I have three tips to share.

Before reading the tips, a note: if you hold down the key that makes all items/people on the screen visible(left alt by default) you can speed up flower farming tremendously.

1, Ascalon: Go East or West after leaving Ascalon. If you go East, go South at the appropriate time into the hills as if you were going to Regent Valley, there should be a flower there. Then go back and travel South-West down the stream, there should be a flower in that area too. Once you get to the little village, go through it, there should be a flower there as well. Now go North into the field, somewhere near or in the field there should be a fourth flower. Travel North, somewhere around Althea's stage there should be the fifth and final flower. If you chose to go West, simply follow these instructions in reverse(stage, field, village, stream, hills). When you are done, regardless of which way you chose, map back to Ascalon.

2, Ashford Abbey: Go North or South. If you go South, go into the village and collect the first flower. Follow the stream North-East and collect the flower there as well. Go East into the hills and collect the third flower. Turn back and go North to Althea's stage, collect the fourth flower. Now go West and South to collect the fifth and final flower in the field. If you chose to go North, simply follow the instructions in reverse(field, stage, hills, stream, village). Once you are done, map back to Ashford and repeat.

While tips one and two take some time, they usually guarantee five flowers per run and usually within five minutes assume you do not stop to fight anything. Sometimes the village flower may spawn in a tree or behind a house, rendering it unachievable. Sometimes the stage flower may spawn on the opposite side of the Northern wall, rendering it unachievable. It is also possible that one of the other flowers will spawn in a tree or other unreachable location rendering them unachievable.

3, Single-Flower: Leave from Ashford Abbey, travel South into the village, collect the village flower, map back to Ashford and repeat. This is my favorite method. Although each run only retrieves a single flower, it can be done in half a minute as opposed to the five+ minutes for a full five-flower run. This means you can, statistically speaking, collect up to 120 flowers per hour rather then the 60 that you would get from a five flower run. However, most people don't have the patience to try. I found the patience found me after I got started and realized the big benefit of a single-flower run.

For those of you who do not know, there are two* flower collectors outside of Fort Ranik. You can reach them by traveling South until you reach the big arch-wall thing(I'm not really sure what it is nor what it's for), then West until you see the skale in front of a stream to the North. Defeat the skale and travel North until you see the cliff. There should be some bushes at the bottom, behind those bushes is a semi-secret hole leading to a hidden garden(I think it's called Secret Garden on the wiki). In the hidden garden there are two characters, Professor Yakington and the Huntsman. Professor Yakington will always trade a profession-specific piece of headgear or a small weapons bag for fifty red iris flowers. On occasion the huntsman will take five red iris flowers for a single gift.

*The traveler will give a single gift for five items that change daily. When an item has been selected for a day, it is referred to as The Item of the Day. You can trade up to twenty five items to receive five gifts. The gifts may give party treats, alcohol, or sweets when opened. The daily items include red iris flowers, skale fins, baked husks, charr idols, spider legs, etc. Basically, if it is a droppable trophy item it may be asked for by the Huntsman.

I hope you found these tips helpful.

I didn't know about the Secret Garden for the longest time, and once I found out I was like gonk over all the Iris Flowers I gave away to others or sold to a merchant.

Anyway this is handy! I need to farm some flowers, he is supposed to be collecting them in a few days or so.
