop me."

Despite the perpetual night that shrouded the forest, one braved the dangers that lie within. Emperor Dragonheart trekked through with one thing in mind. If he was to claim the Dark Excalibur, he could truly lay claim to Necropolis. His ambition knew no bounds; he believed that possessing the magic infused blade would further cement his supremacy. The thought of Alnette's face twisted in anger was also a potential benefit. He knew not how many would be against him in his quest, but none would stop the mighty Cort Dragonheart!

Emperor Dragonheart wasn't the only one braving the dangers. The young man, Erasmus sought the Dark Excalibur, though for different reasons. If one were to see him, they would wonder why he was there, considering he carried no weapon, nor did he wear any armor, but most of the beasts of the forest seemed to avoid him. A soft chuckle escaped from him; those beasts were wise, though he would welcome the excitement of a fight.

Erasmus had been a friend of Baron Argalt himself, and had been surprised when he had learned of his death. He remembered the Dark Excalibur when Argalt had wielded it, and knew what the power it radiated felt like. Though he had heard the blade had been changed to suit the baroness Alnette's whim, he was certain he could use his knowledge of the blade to help him find it.

((Rolling dice to search... Party: Erasmus Webb. ))

However, so far his searching was in vain; he could not feel the blade's presence at all. With a scowl, he decided to search in another direction.

Emperor Dragonheart, selfish and proud, sought the Dark Excalibur on his own. He would not share its might with anyone. The Dark Excalibur would be his and his alone! The darkness wouldn't be an obstacle. With his futuristic equipment, it would only be a matter of time. An object that radiated with incredible power couldn't remain hidden forever.

It did not take long at all to eventually discover the hidden sword. It resonated with a certain power signature that enabled Dragonheart's equipment to locate it. The Dark Excalibur now belonged to the Dragonheart Empire!

Alnette was completely oblivious to the fact that the Dark Excalibur had been found. Still she waited at the edge of the forest, hoping someone would aid her in her search.

In one brief instance, the Forest of Shadows was completely illuminated by a glorious light. All the creatures that reveled in darkness fled in awe of the Dark Excalibur's might. To Alnette's dread, the sword was in the hands of a man she despised.

It was at that moment Alnette knew someone else had gotten their hands on the Dark Excalibur. She dropped to her knees, staring at the forest with a look of despair. "No... It cannot be..."

Cort suddenly appeared before Alnette. He brandished the weapon before her, teasing the shocked baroness. Everything was now his. The weapon that was the pride of Necropolis was in his hands, and Alnette belonged to him.

Silent, Alnette glared at him. She would crush him soon enough, and she would reclaim the Dark Excalibur. It was just a matter of time.

(( For future missions, so long as he wields the Dark Excalibur, Cort shall sacrifice 50 of his max HP, but he shall have 10 added to all of his rolls. ))
