The Emperor versus the Baroness II (Battle for Freedom) Alnette has had enough of the mad imperialist known as Cort Dragonheart. He has bound her to his will and laid claim to her prized sword, the pride of Necropolis. Amused, the Emperor has given Alnette a chance to earn her freedom. Alnette must now fight five of his lowest ranks and eventually Emperor Dragonheart himself. Emperor Cort Dragonheart’s Health: 500 Soldier 1’s Health: 100 Soldier 2’s Health: 100 Soldier 3’s Health: 100 Soldier 4’s Health: 100 Soldier 5’s Health: 100 Baroness Alnette’s Health: 500 The Rules Like earlier dice duels, the damage done will be dependent on the combatants’ rolls. Example: Alnette Rolls a 100 and a soldier Rolls a 50, then the soldier takes 50 units of damage. After five rounds (after every fifth post Alnette makes), Alnette is given a savings roll. Whatever she rolls, she regains in health. Savings rolls can be saved. So if the first roll is saved, Alnette is given the option of rolling two 100-sided dice and regaining that much amount of health during her next roll. Savings rolls are null in battling Cort. Note: Alnette's health cannot exceed over 500. To the victor, the spoils go -If Alnette wins, she is completely free from Cort and can pursue her revenge-filled endeavors. -If Cort wins, Alnette's servitude to Cort is doubled.

Hand on her hip, Alnette waited. She was ready for the fight, and she hoped this time she'd do better. Every few minutes, she'd move a bit, still waiting. She just wanted to do this as soon as possible.

Dressed in his best, Emperor Dragonheart soon appeared with a small platoon of soldiers. They weren’t as large as the ones from before, which was probably a godsend for Alnette. Though their armor was essentially the same, they were sleeker. It was most likely that they were beginning recruits.
One, overzealous in trying to impress the Emperor, lunged forward with his sword. Alnette simply side stepped him and followed up with her own attack.

"Hm..."
Alnette looked at the soldier and couldn't help but shake her head. "Amatuer." She muttered, as rather than launching a full-strength attack, she decided to test him, using a weak attack, while attempting to gauge his strengths and weaknesses.

Because of his armor, the soldier was able to withstand the attack. He displayed his potential when he fiercely and swiftly swung his sword at Alnette. Though amateurish, he showed much promise as a warrior. He had only hoped his attack hit its target. He was still having a hard time seeing behind his helmet.

"Not too bad..."
Alnette had to admit, the soldier had potential, especially when he managed to cut her thigh. It wasn't very deep, nor large, but he had managed to hit her. Of course, she couldn't let that happen again.
"I'm just warming up!" She slashed at him, attempting to cut through his armor with her slender blade.

Alnette’s attacks hit their mark. Not every slash managed to penetrate his armor, but some did. Blood secreted from his armor, showing her that she was doing some damage. The soldier was shocked, but not too shocked to back down. With steely resolve, he continued her sword assault.

Alnette felt she was doing well guarding against his attacks, while attacking herself, but she hadn't been watching where she was moving. When she moved to back away, she tripped over a rock, falling to the ground and making it nearly impossible to defend against the soldier's attacks.

The opportunity for a truly damaging attack had shown itself when Alnette had fallen. However, the soldier didn’t press his advantage. The fall itself looked particularly nasty. He stood patiently, waiting for her to get back up on her feet. Emperor Dragonheart was furious that his soldier didn’t press his advantage.
"Attack her, you imbecile!" the Emperor barked.
"It is not right to attack a downed opponent. Aren't I just supposed to defeat her? I don't want to hurt her," he professed.
"YOU DO AS I SAY!" the tyrant screamed.

Alnette rose shakily to her feet, nodding to the soldier and smiling slightly. She truly appreciated that he didn't take advantage of her moment of weakness.
Shaking her head, she pointed her blade at him, signaling that she was ready to continue, even if she wasn't in the best shape.

The soldier nodded in agreement when Alnette motioned for the battle to continue. He immediately rushed her. The soldier made slashes at her arms and legs, hoping to only to cause minimal damage. He truly didn’t want to hurt the succubus.

Alnette defended against his attacks the best that she could, though she had been unable to defend against them all.
She rubbed the back of her head before launching an attack of her own. She was a little dizzy, but she had found in worse shape.

The soldier would relent in his attack when he saw how wobbly Alnette was. He knew she was in dire need of rest. He lowered and sword and asked "Do you need a rest?"

As much as Alnette hated to admit it, she was not in the shape to be fighting at the moment. A short rest, even one only long enough to catch her breath would help her immensely.
Much to her surprise, after catching her breath, she was feeling much better. In fact, it left her feeling confident.
