Exactly right. When did that become okay? I cannot find a HUGE turning point in the history of the world that would make people believe that way.
Also, I have a problem with people not respecting authority or elders. I hate to sound condescending, but because of my great close-knit Catholic upbringing I think it is terrible the way kids treat their parents and other adults. I would get reprimanded harshly if I did that when I was little.
To tie it in with the discussion, adults are not helping them. Everytime a child sees their parent pulling a trick to stay out of trouble, they take note. Kids cheat in everything, from stealing answers right under the teacher's nose to getting a good grade in PE by not following all the rules, while someone who is following the rules LOSES EVERY SINGLE TIME. (personal experiences) But, "No one was looking at me, so I can do it." WHAT IS THAT?
With the rate we're going, my generation will be TWICE as bad as the adults right now. That frightens me. It's one thing to be sad about it, but a future cheating world full of liars is enough to terrify me and keep me awake at night.
well, throughout history people have been this way in one place or another, although maybe not quite as profoundly as we are now,
but i think 2 huge turning points for us were Vatican II, and world war II,
although i can see alot of improvement lately, especially with the FSSP taking the church back to where it should be with their masses and their involvement in their communities, which are really thriving,
and our current Pope is also trying to get things back in order, although He has to be careful about it, because going to fast and making to big of changes will only confuse and upset people, but i can really see a big improvement, i think things will get better,
things are gunna be hard before they get better, but they
will get better, we just need to pray and do what we can to help our church.
