Well it is here that you can pot characters from other animes that remind you of those from FMa. Please give a good reason why.
For Edward Elric, he has always reminded me of Toshiro Hitsugaya from Bleach.
 <---> 
-They are both small for their age (shorties)
-They are both young but hold high positions in either the military (Ed) or the Soul Society (Toshiro)
-Both of them have made mistakes in their past that they want to atone for. Ed for trying to transmute his mother's soul and Toshiro for killing his best friend from the Shinigami Acandemy (Watch the bleach 1st movie for that info)
For Winry, it is Yuka from Elfen Lied
 <---> 
-they both are strong women (even though Yuka can be a MAry-Sue from time to time but so can Winry)
-they both have feeling for a certain somebody but their crush to too full of themselves to notice XD. (Yuka = Kouta, Ed = Winry)
-Both of them can be crybabies
-they are nurturers

the sweet far thing Ed and Toshiro are both short for their ages XD THAT WAS THE OTHER THING!!!!! i was trying to figure out another thing they have in commn but i never thought about the height. but the only thing is that edwatd makes a big deal over it while toshiro inqores it.

i'd have to disagree with the Winry/Yuka comparison. from my perspective, i'd say Yuka is more selfish and naggy than Winry without really any good reason. but then, i didn't really like Yuka very much, and i adore Winry so i guess my opinion's kinda biased...
regarding Ed & Shiro: not to mention they have same voice actress in Japanese XD but then again, that's a pattern with Paku Romi.
hm...if i had to compare any FMA characters to other ones, i would say Winry and Tifa from Final Fantasy VII, or more specifically Advent Children. while Tifa's more physically capable than Winry, they both worry about their love interests a lot, particularly about them obviously leaving them in the dark about stuff. of course, both Cloud and Ed eventually learn to share what's bothering them to the girls, as well as learn to rely on them for support.
i'm sure there are others, but i'm having a total mind blank at the moment X.x

True! You know I should so get a high five from Zelda and Al. Ive brought them together through comparison, so now they dont need to feel like armored loners anymore! They could be armored buddies ^O^
Strangely enough, Zelda and Al happen to be two of my most fave make believe people in this world xD
