Honney Boy Why is milk more expensive than gasoline? Depends on where you live and where you shop. I live in Minnesota and gas here is $2.63 and milk is $1.89 But depending on where you go for the milk, it can be anywhere from $1.89 (Aldi) to $4.29(Gas Station)

In Chicago and in Hononlulu milk is about 4.25$ a gallon for your regular run of the mill non-organic full of hormone milk.
It's not as if there aren't dairies here either. Foremost Meadow Gold has a sizeable amount of dairy ranches, plentiful and large enough to supply the islands. Plus cows make more cows but petrol does not usually make more petrol.
Is the question why milk is so expensive or why gas is so cheap? Gas is not a renewable resource and while it is a necessity it's often used as a luxury so should people be paying more for it?

Here's one for you to think about. Why the heck is diesel more expensive than regular gas? This about this for a moment. Over the past few years, this has been the first time in HISTORY that diesel has been more expensive. Also, diesel is actually a byproduct of making gasoline (Meaning there is pretty much no cost to make the stuff in the first place.)
Now, why is diesel more expensive than gasoline?

Also, diesel is actually a byproduct of making gasoline (Meaning there is pretty much no cost to make the stuff in the first place.) Now, why is diesel more expensive than gasoline? By the sam logic that butter costs more than fat-free milk

You know, I don't think I've ever noticed that. But to be fair, spaghetti sauce is WAY more expensive than gasoline.

I wouldn't mind getting started with some wine.
A nice plumb wine and some senbei
or some mulled wine and cheese with some fresh bread cheese_whine
Shouldn't gasoline be more expensive? It, unlike milk, is not a readily renewable resource and it's not like people are burrying mass graves under megatons of soil to make more.
Considering the relative rarity and cost of of drilling and shipping, as well as what it does to the environment shouldn't gas be WAY more expensive than it is?
Cow milk is mass prduced, renewable and generally local so the price of milk is just the dairy industry taking advatage of the cultural brainwashing that they have done over the past century.
There are only two genetic lines of human in the world (Norse and one African tribe) that are really able to properly digest cow milk. To the majority of humanity cow milk varies from being a mild irritant to a slow acting poison to the arteries and digestive tract
The Dairy Board is scary. Do you have any idea how much political influence they have?
