Well, since this really doesn't have to do with horses, but it has to do with cows. I thought it would be best to post it here.... sorry if it is in the wrong place.
Anyways, where I work, which is at a little...umm...not sure what to call it, I guess a racehorse raising facility, sweatdrop my boss has some cows that eat the bad hay so it doesn't go to waste. Last year he bought a bull, and through the course of late November/early December, the six heifers had babies. They're so cute and fun to watch! Most of the heifers are as wild as can be, and the only one that I can actually pet is the baby that was born last year. We didn't even know that one of the cows were pregnant when my boss bought them, so I guess she was a surprise.
A couple of days ago, my mom and I bought horse cookies with molasses, oats, etc. in them and we kind of bought them as a christmas present for our two horses, Player and Dixie. Well on Friday afternoon, I finished my work and went over to the cows to see if I could get any babies to actually come up to me. They would on come up so much and then run off to their mommies. Then I remembered that I had some of those horse cookies in the truck and grabbed a couple. I sat by the fencing that enclosed the cows and extended my hand out with a cookie in the palm of my hand. To my surprise, two of the heifers came up. The more dominant of the two, sniffed the cookie for a few moments and then she licked it. A few seconds later she gobbled up the cookie. I offered the other heifer a cookie and she ate it too. After that it was time for me to go home.
Yesterday, my boss went out of town to watch his horses in training. So, my mother and I had to feed and water the cows. So I was standing there watching the water troft fill up and I see that dominant heifer that ate one of the cookies yesterday come up to me. She looks at me and then starts sniffing my hand, which was on the rail. Then to my surprise she starts licking my hand looking for one of the cookies. So, then I decided to go grab a small handful of cookies for her and possibly give the other cows some. I give her one and I noticed that a few other cows were taking an interest to what she was eating. I offered the bull a cookie and he was actually considering to eat it. Then out of no where that same heifer mowed him over and trying to get the cookie. I decided to give her another one and that would be all the cookies that I was giving out today. So I sat the rest down on an upside-down troft that was away from the cows and when I was done feeding the cows, I was going to give a couple to Player and Dixie.
My mother started to feed the cows their hay and then that same heifer was searching her for a cookie. So my mother gave her a cookie and the heifer was looking at us and drooling. She probably expected another one. She then decided to attend to her calf and eat hay. Thank goodness.
Today, since it is my day off because it's Sunday and it's Christmas, I won't be surprised if she would be bumming my boss today and possibly his daughter.
So, thanks to me, we have a cookie monster. sweatdrop

The cow that likes cookies. xB Lets just hope that heifer doesn't get aggresive(sp?) cause of the cookies! d:

HEHE! My horse is named Cookie and we call her the Cookie monster, funny tie-in. ^.^
