I'd like to nominate The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux
When the new managers of the Paris Opera House ignore their predecessors' warnings about the hideous 'Opera ghost' stalking the theatre, it is a fatal mistake. Tortured by unrequited love for the beautiful young singer Christine Daae, the mysterious figure living in the depths beneath them has been awaiting his chance to strike. And when Christine suddenly disappears after a triumphant singing performance, it becomes clear that the phantom's time has come. Filled with colour and theatrical spectacle, this thrilling gothic tale has enthralled readers with its mystery, eerie suspense and tragic story of love turned into deadly obsession Synopsis from Waterstones.com

I nominate Graham Joyce's How to Make Friends with Demons.
Here is part of what the back of the book says: After a series of seemingly unconnected personal encounters, William Heaney's life is thrown into a direction he does not fully comprehend. Past and present collide. Long-dormant choices and forgotten deceptions surface. Secrets threaten to become exposed. To weather the changes, William Heaney must learn one thing: how to make friends with demons.
It is actually a pretty good book so far.

I nominate Deep and Meaningful Diaries of Planet Janet. It was originally two books. One called Planet Janet and one called Planet Janet in Orbit. It's about a sixteen-year-old British girl who's going through the Dark Phase. She's kind of a goth wanna be, but it's very entertaining.
