Eerie footsteps sounded in the darkness, crunch...crunch..crunch...footfalls upon dead leaves. In the distance there was a light, dim among the black of the trees, bobbing to and fro with the sullen melody of it's owner's footsteps....

Having decided to travel alone for just this day as part of her training, Rylia came to a sudden stop on the path she had been walking on. Remaining still, she tried to listen for the noise she heard before. It had been footsteps. But the kind you heard when people normally walked. It was different, as if the owner of them were trying to send a message or perhaps...play a tune. When she felt she knew where the noise cam from, she turned her head, a dim light in the distance. Being a dark twilef, the dark didn't bother her as much, in fact, she probably felt more comfortable in it then in daylight. The only difference was that there was someone there. Usually, she would have ignored it, but this time curiosity won the battle and she found herself drawing near. Making her way towards the source of the dim light.
(( Not sure if this is done right. Of course now i think of a question to ask though.. ))

Wind cushioned her fall as she landed on the tree branch, rustling the leaves around her. A pale-skinned hand reached up to brush away a strand of even paler hair that had fallen into her eyes. Slivers of moonlight broke through the canopy of leaves above her, dancing delicately across her dress. Night time creatures scurried about, the sound of their small, pattering feet the only thing breaking the shadowed silence.
She headed deeper into the forest, catapulting off of the branch and flying towards another. Cold air coursed across her body, the cool a welcome relief. She didn't usually take midnight strolls - or flights, to be more accurate - through the forest like this. But she had to get out of that town, one over-populated by foolish drunks and even more foolish men.
A glimpse of light in the distance caught her eye, a twinkling star on a velvet sheet. She quickly found a branch to land on, settling on the balls of her feet, muscles tensed, ready to pounce.
Who could that possibly be?
With a lithe gracefulness powered by adrenaline and nerves, she stalked forward, her jumps now shorter and quieter. She got closer and close to the light, the speck of brilliance now seeming to bob up and down. As she got closer, the form of the light began to take shape - a lantern. Carrying it was a sullen man, his body glowing with an unearthly light.
After reaching down to grab her dagger, she stood, making sure she had made enough noise to signal her presence to the cloaked figure. It probably would have been smarter to just turn around, but her curiosity had been piqued. And she hadn't been known to make the smartest judgments after that happened.
You know, a dark forest isn't exactly the safest place to be wandering this time of night.

The small glowing sphere waggled as it's owner paused...and suddenly, thrashthrashthrash! Whatever it was..cloaked in shadow, eyes rubies glowing in the dark, it stampeded towards Rylia and Nashara.
"Greeeeeetingssss and salutations, dear customers!" it hissed with an inviting, persuasive voice from the shadow of its cloaks. "'Ave ye 'praps come ta purchase my serviiiiices?"
The strange being dug around in its rags, until a sparkling gleam was extracted, a jar filled with the glowing remnants of stars and the night.

The sudden start of the man startled her, and her fingers clenched even tighter on the dagger. She slowly relaxed as he offered his goods. She cocked her head, a quizzical smile spreading across her lips.
What an... interesting man.
With a quiet rustle, she leapt from the branch, landing delicately on the ground a few feet from the glowing salesman. She walked forward, making sure her hips swung delicately, enticingly, hungrily. He wasn't the only salesman around here.
"Well, that all depends on what you're selling," she drawled, her voice dripping like honey. She stopped her saunter inches from the man's face, pending down to get even closer. She parted her lips in a way that she knew made men want more, batting her eyes as well.
"And what you want in return."

A creature similar to an older constellation, though this one was older in spirit, wandered through this strange forest. He knew not of what was here, or why and how he had ended up here in the first place, but apparently there was something his mind sought out for. Filante crnuched his way through some dank old leaves, his lantern lighting the way, when he saw a peculiar, scrawny, shadowy merchant who had attracted other's of his kind as well.
He held his lantern up to see, "Well goodness for me! I think I've found what I've wanted!" he snickered to himself, and approached from behind the dark trees to join the others.
"Hello there, merchant!" Filante called out softly, but then his brown eyes caught way of the starry potion. looking at his body, that would be perfect for himself!

Rylia had been making her way towards the source of light, but she hadn't actually expected it to run up to her like that! It startled her somewhat, but it only lasted for merely a couple of seconds as it spoke, it's sentences dragged out more then needed. customers? she thought, pondering on the word as the definition clicked into her brain. Customers were buyers. Buyers from sellers of products! That's what she had been told. And not only that, but that she had to be wary of said sellers.
Watching, she watched as the odd..fellow, reached and dug around his rags. A jar. A glowing jar filled with objects she was not sure of. She wasn't sure how to reply at first, and thus just let the words carry themselves from her lips.
What would be...these services? The glowing bottle?" she asked. Though simply, the jar of..whatever it was drew her attention. Interesting it looked! Probably just as...interesting as the man selling it. "Services cost...a fee...what would it be?" she asked just a minute after her first as she stood there. Just what was going to happen next?

"Ohohohoho! Happy day!" the peddler cried, doing an ecstatic little jig as if he had just won the lottery, with his bony, shambling little legs. "I knew selling my goods in mysterious 'n dark, damp place 'ould ensure customers! Now then.... Ye want ta know what it is, aye little lass? Drink 'tis potion down, gulp gulp gulp....and soon, the stars of the nigh'd embrace ye! I 'kin sell it ta each of ye, for a price...yes..."
Ruby glows flickered in joy behind the shadows of the hooded thing. "'Tis time, I want ye' gold....Not ye' lips, lady!" he tsked at Nashara's advances, scuttling away to the top of a felled tree, producing several more bottles of the same, glowing potion. "10,000 gold per swallow! My coin purse, it's empty, ye see..." He jingled an empty, poor excuse of a pouch in front of them. "But this be a steeeeal, that it be! So.....whaddya buyin'?"

"Haha! Yesss!" Filante seemed to cheer out, though not too loud. "Just 10,000 gold? I got that on me, no problem!" He heard the merchant explain what the potion did, and he wanted it!! the stars around him, it would remind him even more of home than hopelessly staring up and the night sky.
"I'll be taking a potion from you, sir! I'd love to have that! It reminds me of home..." he looked up, but the night sky could not be seen.
"Please let me have one! I can pay you right away!" Filanted had a small satchel tied to his waist, just for this moment it seemed.

Rylia could only blink as she watch the peddler cry in happiness, dancing as it seemed. She couldn't help but smile as she watched him, clapping for about 3 seconds afterwards. Is this what it meant to put on a show? If so, she thought it was quite entertaining and funny at that! She smiled as watched, listening to him speak and even answer her question as to what this..potion would do. Stars of the nigh'd...embrace?" she muttered not quite catching what it meant until about a minute after she whispered it to herself. Interesting it seemed, yes!
She looked at him, as best she could. Not because of the darkness that surrounded them, but because of his matter of clothing. But back onto the subject of the matter, the potion. The price seemed hefty at first, but she smiled nonetheless. "Okay....I can buy one then yes? 10,000 gold..." she whispered as she took down a small bag that had been attached to her lantern, having just enough it seemed for very little would be left over.

"Yes, yeees, the shiny, jingling coin!" The peddler slunk forward, extending long, gnarled fingers, excitedly anticipating the touch of coin to his calloused palms, and produced two potions to give to each. "Drinky drinky! And what about you, lady-lady? 'Ave ye the desire for the nigh'?"

Filante gave the man the golden coins, 10,000 worth to him. The merchant certainly looked happy with glee that he now had some money, which made Filante even happier he was getting something out of it! the starry potion that would help him cope with being away from home...
"I just drink it, right? Easy enough." uncorking the tiny bottle, without seeing how it smelled or anything, he chugged it down his pale colored throat.

She smirked as the man jumped away from her advances, scuttling to a nearby stump. He reached into his haggard robes and pulled out severable bottles, the insides flickering and dancing with a strange light. A strange, enticing light.
She stepped forward, wanting to see more of what was in the bottle. She smiled at the comment he made next, a small giggle escaping from her lips.
"Oh, I am the desire of the night. But that's a talk for a different time." She reached into the folds of her dress, withdrawing a tightly bound coin purse. The metal inside faintly clanked against each other. "But I guess I can spare a little change for the stars in the sky. You "goods" aren't going to give me any strange side-effects, are they?"
She reached out, the purse clutched in her hand, and dropped the sack onto the wood in front of him. She looked up, a glint appearing into her eyes and a smile on her lips.
"Have any other 'goods' for sale?
