Does it not seem like the hand is reaching for you? From where it lay... Lifeless on the ground, the shattered glass around it shimmering off the bright sun? Yet. You know it is not reaching for you, such a thing would be redundant anyway at this point, it was only a corpse now, i lifeless body, thanks to you.
How could you have done such a thing? Taken its very souls from it, and devoured it whole, how could you live with yourself? Can you?

Plot:
You are part of an interesting race called the Alikai, a race that feeds off of the living souls of humans. These beasts have abnormal traits such as wings sharp teeth, long ears and sometimes horns. They have been mistaken many of times for demons or angels, but they are not immortal, far from it.
They live their lives under ground, in a vast civilization of their own, right under the nose of their prey, unknowns to many, but a few. Humans are oblivious to the Alikai's exsistance, but some do indeed search them out.

Another long night, thought Dodge, wiping sweaty palms on his wrinkled jeans as he strode out into the cool and ever-clamorous New York City air. He kicked aside some rubbish that was tossed unceremoniously into the alley where the back door of the club he worked nights at led into, shaking his head with distaste. Early morning traffic was just kicking in, and Dodge gave silent thanks that he wasn't one of those unfortunate enough to have to deal with it. Running a hand absently along the gritty brick wall of the alley, the boy began his daily walk back to the apartment complex as quickly as fatigue would allow him.

Perched atop an apartment building roof, Rosalie huffed impatiently as hunger began to gnaw at her insides. She had been hunting all night and the only soul she had taken was that of a skinny, lowlife prostitute. Humans like prostitutes and junkies were never very filling anyways because their harsh and somewhat disgusting lifestyles left them hollow inside which made their souls thin and whispy. Just as Rosalie was thinking about giving up she heard footsteps and the barely audible sound of a hand being trailed along an alley wall. "Finally," she whispered to herself as she changed from a sitting position to a crouching one. Adrenaline rushed through her as the footsteps grew closer and she couldn't resist running her forked tongue over her lips in anticipation.

Dodge shoved his hands in his pockets, yawning, and shivered. A chilly breeze carressed the back of his neck, and for some reason he felt his body growing tense. Accelerating his pace ever-so slightly, the tall boy glanced around warily. Even though he was not on one of the main streets of the city, it was unusual for the place to be quite so deserted. He shook hair out of his eyes and passed by a large apartment builing with a sign out front reading, "Under construction. DO NOT ENTER."

Spreading her wings silently, Rosalie let herself fall from the roof using her wings as parachutes as she landed silently a couple hundred yards behind the human. Sensing his agitation, Rosalie let him advance in front of her a while before she made her appearance. She could already smell the twang of apprehension rising in the air and it was delicious. She crept along the alley behind him, thrilled with anticipation. Just a little londer and he'll be mine, she thought to herself, yes, only a little longer.

All of a sudden, Dodge stilled his walking. Years of being hovered over by mercilessly controlling parents had given him a sixth sense that alerted him to the "I'm being watched" feeling. Shifting his gaze uneasily from side to side, and behind him, but it was still to early for his human eyes to see far through the shadows. He had never had the best eyesight, anyway. He had worn glasses since he was five. Attempting to shake the foreboding emotions away, he started whistling one of the more upbeat tunes from the current off-Broadway musical he was performing in. It was just a bit part, a cameo character, but that was pretty good considering this was NYC. Looking around a few more times just to make sure, Dodge resumed his walking, lengthening his strides.

Seeing ahead of her,Rosalie knew that he could feel her gaze on him. She stopped for a split second then quick as a flash, she spred her wings and lept in to the air soundlessly, flying just ahead of where he was and landing a few yards in front of him so he could see her as clearly as the dim alley light would allow. "What," she asked him,"never seen somebody like me before?" She smiled innocently at him as she slowly took a step towards him.

Starting backwards in shock, Dodge's hand immediately went up to rub the back of his neck, an odd habit he had when he was nervous or apprehensive. Eyes growing wide, he took in the person in front of him: It was a girl, late teens like him, probably a few years younger. She was wearing very punkish, revealing clothes, and had brightly dyed hair. None of this, however, was what stood out to him, in comparison to the wings spreading from her back, or the predatory features of her face. Mouth opening and closing a few times, his gaze glued to her wings, Dodge replied very softly, "No. . . I don't believe I have. . ."

Her dark locks of silky smooth hair fluttered just above her shoulders as she walked down the street, her head held high, the black of the night shading many of her features. Her deep burgundy eyes glowed in the midst of the dark, and a sly smirk was spread on her childish face. She was indeed hungry after a week of sitting down in the eternal night of her home, something she loathed near as much as eating.
Analia's eyes flickered from side to side hungrily, the lurching feeling of starvation affecting sanity.
She stopped a moment listening to the flap of wings echo through her ears, the gusts fairly familiar to her. The excited beat of a heart, rather her's, for the kill, once again familiar. Did she know this relative? Most likely, from the sound of it she had food. A sigh escaped Analia and she continued slowly. "Foooooood..."

A short burt of laughter escaped from her lips as the human answered her rhetorical question. She didn't think he would actually answer her rather than stand there dumbfounded long enough for her to bridge the gap between them and kill him. what a strange one Rosalie thought to herself as he stood, awkwarly rubbing the back of his neck. About to reply to his answer, the sound of one of her own approaching claimed her attention. Her mouth twitched slightly," Well, now you have seen one of my kind and I'm most likely the last you will ever see," Her nose was starting to pick up a familiar scent," And I am starving!"
