Keeli Still Loves Muse

PostPosted: Wed Mar 10, 2010 9:28 pm

I'm doing a paper on the 3 part symphony. I want to know how you all think and feel about each part to the song. Keep in mind the meaning of Exogenesis. I am very interested in what you all have to say. Also, tell me what kind of feeling you get from the music [minus the lyrics] and them tell me how you think it related to the lyrics. heart

I had to incorrectly poll.

I love 1 and 2 equally. 3 is good. But 1 and 2 are perfect.

The former (1 and 2) make me cry. Like, they make me really feel. D: I can't really explain what they make me feel - because I've sort of associated them to certain experiences, and I don't want to explain said experiences, lest I be here all day. mrgreen But, they make me feel really empowered. Like, full of emotion. It's not joyful emotion though. It's partly, most likely, because I suffer from depression - so things that move me often do so in a negative way. However, I must say, the solo in P2, at about 3 minutes, actually makes me feel elated - really happy. I think the key there is who I associate the song with.

Part 3 doesn't really make me feel much, either way. It's a lovely song, but it doesn't move me. Maybe it calms me, in fact.

Part 1 is definitely the big tear-jerker for me. All of that build up...and Matt's voice is what does it. I've listened to them instrumentally, and they don't have half the impact. His voice as he says 'overture'...that entire passage, it's just so...sad. Beautiful. Like he's singing for some sort of salvation. When I listen to them, I tend not to focus on what is being said, but more, how. Like, treating the voice as a separate musical entity.

I don't really know what the meaning is behind the song - I haven't been sluething around Muse news for a long time to find out...and I haven't read many articles in the last few years.

Edit: Woah, dude. I must have had a seriously damaging, and moving day. Exo is making me cry again.

...I can't work out if it's sad tears, regarding my grades; or happy tears, after seeing the finale of Monk. mrgreen Maybe it's both. cool

Part Three and Part Four.
Part Four I love because it's different. For one thing, it's sung by Dom. Second thing, it has swearing in. And I love Part Four because it's not too long, loud or dull. The piano justs contrasts so well with the violin.
I DON'T CARE! I KNOW IT WAS A JOKE! IT'S STILL AWESOME!

Part Three, I like the calm of it. How it just seems so peacful, yet so 'busy'.

Part Two is just a bit loud for a Symphony.

The Symphonies are about the apocalyspe. Overtue - About the last of Humanity looking for a new planet to live on. Cross-Pollination, about finding the new planet (I think). Redemption - The realisation that it will all happen over again. Salvation (Part Four) - I really don't know.
