"Let her choose." Muyho shrugged, glancing at Kurenai only for a moment. "Hurry up child, we've got a lot of work to do."
Eria nervously stuffed her cold hands into her pockets and stepped forward a bit. "...Saitou, he's using his eyes."
"I know." he said. "Don't worry about it."
Kurenai glanced at Eria and blinked. She knew if she cried, Muyho would pop her on the side of her head, so she hastily rubbed her face, as if something got in her eye.
"Are you crying?" Muyho asked.
"No sir." she replied hastily, then peered down at her feet. "Can I have a cigarette?"
He hesitantly reached into the pocket of his slacks, pulled out a new pack of Camel cigarettes, and began scratching at the plastic wrapping. After cutting a hole in it, he yanked the rest off, tossed it to the ground, lifted the cover, and grabbed two from the miniature box.
"Here," he said, handing one to her.
"Thank you." She took it, waiting for Muyho to light his. He held it between his glossed lips, retreived a lighter from the opposite pocket, snapped it once, twice, three times; the tip flared to life as he inhaled deeply and took it between his fingers.
"I shouldn't be letting you smoke my s**t," he frowned. She didn't respond, leaning forward as he crouched down somewhat and touched his to her's. The sudden taste of tabacco filled her lungs and she coughed a few times before swallowing.
"I have to think about it," she sniffed.
Muyho blinked like he had just been slapped and stood straight up, towering over her fourteen year old body. He couldn't believe 'thinking' was a nessecity in this situation.
He turned to her. "You have to what?"
"Think. I have to think about it."
"Why in God's name would you have to think about this, Kurenai?"
"Oh, I can't think now-is that it?" She replied sharply.
Muyho glared at that, glancing at Saitou. He just smiled.
"What are you doing to her, cloudwalker? You know she never speaks to me that way."
"I'm just playing fair." he said. "I can charm people too, you know."
Eria looked at Saitou. His eyes were glazed in a way she had never seen before. His whites were slightly black, the pupils dialated as large as they possibly could. She got lost for a moment but then came to.
"Don't look me in the eye, Eria. This spell isn't meant for you."
"Sorry." She said, blinking once.
Muyho looked at Kurenai with such a horrid face, Eria almost turned away.
"Hurry the hell up, I don't have all day."
Kurenai glared at him and squinted, throwing her cigarette to he ground and stomping on it with her foot.
"I've made up my mind."
His eyes widened with shock when she stepped forward.
"I'm going with Saitou and Eria. And I won't be coming back. Ever."
Saitou nodded, "Nice choice, Demon."
Eria smiled, running to hug Kurenai. She ignored the strong smell of cigarette smoke on her thin, skimpy dress and kissed her cheek. Her skin was cold and  moist, but it had somewhat of a calming feel to it.
"We're gonna' have so muc..."
Muyho gasped, watching Kurenai walk away from him. His breath became shallow and short.
"Wha-what...!?"
"So long Demon." Saitou waved, turning his back to him.
"No-" he yelled, almost swallowing his cigarrette whole. "You can't take her from me, not another one-it's not fair!"
Kurenai shut her eyes tight; letting Eria lead her.
"Kurenai! You can't go-I won't take your sorry a** back if you do!"
Eria covered Kurenai's ears with the palms of her hands and said something low.
"...Don...isten....o....im..."
She nodded placing her own hands over her's.
All she heard was mumbling. And the quiet sound of sobbing from far away. When she looked back over her shoulder, she could see Muyho was crying. It was a horrible sight that stabbed at her heart and threatened to crash through her rib cage. She blinked tears from her eyes, trying hard not to listen to his words.
"K...nai...!!!...D...n't...you...ove...e?!" he screamed, though it sounded like he was speaking from a mile away.
She nodded weakly, biting her lips  hard so she wouldn't run back and jump into his arms. She realized this must have been a rooze. He couldn't actually be crying for real. Not over her. If she went back, he would beat her within an inch of her life.
So she hummed over his loud sobs. Feeling Eria's hands on her ears and smelling them. They smelled like ocean water and nail polish. A very pleasant, but odd combination.
Suddenly Kurenai could no longer feel Eria's hands on the side of her head. Everything registered into her brain, clear as a new pair of glasses, and ear-splitting.
Saitou was hunched over in the grass, coughing up blood into his palms. Eria kneeled next to him, tugging at his sleeve.
"What happened...?" Kurenai said.
Eria looked up at her, tears running down her face. "How could you?!"
She blinked, not understanding. "I...didn't..."
"You hurt him-and he tried to help you?!"
Saitou gagged, blood splashing onto the grass. His eyes fluttered closed in a wince.
"I didn't mean to...I...I was trying to..."
"Trying to what?! We were 'helping' you!"
Kurenai stepped back. What had she done? She couldn't have done this. This had to be a trick, Muyho was-
"Kurenai! Come here!"
She spun around, seeing Muyho smiling brightly and becking her with his finger. She felt the strongest urge to walk over to him, and did nothing to resist. When she was standing on his shadow she looked up.
"I knew you wouldn't leave me darling," Muyho crooned. "-what a good girl."
Muyho embraced her tight, her head only coming up to his stomach. Soon she forgot about everything once again and squeezed him back.
"I'm so sorry, sir. I don't know what I was thinking."
He smiled in satisfaction, bringing her face up to the point where she stood on her toes, and leaning down until their lips touched.

               Chapter 1: The Holy Crusaders
              *** [KURENAI'S POV] ***

I jerked up from my nightmare, sweaty and out of breath, my fingers spasming into the thin sheets under the blanket and my white, thin nightdress sticking to my spine. Dammit. When I had that nightmare I knew I wasn't sleeping for a while.
This wasn't the first time I've had a nightmare like this either. I'm almost twenty and the same memory has been haunting me since I was fourteen.
My name is Kurenai Yanamaka, I'm twenty and one of the only Demons that are still alive today. After I killed Saitou, the Angel king, it was all out war between everyone. And the Angels were winning. The second word got out that I killed the king. Holy crusaders were after me, Radiant crusaders were after me, the Divine army was after me, I was more popular than Muyho. Who was Muyho? Well in a sense, he was my everthing; my soul was binded to him. He was a millennium year old Demon(not kidding) that found me, took an interest in me, killed my family members off, and told me I was his only hope of survival. He told me he could take care of me, but eventually, ate away my soul and turned me into...what I am. But, for some strange reason, I loved him more than anything...
To the right of me, Muyho silently watched. His black hair mused all over the pillow, a strand stuck in his mouth and his eyes slightly red. I gasped for a moment and slipped my hand under my nightdress to coax my heart into a normal pace, at the same time groaning at the demon lying next to me.
"Don't you have your own room?" I ask, not really 'wanting' to know why he was in here.
He stared for a good minute before replying. He must have been strung out on something.
"I do."
"Well, why aren't you-you know, in it? Sleeping?"
"It's interesting to watch you squirm when your dreaming about me."
"I never have dreams about you. It was just a nightmare. About you."
"Am I in all of your nightmares?"
I threw the blanket and my legs over the side of my bed and wiggled my toes to make sure he hadn't chopped them off, at the same time spotting a box of medication on the floor. "Not all of them, thank God. If you were, I would have probably died from some type of heart attack in my sleep by now."
I leaned down and picked up the box, opening it and peeking inside. There were only two left.
"...Muyho? How many of these did you...?"
He sat up with me and wrapped his arms around my waist, putting his lips to my ear. He was damp and his breath was short.
"Don't worry about it." He snatched them out of my hand. "And what is there to thank God for?"
"The fact that I woke up alive with a crazy person in my bed is something to thank him for."
"What? Who's the crazy one? We're both crazy the last time I checked. And besides, God doesn't exist."
He took his fingers and pressed down own my collar bone, comparing one with the other. "At least that's what the doctor told me."
"Muyho, you're high and you don't know what your talking about. Your phsycologist doesn't know either."
"Oh...he does to. He's the one who cured me of my illness...you do remember that right?"
"How could I forget? You're a paranoid schizopreniac. The last time 'I' checked, there was no cure for that. -Now how many of these did you take?"
"Only four," He nibbled at my neck and bit one of my hoop earrings from it's hole, licking the puss from the new peircing he had just given me yesterday.
"Four?" I said, flinching away. "Your phsycologist said to take one a day."
"He doesn't know what he's talking about though, right?" He giggled. "You should clean this with rubbing alcohol, it might get infected."
"Yeah, with you constantly doing that-I'm surprised it's not falling off! I don't even remember asking you to give me a peircing, anyway." I said as I snatched my earring from him and clicked it back into my ear. "Besides it's not-"
The door creaked open and a little girl peeked in. "Daddy?" She searched the room with her eyes until she saw us, pulling down her little night dress.
"Someone is trying to get in the tower..."
I looked up, seeing Kasumi. Muyho's newest addition to his pervert collection, standing in front of the door, then someone behind her. I untangled myself from Muyho, jumped from the bed and crammed the door shut, peeking through the peep hole.
"...Oh no...the crusaders are..." I began.
Muyho flipped his hair sensually and winked. "I'll take care of it, take the girl, darling." and then, he was gone. The child looked up at me and tugged at my fingers.
"Kurenai, what are we going to do...?"
I picked her up into my arms, jumped into a random pair of black school shoes near the bed, and ran for the back wall in the closet. "Don't worry sweetie. Muyho is going to take care of those guys. Just close your eyes and don't open them until I say so."
"Mm-Kay'"
I rested the child on my hip, wiping sweat from my forehead, and knocked on the wall to find a weak point.
"...no..." knocked again..."...not there..."
The sound of a battle taking place outside began and I heard Muyho with his maniacle laughter. The child squeezed at my shoulder.
"What if they hurt daddy?"
I flinched and dropped my hand from the wall. Daddy? Did she just call him daddy? Muyho wasn't her father. And I wasn't her mother. What has Muyho put into this child's brain to make her believe such things so easily?
"They won't hurt him." I said. Then pressumed feeling at the wall. Yes. Right here.
I brought my arm back and balled up my fist.
"Here!"
My knuckles collided with the plaster, forcing it to crack and shatter straight through. The stray peices of stone crumbled to the carpet, the rest falling somewhere else, creating a semi-clear path. I sheilded the girls head and shut my eyes, sighing calmly as a wisp of cool air hit my face.
"Oh, thank you A.C."
"Hey, you there!?"
I spun around, catching a glimpse of a holy crusader. Before I could look at him up and down; someone snatched him back into the hallway, the sound of painful screaming followed soon after.
"Thanks Muyho," I said. Then jumped over the rocks. I didn't stop until I heard a low squeaking noise. I later discovered it was the child.
"We have to help him." she whimpered.
I put the girl down and look at her face, my eyes trailed down to the side of her neck. A red spot gleamed just below her earlobe. It looked like...
God. Muyho is such a sicko.
"He's going to be fine sweetie. Muyho is alright. He's very strong you know."
She wiped her eyes and wined, "Mommy-why don't you ever call me Kasumi? Daddy does..you don't like my name?"
I blinked. What?
This was not the time to be arguing with this child. She didn't even belong to me. The only reason I took care of her was because Muyho treated her like a toy and had no idea she actually 'needed' other things besides food. And I didn't like her name at all. Not because of the name itself, but because Muyho gave her that name. He just thought up a name that reminded him of mine, not taking the fact into consideration that she already had a name, and she wasn't related to him in any way, shape or form. He stole her from her parents when she was little because I had gotten to old for him to baby. Now I was refered to as his 'wife' or 'mistress'.
Whatever.
This girl is not my daughter. I don't like her. I hate her for stealing my name. I hate Muyho for bringing her here and abusing her the way he does. I hate myself for falling for him when I was young.
The wall beside us crashed and Muyho fell though. He came to an abrupt stop after a couple of stumbles, then pounced back up into the battle on the other side, not giving us as much as a glance.
"We'll talk about daddy later. Hold on please."
Oh god, I called him daddy.
I grabbed the girl again, swinging her onto my back this time. She wrapped her tiny arms around my neck and her legs under my arms piggyback style and we were off.
"Close your eyes and don't open them."
The dust was thickening as the battle raged on. Walls were demolished, windows were broken and shattered, dead bodies everywhere. Muyho was a one man army. Which wasn't much of a surprise to me. Just a shock that he made such a scene about it all. Could he kill people a little more neatly?
I looked around a corner, a hallway that hadn't been affected by the battle yet.
"Okay, this looks promisi-"
I ducked to the floor when I suddenly heard the clank of steel armor near and glanced up. A Holy crusader held my gaze as she flipped over me and landed on the floor. When she recovered she pushed back her hair back and drew her sword.
"Kurenai Yanamaka." She began. "I have come here to eliminate you."
I stare at her features with wide eyes. She was most definetly an Angel. Her orange hair sweeping the floor and her white eyes gleaming with hatred. Hatred for me. The armor she was wearing was plated with an angel wing and halo, prooving she was definetly a crusader; and a high level one at that. Regular crusaders are usually granted an Angel feather, and a steel rapier. But her, she had a sword big enough to be a claymore.
"Who are you?" I said.
She shifted the fingers around the pommel of her sword and sneered.
"That information is irrelavent."
All of a sudden she charged at me, slashing the air in front of me. "Now die!"
I ducked and skidded backwards but she imitated my movement and sliced my cheek. She was fast and I had no weapons.
"Please-stop! I never meant to kill him!" I said.
"Shut up!" She held her sword with both hands and took a fatal swing at my legs, I jumped to avoid the blade, kicking upwards at her chin as hard as I could. The impact of the blow made her jump back, leaving me time to recover and perch the child onto my back comfortably again.
"You have to understand," I tried to explain. "Muyho made me do it."
"It's always Muyho isn't it." she spat, coming at me once more. "No one is buying your pathetic excuses anymore Yanamaka!"
"They aren't excuses--"
Her blade flew past my face, barely missed my arm, then grazed my ankle. When I collapsed she didn't hesitate kicking me in the nose and slicing my shoulder.
"Agh-Kasumi-get off!" I said, then jumped away from the crusader, she growled sadistically and ran after me.
The child wouldn't let go. My foot hit the floor wrong when I landed, making me tumble back and the girl wrap her arms around my neck tighter. My breath shallow, I rasped and fell to the floor, my body crushing the child's body.
"Ah!" I heard her yell. I hastily pulled myself up and gasped.
"Kasumi. Are you alright?"
"Don't turn your back on me, Demon!!!" The Angel flew above me, both hands around her sword, the blade pointing down.
Oh no. This couldn't be happening. I can't be killed-I-I...
The child squinted up at me with a smile.
"Mommy. You called me Kasumi..."
I stared down at her and my body moved without me telling it to, dodging the angel's sword before I could notice the severity of what I had done. It all happened in slow motion as the crusader's blade came in contact with the small body.

***

The crusader stared down at her victim, more shocked than I was. Her eyes trembled with tears when the sound of the child gasping for words filled the silence. But it didn't take long for her to gain composure and grip her sword tight.
"Selfish creature." she sighed.
I blinked at what I had done. Blood trickled from Kasumi's mouth as she looked blankly up at the ceiling. Her body spasmed until the woman suddenly pushed the sword to the right, and most likely peirced and internal organ.
After that, the body moved no more.
"I...I...didn't.."
She snatched her sword away, stood, then wipped it to the side. Drops of blood splattered my face.
"At least by my blade, the child will live a harmonious after life with the all-father Christ."
My eyes permanently scarred from the vision repeating itself over and over in my head; I gazed at the small, dead body. A dead body wasn't meant to be this small. How old was this child...?
...nine...
"-Preapare to die Demon." the crusader said. "Unfortunetly, unlike this girl here, you, are going straight to hell."
No...I won't die. I have to take her to Muyho. Muyho has to see her.
The Holy crusader stepped a few inches in front of me, then pressed her sword against the back of my neck.
"I'm going to give your head to Eria. So she can finally be ridded of this pain you've caused her."
I couldn't take my eyes away from the girl. Her blood trickled down my cheeks. I didn't save her. This was my fault, I finally realize, this war was becuase of me, not Muyho. Eria wanted me dead because I killed her brother.
What was wrong with me? Did I just figure all of that out?
"Any last words?" the angel asked.
I blinked into conciousness and slowly peered up at her.
"...I'm...not going to die here..."
She chuckled in her throat and raised her sword.
"Yes, you are."
When she slashed down at my neck, she hit the floor instead, I leaped from her feet and snatched the dead child into my arms, running down the opposite way. I heard her swear and chase after me, her armored shoes clanking against the floor.
"Muyho?!" I yelled then slipped around a corner.
"Your withholding the inevitable Demon!" The crusader said and turned after me. "Muyho isn't here to save you this time!"
The floor was beginning to blotch red, the aftermath of a massacre, not a battle. He was around here. I could feel him. I came to a halt and snapped my head up. There.
"Muyho-"
The ceiling above me caved in suddenly, sending huge pieces of rubble, rock and dust into the air. I tumbled back with a slight scream and hit the floor hard, coughing dust out of my lungs and losing my grip on the dead child's body. When the Holy crusader finally caught up, she came to an abrupt halt, wide eyed at the the form of a man standing in the dust. As it cleared, her face grew more intense and serious and she clenched her sword firmly.
"...Miyazaki..."
He smiles at both of us, noticing the dead child I dropped when I fell to the floor.
"...Oh my. A Holy crusader killed a child? Now that's just obscene."
I looked him up and down as the dust faded. At his feet was a dead body as well. An angel wing marked the shoulder plate of the body's armor, and on her head was orange hair like the woman standing in front of me, only shorter. The crusader saw this instantly and gasped.
"-Ilena...!"
Muyho shifted on his left leg and kicked the body with his right.
"You crusaders can be such a pain in my a**. Always waving your sword around like a freaking claymore."
"You-don't touch her!" she said.
"Or what?" he turned his head to avoid a few falling peices of rock. "You'll chop my head off? -That's funny, because that's the same thing she said before I broke her little neck."
She gasped.
"She was doing well when we started, I'll give her that. But no one with a sword can touch me. Even if it is your sister."
The crusader growled and stared hard at him with her white eyes. The air went suddenly cold and heavy and small peices of rubble began to lift from the floor. Muyho perked up his eyebrows.
"You won't get away from me, Demon...!"
The crusader flew towards Muyho at a blinding speed, the ground beneath her cracking from pressure, Muyho dodged her multiple attacks and took hold of her blade. She jerked her arm back in an attempt to break free but he clenched it to the point that his fingers bled.
"...!"
"I see you have learned how to properly release your Divine energy, Olivia."
She yanked at her hand harshly and Muyho's black hair shifted to cover his eyes. A heavier feeling hit me and I watched closely as the veins in the arm that held the sword protruded from his skin. It seemed as if the pressure from the surrounding air could crush anything.
"Would you rather me end this now or later?"
The grip on the cruaders's arm grew tighter as Muyho retracted his claws into her wrist. "I'm quite sure your sister is dying to see you."
"You won't get away with this." she croaked, her energy fighting his. "If the Holy crusaders don't kill you, the Radiant crusaders will!"
His eyes come back into sight and he cocks an eyebrow. "And what if they don't?"
"Don't you worry, they will. Eria will see to it."
"...Hm. I see." His face suddenly exploded with black splotches in the veins and he twists her arm akwardly, taking no obvious notice in her screaming.  "I'll be waiting for that then, Olivia."
I turned away when he dropped her arm and struck with the bottom of his palm, fast upward just below her nose. Everything froze in time and I saw Muyho was releasing all of his Demonic-energy at one time to insure a fatal blow. At the moment I guessed the bone in the crusader's nose hit the brain and peirced the nervous system, killing her instantly.
She tumbled to the rubble, a faint cloud of dust surrounding her and her sister's body.
"...It is done..."
Muyho turned to me and glanced at the child's dead body not too far away.
"I don't quite understand why you brought the dead child. I am not a warlock. There is nothing I can do for her." He held out his hand, not appearing as if he would come to me. "Shall we go...?"
I sat for a moment in shock. He didn't care in the least.
Neither did I.
"Yes sir, I'm coming."
We both stepped over the three dead bodies hand-in-hand.

***

"We can't rest Muyho. The second Eria finds out you wiped out the Holy crusaders, she'll send the Radiant crusaders after us. And even you had a problem killing them the last time."
Muyho sipped at his water and peered about the tavern.
"Muyho?"
I wave my had in front of his face. "Hello? Are you even listening to me?"
He focuses on me suddenly. "-I'm sorry, what sweetie?"
"What's wrong with you? You've been acting like this ever since we left the tower."
"Acting like what?"
"Well I don't know! ...Blank faced, talking to yourself. I'm starting to worry about you."
He smiled softly into his glass.
"Don't. I'm fine."
"No," I reach for his hand on the table and squeeze it lightly. "You're not. Is it something I did? If it is..."
A waitress clicked to our table and sat another glass of water in front of Muyho, then poured more coffee into my mug. I nodded at her politely.
"More cream please,"
She winked and went off to the kitchen.
"If it is," I continued, wiggling my eyebrows suggestivly "-then I can make it up to you. We could go upstairs and..."
He glared. "Cut it out."
I frowned and suddenly grew embarrased. Muyho used to hurt me in ways that I could barely remember. Or would try not to. And now I was asking for it. When I turned eighteen he finally came to his senses and realized how horrible of a person he was. He actually seeked out help and vowed never to abuse me again. His urges morphed into the sickening hobby of randomly snatching up little girls and making them believe he was their father.
No doubt that he still needed help for that.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said that." I took a spoon and stirred my coffee. "Where the hell is that waitress  with my cream?"
We both sat in silence and avoided eye contact. The tavern was pretty barren and the sun was beginning to rise. The tiny rays of light lit our table nicely and little bugs swarmed in it's warmth. I was happy to smell soap instead of booze and cigarrette smoke for once. They had to of just cleaned this place.
"I'm glad you quit smoking." He said.
"What?"
"Smoking. I'm glad you stopped."
I blinked. Muyho used to encourage my smoking habit. The only reason I stopped was because of the child.
"Who are you and where's Muyho?" I smiled.
He sipped his water and ran his fingers up the glass. "I don't know."
"Here's your cream ma'am." Our waitress returned with three mini cups of cream and held them out to me. "Sorry for the delay."
"There's no one here, what could you've been doing?"
I took the small packs of cream and poked a hole in the top of them all. Squeezing one after another into my mug. "And can I have some sugar too?"
Muyho brought his hand across the table and wrapped his fingers around the handle of my mug, taking a long sip, his Adam's apple flicked up and down with each swallow.
"May I have this?" he asked. The waitress nodded at us both and handed him a spoon and napkin.
"And sugar for you ma'am?" she asked.
"Yes please."
As she walked away Muyho sipped at my coffee with a satisfied look, then curiosity.
"What is this?"
"Coffee silly. The stuff old people drink. -What, you haven't tasted coffee before?"
"I've seen it but I always thought it smelled disgusting."
"It does."
Muyho stared into his mug increduously for a minute or two.
"...Kurenai...how can you stand it?"
"Oh, I just put some sugar and cream in it to-"
"No. I mean me."
I followed his expression until we were staring right into each others eyes. That was an odd change of subject. And he was serious.
"What do you mean?" I said.
"You know exactly what I mean."
I shrugged and shook my head, rewarded with him slamming his palm on the table.
"Stop being stupid!"
Startled by the sudden racket, the waitress behind the counter fumbled with a glass she was cleaning and dropped it on the counter. It shattered in about a million peices and she retreated to the kitchen. Served her right. She should have been getting my sugar.
I pushed my hair back, not as scared as I should've been. When I was younger that would have probably made me wet my pants. But I'm used to it now. I could hold my own against him.
"I'm not being stupid. I just don't get what you're yelling about."
"Yes you do. How could you put up with me when you were younger? I don't understand."
"Neither do I."
He watched me calmly stack the empty cream cups and sighed. "I treated you horribly, and you never ran away. Why?"
I shifted in my chair. "Hey, does your back hurt? These chairs are really uncomfortable."
"Kurenai, would you listen to me?"
I flicked one of the empty cream cups from the stack. There was no way I was going to answer him. I didn't even know if I had an answer. All I knew is that Muyho needed help that I was sure only I could provide.
But the big question was, was it even worth all the pain I went through? Was helping a Demon that hadn't helped a soul in his life possible? I mean, he was aready damned, and he was diagnosed with schizoprenia a couple years back. I was pretty sure he had some kind of emotional illness too...
He was a looney bin altogether basically.
"Kurenai!"
I jumped back into the tavern. Everything returning to me all at once. Muyho was standing now, his face filled with frustration and his eyes wet. I looked left, then right. Finally at him.
"Screaming won't get you anywhere with me." I said.
He slammed his hand on the table again, the only thing he could do to avoid slapping me in the face I supposed. I got a little nervous then. Lucky for me he settled back into his chair queitly and rested his face in his palms. I hesitantly took my chair, moving closer to him.
"I'm sorry. I don't get why you're throwing a tantrum." I teased.
"...w...hy?"
"Huh?"
"I wanted to hit you so badly just now...why are you wasting your life with me?"
I ran my fingers through his black hair and leaned down to see his face.
"I don't know, I haven't figured it out yet. But until then, could you not be bipolar? You have meds. for that and it scares me."
We sat in the tavern until the sun was beaming. The later it got the more crowded it became. Muyho had problems, I knew that and I could live with it. But what I couldn't live with was him crying all the time and beating on himself. I hated to see him cry over me, as if I was being forced to stay with him. I loved him so much it was impossible to explain; and I wanted to help him.

***

"Kurenai, wake up."
My eyes opened instantly from Muyho's voice. The faint smell of Heroine made me rub my nose with my arm and sit up. I was in a small room on a filthy mattress; there was no detail whatsoever, except for the two brown wooden doors opposite of each other, one probably leading downstairs and the other to the bathroom. A cold air hit me and I shivered, my night dress from the tower barely came to my kneecaps and the fact that it was sleevless didn't help at all. Muyho sat, legs crossed to the right of me. His cheek bones glistened from the moonlight pouring in from the window above our heads, and his eyes seemed to tremble in delight at the sight of mine.
He touched my cheek with the knuckle of his hand, gently pushing my hair back then leaning forward to meet my lips. "We need to go. I sense the crusaders have set out to find us."
After his mouth pressed against mine, my taste buds exploded and I gently kissed him back. We sat, taking in eachother for a moment, and then I finally broke away. Smiling and looking around I could tell that we were probably still in the tavern, just upstairs.
"How long...?"
"All day." he responded. "I had a feeling you would be tired after the walk here."
"Why didn't you wake me sooner?" I said, jumping up and searching for my shoes. The dusty, wood floor chilled my feet.
"I wanted you to rest, sweetie. You needed it."
"Well, that's all fine and dandy until the Radiant crusaders get here and chop both of our heads off in our sleep." I spotted my shoes in a corner and stepped into them. "I'm ready, let's go."
"Wouldn't you like to wash up before we go?" he asked. I must have had a weird expression on my face because all he did was smile.
"Why not?"
"You just said the Radiant crusader have set out to find us."
"That doesn't mean we have to go in poor hygene. Besides, it takes them a good half-an-hour to decend from heaven."
"Stop joking around and come on. We can wash later."
"The bartender said we could use the shower, so we will. This might be the only luxury we get for days, maybe weeks; so if I were you, I would take advantage of it."
I thought he was joking until he began undressing. I looked towards the window so I wouldn't seem like a pervert.
"I can't believe you're serious...this place is disgusting. Washing here might make you..." he was already in the bathroom. I sighed and flipped my shoes off.

"What is your name child?" the stranger says, touching my face with his cold fingers. "Do you remember?"
A crash sounds not too far away in the village I live in and I turn to look. I'm so little, about eight or nine. We're in a forest right outside of my home, where a Demon I don't know is talking to me. This is the Demon that set my village on fire.
I shriek from the flames that eloped us both. The fire had spread to the trees and wasn't too far away from where we were.
"It's Kurenai now," the man answers for me. "I'm renaming you Kurenai Yanamaka."
I have no idea where I am, but I suddenly realize how beautiful this man is. His eyes sink into mine. I forget about everything.
"...Daddy..." I say blankly, not knowing if it's a question or not. I wrap my arms around him, he embraces me like a plushie. My little elf body is twenty times smaller than this man and I'm sure he can barely feel me.
He silently goes on, "You, my little girl. You belong to me. We will be together forever."
I weep in this man's chest, trembling, as if I just noticed my family was gone. I had the chance to rescue them, but I didn't. Now I knew this Demon was my only real chance at having a life. Maybe even a normal life. The man picked me up and held me tight. The fire was so close. So warm. My eyes unbelievably heavy, I almost drifted away. Whoever this man was, wherever he came from, he loved me very much. More than my parents I'm sure. More than anyone.
He took one glance at my face smiling brightly.
"My name is Muyho, child." I smiled back and he replied. "I am your new everything."
My new everything? What did that mean? Did I only need him in replacement of my mom or dad?

***

I opened my eyes at that memory. I lay on my back on the mattress, my arms and legs splayed as they pleased and my hair ruffled around my head. That was when I was human. And when I was gulible. It's been twelve years since then so I should get over it soon. There's no way I could change the past anyway.
A knock sounded from the window and I turned to look. A man with electric blue dyed hair smiled and waved at me, his white teeth shining. I jumped up and let him in.
"Alec...?"
He hopped from the window seal and perked his eyebrows at me.
"Kuren."
That nickname made me smile as he reached for the window to close it. "Oh no, I got it." he stepped away from the window. "What are you doing here?"
"I felt Muyho's aura. It was the most familiar thing I've felt all day."
"That doesn't answer my question." I smiled and embraced him. Alec was one of my playmates back when I was younger. Him and his friend Danny always used to keep me company when Muyho wasn't around. They were human until they got sixteen. Then they were turned by...well Muyho. "Oh gosh, look at you. You look exactly the same since I saw six years ago."
He really did. He still had his baby face and only his hair was any longer than it used to be. He dyed it when he was fourteen for some strange reason. His lips were a bright pink and stood out immensly from his pale, flawless skin. He wore a thin black T-shirt that defined his chest and abs to the point I giggled at them. A chain hung from the right of his black pants and the Japanese Kanji character '歳' (age) was connected. He wasn't wearing socks or shoes so I warmed his feet with the bottom of mine. His toes were colder than the floor.
He ruffled my hair, "But you don't. Look how tall you've gotten, Kuren. And your hair, it's so cute."
"Yeah," I said, comparing our heights. He was about one inch taller than me. "You're so silly-Alec I'm twenty now!"
His eyes bulged slightly. "No s**t? Are you kidding?"
"Of course not! I last saw you when I was fourteen. Six years ago, silly."
He looked at me like he was looking for the first time, then hugged me again.
"Oh you love me now?" I giggled pushing him playfully. "Now that you know I'm twenty?"
"I'm sorry I never visited you. I lost track of time. And I can only go out at night you know."
"Its okay." I grinned."Me and Muyho have been bonding for a while." then stood on my toes near his ear. "He's seeing a psychiatrist."
He blinked, letting me go and frowning at the same time. "He's doing what?"
"I know, it's hard to believe, huh?"
"Does it help? I mean, does he still hurt you?"
I smiled sheepishly. "Nah, not anymore..."
Alec seemed unconvinced. I shut the window tight, leaning my forehead on the glass.
"He made a promise to me when I was eighteen...he hasn't hurt me since then."
I touched the window with my fingers. Looking below at the ground. Two figures stepped out of the tavern entrance, laughing and stumbling with each step they took, obviously drunk. I watched as they wandered over to a nearby tree.
"Is Danny with you?" I asked.
"Yeah. He doesn't feel comfortable around Muyho so he's downstairs."
I blinked so I could see the figures clearly. One was most definetly Danny. I could tell his slim body from anyone's. Long legs and arms. The other was a female I didn't know.
"He's out there, you know."
Alec peered over my shoulder and followed my gaze.
He didn't react in any obvious way, he only made a noise in his throat.
"Danny has been neglecting to keep his urges under control. Let him have his fill."
"He's going to kill her. You can't possibly be okay with that."
"She's a human. Vampires couldn't care less about them."
I heard a low scream and then it was gone. Alec tapped his claws on the window sill, his tounge peircing clicking against his top teeth.
"You know," he said, turning my attention to him. "the Radiant crusaders are on their way here right now. Rumor has it they decended from heaven a few minutes ago."
"Rumors spread fast." I said. "Muyho wiped out the Holy crusaders just this morning."
He perked up his eyebrows.
"Those guys caught us both by surprise." I continued, turning away from the window. "I barely survived the leader of the unit. She almost killed me."
The bathroom door opened and Muyho shut the door behind him. When he looked up he froze. Alec jerked his chin upward in greeting.
"Long time no see."
He glanced at me then Alec again. I grinned softly and shimmied past him. "Alec, you should leave. Don't come back here-it's dangerous."
Before either of them could speak, I ran and retreated into the bathroom.

***

After I got cleaned up I grabbed my shoes and ran down the stairs. Alec warned me that the Radiant crusaders were here and he wanted nothing to do with them. I found that rather self-centered but he left me some money so I wasn't that upset. Our goodbye was pretty long and drawn out and before he leaped from the window he told me to be safe and kissed my cheek. I told him to punch Danny for me as a hello. He just smiled. -But anyway, if the crusaders were on their way we needed to leave now. I didn't know why we would waste our time here anyway, seeing that a tavern would be the first place I would check if I was looking for a Demon. I threw our waitress from yesterday some of the money Alec gave me and thanked her. She knew who we were and I was kind of a b***h. She could have ratted us out. I would have.
"You're very welcome, come back anytime." she said.
The tavern was extremely crowded with women and men of every sort. I wiggled through everyone and headed for the door until I felt a tug on my arm. I spun around and stared up at a tall man with black hair and dark-red eyes. He looked so familiar.
I smiled thinly. "Uh...can I help you?"
He tilted his head and did not respond. Just stared. I frowned and snatched my hand back. I didn't walk away though. I felt like I knew who this man was. He had my eyes, my hair color, my nose.
"Who are you?" I said. A strange wind blew my night dress forward and I held it down. The fact that I was inside and there was wind made me worry more than anyone seeing my panties. He blinked, the world around us spinning rapidly. I looked around at everything and instantly got dizzy. When I was on the verge of falling over the spinning stopped.
"I've been waiting for you, sister."
I stumbled forward to the floor. My head wouldn't stop whirling. When my eyes could see clearly I gazed down at my hands. The floor was gone, replaced with a thin sheet of glass that seperated the both of us from the flames on the other side. I jumped up and screamed. The closest thing I could grab onto was this stranger so I did. He moved his arm and placed it over my shoulder.
"Don't worry, you won't fall."
My heart pounded under my ribcage. I was extremely terrified of heights. Especially when I was above a flaming pit with corpses, Demons and burning bodies that appeared to be still alive. I buried my face into this man's chest and gripped his sleeves.
"Take me back! Please...!"
"...If Muyho survives against the Divine army, this is what heaven will become."
I took another look, at the same time gaining the confidence to let go of him. My black shoes clicked against on the clear glass below.
"Are we in...?"
"No," he answered. "This is Heaven's gate."
The bottom of my dress lifted from the wave of heat that hit us both and I squinted. I looked back at the man who was staring down incredulously at the blaze.
He put his hands in his pockets.
"You're joking right? This is heaven's gate?" I struggled to make a slight smile to calm myself down. "I imagined it a little more holy and bright."
"That's how it used to be."
"Before what?"
He gestured behind me with his eyes and I turned to look. Muyho stood not too far away with a smile.
"Kurenai." he said.
I stepped forward but the man stopped me with his words.
"He wiped out all of the angels. The second he defeated the Divine army he took advantage of their weakness."
The man took my arm and Muyho dissapeared. "He destroyed the angel race all by himself."
I didn't respond. I just pulled away.
"That can't be true. He's changed. Muyho isn't the same anymore."
"And? Does that mean anything? Honestly?"
"He promised he would get help. What reason does he have to exterminate a race?"
He shrugs. "He hates angels, what other reason is there?"
We stood and stared at eachother. I'm sure I had a very worried expression on my face because the man frowned as well.
"I'm sorry this all has to happen to you, sister. You've been hurt so many times."
I shook my head and covered my mouth with the palm of my hand. "He did this...I can't believe..."
"Someone that has been scarred like Muyho has, cannot truly be healed. Even if his anger and emotion is hidden, and he's promised you he would get better, a Demon's happiness never lasts for too long. In time, the calm gentle person you thought he was will dissapear."
Screams of forsaken souls rang in my ears. The dead with an eternal life in the fire. I couldn't bear to see it anymore.
"...Take me back..."
He sighed quietly and took one last glance.
"As you wish."
The pit of fire we were now in began spinning around us. I shut my eyes tight, my skin tingling and my head bobbing from the dizzyness. When I opened them we were back in the tavern. The room came to an abrubt halt and the commotion ressumed as if we never left.
The man had a sympathetic expression when I looked him in the eye.
"What can I do about it?" I said.
"That is your decision to make. Not mine."
My mind flashed back to the fire, the dead bodies moaning nonstop. I had to stop this. Even if I did love Muyho, I could never allow him to bring such chaos upon the world.
"....I'm going to have to kill him, aren't I...?"
The man does no respond. I figured it was the right answer then.
"I don't know if I can." I say.
"Its him or the world. The choice is yours."
Someone bumps me as the walk past and I tumble back, suddenly remembering him calling me sister. Did I know him?
When I catch my balance I spout the question.
"Am I your...?"
But he was gone. I search around for him until I lose myself in the crowd. He couldn't have just left that quickly. Well, I was sure he could but I still had questions he needed to answer.
I felt a slight wind pull me forward and I found myself looking down at a slip of paper on the floor. I bent over to pick it up and was about to read it until someone grabbed my arm.
"Hey!"
I turned, hoping it was the stranger, but was dissapointed. Muyho stared at me with his big worry filled eyes.
"What are you doing? We have to leave." he said.
I instantly felt hatred for him. Right at this moment he was planning to plunge the whole world into darkness. Nothing could make me forgive him for that. He was lying right through his teeth about everthing ever since he made that stupid promise. He was never protecting me when we were fighting the Holy crusaders, he was just trying to reach his goal.
"I know that." I replied sharply, taking my arm back and heading for the exit.
When I got outside a cold wind hit me. I wrapped my arms around myself and waited for Muyho to catch up. How could this happen? I thought Muyho had changed. I thought this was actually working... ... I thought...he loved me...
"Are you cold?" that b*****d asked me as he stepped out of the tavern.
"No."
"If you'd like, I can go inside and get you a blanke..."
"I said I'm not cold, stop treating me like a child. We need to leave."
He blinked at that. Not really phased by it. I wanted to slap him so hard that my hand was forever imprinted on his face. Everyday, he would look in the mirror and see that mark, remembering how I slapped him for being a giant a*****e.
"Right." the b*****d said. "Are your friends coming?"
I gave him my best look of 'What the hell?' I could do but he didn't get the message.
"I know being around me all the time can be a burden."
Hell yeah. A Fifteen million pound burden. Before I could come up with a smart mouthed remark he gestured to what was in my hand.
"What's that?"
I balled the slip of paper in my fist and said nothing. Muyho reached out for it but I stepped back.
"Its none of your bussiness."
"What is it?"
"Don't worry about it."
I turned, heading for the road, the second I took my first step Muyho snatched me back and shoved me into the side of the tavern building.
"Give it to me."
"Ow, Muyho!" I struggled to wiggle my wrists out of his grip, but failed. I wasn't stupid and I knew I couldn't get away, so I opened my hand and watched as the paper flutter to the ground.
He kept a hold on my arms while he bent over and retreived the note.
"I don't know what it says I swear, I didn't rea-"
"Shut up."
Muyho unfolded the paper and looked it over.
"What the hell is this?"
I saw that it was blank and shivered.
"I don't know."
"Don't lie to me. Did that bloodsucker give it to you?"
I soon realized he meant Alec. My throat burned with anger. "Don't you dare talk about my friend that way! He's a much better person than you!"
He struck my jaw with the side of his hand, sending my head jerking to the right. Right at that moment he had broken his promise to me. My eyes poured with tears and I growled silently.
"You sick..." I began.
"Hey, what are you doing?" A stranger looked at us from around the side of the tavern with a curious and concerned face. We both looked and blinked in silence.
"... ... ..." Muyho released me and I avoided eye contact with the man. He said in a low voice only I could hear: "I'm going to enjoy beating your a**."
I smiled at that. "I'm sure you will you dirty liar." When Muyho turned to leave the man asked me if I was alright.
"Thank you sir. I really appreciate your help."
The man shook my hand.
"No problem. You be careful, you hear?"
I nodded and he placed something in my hand without a word, then turned back into the tavern.
It was another note. I didn't hesitate opening it and Reading the contents:

"Do what you think is right sister."

I sighed and swore. I didn't know what was right. I thought helping Muyho get better was the right thing to do but that wasn't going too well.
"Please," I said to myself. "Tell me what to do. I don't know what the right thing is..."
The wind began to silently whisper in my ears and the note let off an ominous glow. I dropped the paper and stepped back, but it continued to float motionless. Night seemed to turn to daytime from the bright light that beamed from the air. I knew the stranger from before was my brother and he would help me.
So with that in mind, I slowly reached out for the note and brought it up to my heart.
"Save me, brother."

Chapter 2: Danterious Roy & Qual Lentias Yanamaka

I walked to a nearby Ramen shop in the same village the tavern was in. I had no idea who Roy was, but if he could help me stop Muyho from defeating the Divine army, then I didn't care. I looked up at the wooden sign: "Yoroshima's Ramen shop" and peered through the window. It wasn't crowded but it wasn't near empty. I was hesistant to enter but when I did a man in a dark pink apron welcomed me with a bright smile.
"Welcome to Yoroshima's Ramen shop." he beamed. I tumbled back against the door and blinked. His brown hair stuck to the sides of his throat, showing that he must work in the kitchen or something. We locked eyes, his gleaming a bright green. His face was white and his lips were pink. Beads of sweat dotted his brows.
"Oh...hi..." I said.
"No need to be shy, just find a seat and sit in it. We have a special on..."
"I need to speak with Roy. I haven't come here to eat."
His smile faded when I showed him the note the stranger gave me and he looked me over.
"Who are you?"
"My name is Kurenai Yanamaka. I need to speak to Roy."
"I'm sorry I can't help you." He suddenly turned, walking away. I followed after him.
"Wait-can you just tell me where I could find Roy? I really need to-"
"You're not welcome here, leave now."
He circled the counter and pushed through the doors leading to the kitchen. Steam hit my face as I wiggled inside, almost bumping into a waitress with two trays in her hand.
"But you've got to help me find him. He said Roy was the only one who could and told me he was here."
He grabbed a few dirty plates and gently tossed them into the sink. Bubbles splashed onto the floor and the faint smell of bleach filled my nose.
"Who said that?" he asked dryly.
"I don't know, I didn't get his name."
The man stopped and I crashed into his back. He suddenly turned to me and stared.
"Some stranger just walked up to you, handed you a note and said you needed Roy's help?"
I nod.
"Well I'm Roy. What do you need?"
He grinned sarcastically and pressumed walking through the kitchen. I chased after him again.
"What? You're Roy? Danterious Roy?"
When we passed out from the kitchen he entered a small living room. It was junky but cozy. He had a desk in the corner, covered with sheets of paper and an empty bowl hidden under. Books inhabited his floor, bookshelves and the black leather couch that was to the right of his wooden desk. Other than a small mirror, two windows that shined with the darkness of the night, and a metal rack with drying towels near the mirror; pictures of food hung from the walls and I guessed he had a cooking fetish. Roy pulled off his apron, stepping over all of the books and clutter, and threw it onto a hook behind the door.
"That's me."
I barely had time to squeeze in from the hallway I was observing from before he shut the door. I could tell he wanted me out, but I wasn't going to give up that easily.
"Then you're the one I need to talk to." I was on the verge of sitting on the sofa in the corner but he glared at me so I stood. "You know about the Radiant crusaders right?"
"The who?"
"The Radiant crusaders. One of the three military units of heaven?"
"Never heard of them." he pulled down the blinds, not seeming as though he would kick me out until I was finished. I casually continued.
"Are you sure? I mean, I thought every one knew about them."
We were both silent. I looked around at his room for any evidence that he knew of Angels but they, as I saw before, were just on cooking. I squinted at his bookshelf and began reading numerous titles on cuisine and regional specialties.
"So you're saying you don't know anything about the Angels?"
"They don't particularly intrest me. I try to stay out of their way. As you may have seen, I'm more of a chef."
He walked over to his over-cramped bookshelf and grabbed a book stuffed with papers between numerous pages. After scanning the binding he headed for a door opposite of the one we came in from, stopping to take a look in the mirror at himself and catching a mistaken glance of me behind him. My face was filled with signs of eminent sobbing.
"For God's sake," he groaned and turned to me. "I hate it when girls cry."
"Well, if you hate it so much," I whimpered. "why don't you help me? Do you know how much I'm risking even coming here? Muyho could barge in that door and beat the living s**t out of me."
"Hey, that's your problem not mine."
"What? You're saying you don't care?"
After a moment of staring he snagged one of the slips of paper in his book and handed it to me, at the same time pointing to the exit.
"Now if you don't mind, I have some reading to catch up with..."
I read the small print carefully:

'Naiki's therapy sessions'

Here we deal with our friends who are going through abusive relationships and can't get out. These session are...

I stopped reading there and frowned. I couldn't convince him so what was the use? At least he was nice enough to suggest this.
"Fine. I'll leave." I said, turning and opening the door.
"Danterious."
We both looked into the hallway. Staring into the eyes of the stranger I met before in the tavern. He didn't pay me any attention, just focused on Roy, who was behind me. His expression was not the same calm and sensitive face as before, it was serious.
"Why will you not aid my sister?" he asked.
I turned to face him. Roy's face filled with shock, then embarrasment, as if he felt obligated to this man.
"I didn't realize..."
"I specifically told you I would send her here if the time came. The time is now."
"But she's with-"
"Muyho is no longer concerned with her whereabouts. Now that the Holy crusaders are out of his way, and the Radiant crusaders are in the human world, he doesn't need her."
Roy directed his gaze to me, scanning my body.
"Why would he need her anyway? Does he have a problem with killing her? If he does-"
"That is incorrect." the man said. "Muyho will not hesitate killing her. If he has to, he will without a doubt."
I peered down at my black shoes, feeling my toes wiggle uncomfortably with no socks. He was right, if Muyho wanted to actually kill me, I'm sure he would have done it a while ago.
"So what do you want me to do?" Roy said unenthusiatically. "Just go and kick the living crap out of a guy that can wipe out the Holy crusaders in a half-an-hour?"
I realized that second that Roy did know about the crusaders. Once again I had been lied to.
"No," the man said. "But with Kurenai's help I'm sure you could do some damage."
"What can she do?"
"That question is not in need of an answer. Do as I say Danterious."
Roy snorted and turned to open the door he was in front of. I flinched when he walked in and slammed it. One of the books from the shelf fell to the carpet with a low 'thud'.
"I can't beleive I'm helping her!" he said from the other side. I balled my fist tightly and ripped the note he gave me in half.
"He is such a jerk. Just like any damn guy."
The man, I now realized was my brother, stepped into the room from the hallway.
"Sister. Are you alright?" he asked. I nodded.
"I'm good. Just a little upset."
He looked into my eyes softly. Was that how my eyes really looked? Dark red? They were beautiful. My brother was beautiful. His black hair was short, touching the tips of his ears. His nose was pointed a little, like mine; his face was long but normal and on his neck was a tattoo of a cross, laced with a black feathered wing. His collar bones were exposed by his collarless shirt and his shoulders were broad. I wanted to savior every detail of this man. I wanted to stain this image in my brain so I wouldn't forget.
"So what's your name anyway?" I solemnly added.
"Its Qual. Qual Lentias Yanamaka."
"...one of those names was your middle name right?"
"Yes. Lentias."
"And what's Qual short for?"
The sound of a toilet flushing filled the silence in the room suddenly and Roy stepped out. I was too curious to be mad at him for rejecting me.
"Roy, I have a brother." I said, eager to share.
He stared at me with bored eyes, and pushed his book back into his shelf.
"Does Muyho..."
Qual looked to me, reminding me of the situation I was in. Duh. I mentally slapped myself.
"I'm sorry."
"It's quite alright." he said. "Roy, gather your things."
"What, now?" he groaned, about to sit down
"Yes, now. Kurenai, we'll start off without him."
"Are you sure...?"
"I'm sure." He pushed me out of the door. "Don't take your time Roy. The world will end if you do."
When he closed the door something shattered on the other side.

***

We left the Ramen shop, Qual pushing me most of the way because of my numerous questions about him and his name. When we hit the trail he let me walk on my own and we began talking about family stuff. He finally started answering my question and he asked me questions like where I went when our village burned down, the kind of people I met on my 'adventure' with Muyho. Basic things.
"You met two vampires?" he asked.
"Yeah. We used to hang out when we were little. Muyho got them turned when they got sixteen because he didn't want me to ever be lonely when he was away. So I really didn't 'meet' two vampires, I suppose."
"Did they want to be turned?"
I shook my head. "It was a painful process and they knew it. He used an injection that made their heart stop but kept them breathing."
He was silent. I knew all of this was hard to take in. I had already told him the things Muyho used to do to me if I didn't do as he said. And he stopped me when I started talking about his mental issues.
"Muyho is a sick b*****d. I hope you know that." Qual scoffed. "I'm going to kill him for the things he's done to you."
"Be my guest."
"If you still have feelings for him, I strongly suggest letting them go right now."
"I don't." I lied.
The air went cold, along with his mood and voice. I didn't know what my brother could do, but if he was planning on killing Muyho then he must have confidence.
"Qual, I know this is a dumb question, but are you Demon?"
He shrugged. "It's not a dumb question at all. I haven't decided if I want to be one yet."
"Has your body tried to turn?"
"Hm. Once or twice."
I imagined Qual about to turn. His eyes changing to a sickly and empty black color. His body spasming out of control from the extreme pain of the metamorphasis. His nails would grow a few inches and his teeth would become fangs, the bones in his body creating a strong marrow around themselves to make them nearly impossible to break.
I, of course wasn't meant to turn. But being around a Demon all the time teased my body into it I guess. Muyho held me down while it was happening and it was more excruciatingly painful than anything I'd ever felt. I jumped into the story, considering we were on the subject and we were walking in uncomfortable silence.

{I was twelve when I was turned. I looked pretty much the same, just a little bit smaller and shorter hair. That day my body had been acting odd. I was having random seziures, I was sweating immensly and every minute I had to take a leak. Muyho's behaivior was creeping me out as well, outside of his usual strangeness, he asked me weird questions that had nothing to do with anything. Like "Do your ribs feel itchy?" or "Have you had the sudden urge to rip off you fingers nails?".
Whatever.
I walked into his room, thankful that he wasn't there, and into his bathroom; becuase I liked his better than any one's in the tower, I used it more than mine. He never used it so it was uber clean all the time.
I shut and locked the door, standing over the toilet and pulling my pants and undies down. I could have sworn that I just used the bathroom a couple of minutes ago but I thought nothing of it and did my thing. After washing my hands and stepping out I heard the door into the bedroom open. I spun around and gasped.
"Oh," I said, frowning at his figure in the doorframe. "Muyho."
He closed the door behind him without a word, his eyes seering through every pore in my skin. All of a sudden my body went light. As if I weighed nothing I collapsed and stared blankly at my reflection in his pupils.
"What are you doing?" I whispered.
He kneeled down in front of me and took my face in his hands.
"I'm changing you, darling."
I felt another spasm coming on, my fingers gripping the carpet. Only this one lasted for five minutes. When it began, Muyho held me tightly to stop me from moving anywhere. My throat became blocked and my appendages went fluid, everything around me was extremely blurred and I had the sudden urge to rip my fingernails off.
After about a minute of that Muyho carfully moved me to his bed, his huge body covering most of my little elf body as it shook uncontrolably. His touch seemed to push my nerves farther into the change and my spine snapped, going contorted and arranging itself the opposite way. My ribcage extended, growing an extra coating of marrow that soon spreaded to my hipbone, legs, ankles and feet, the skin turning red from the suddeness of the stretch. My eyes rolled back into my skull and I cried out. A loud screaching noise that could hurt a human's eardrums. Muyho smoothed back my hair with his hand, silently observing the movements going on under my skin. He positioned himself on top of me so he could stare closely into my eyes and keep a good grip on my arms. He leaned down to my ear and the only thing I could feel was his breath as my body went numb.
"You're almost there." he said.
For almost seven full minutes this spasm went full throttle. My limbs grew twice their normal length, my teeth that hadn't yet grown sprouted from their gums and became pointed, all of the color in my vision went crystal clear, the darkness I usually would be afraid of was now full of light. It was as if the room lights weren't even off. The pain I felt dissapeared and my body went light as it had before. After the spasm slowly came to a stop and I flexed my new appendages, staring up at Muyho.
"Ouch. Your sitting on me."
He moved and watched me stretch, catlike. I folded my legs under myself and looked at him with a tilted head.
"Did you...?" I asked, my huge twelve year old eyes meeting his. He took my chin between his thumb and forefinger, opening my mouth and moving my jaw in a circle.
"Yes. You're a demon now." I bared my teeth and he smiled. "Let me see your eyes."
When I leaned closer his smiled faded into a puzzled expression.
"That's odd. Your eye color hasn't changed at all." he said. "Turn around. Let me see your spine."
I waddled in a circle, back facing him and stretched once more. My back made a low cracking noise and I pressumed cracking my knuckles, toes, neck, and fingers while he checked my spine.
"It seems fine. Turn this way."
I turned again. He asked me to lift my arms and shirt, I did, then he pressed the tips of his fingers under my armpits, around the base of my breasts, my rib cage, and then my stomach and hips. When that was done he instructed me to stand and touch my ankles. I was pretty flexible so it was simple. He lifted the back of my shirt, checked my shoulder blades, felt the bones of my knees and finished at my thighs, patting my back with satisfaction.
"Alright. We're done, sweetie." he said. "You have officially been turned."
I looked myself over in slight dissatisfaction. I didn't want to be a demon, but if that's what Muyho wanted I would keep that to myself.}

But this was before I knew he was a sick b*****d. A really sick b*****d.

After my five minute story, Qual walked in silence to the right of me. His mind seemed to be somewhere else in the clouds. I shook him and he slowly turned his full attention at me.
"Yes, I heard you."
"No you didn't. You weren't listening."
"I was listening."
We stared at eachother for a while.
"You can't stand me can you?" I said. "You can't stand what I've become and what I've been through."
"Its not you Kurenai. None of this is your fault."
"Then who's fault is it? I can't blame Muyho can I? So many things are wrong with him it seems as if everything he's done is okay."
He nodded. Not happy to agree.
"Then I'm the one who has to fix it. So you have to train me to kill him."
"Roy is the one who's doing that, not me."
"Hey! Hold on a second!"
We stopped walking and turned to meet Roy.
"Danterious. You didn't t
