Are you able to upgrade Sothe? And also is there anyway to kill the black knight on chapter 11: Blood Runs Red?

And also is there anyway to kill the black knight on chapter 11: Blood Runs Red? no u can't kill the black knight in ch11 only in 23 i think...it was around 23....and Sothe doesn't upgrade but his ability gives him better level ups so it makes up for it 3nodding
