Appearance: Aleda is a cute looking girl. Her eyes and hair appear to be the same dark brown, but a closer inspection of her eyes reveals that they are flecked with gray. She has a slight build, uncommon of most children, though her hands and fingers are round and pudgy. Her clothing tends to be hand-me-downs and hang too loosely around her frame. Her hair is well cared for, fashioned differently everyday. When playing, her hair has a habit of flying away from her hair in fluffy strands. She appears to have a thick hair of head, but in reality her hair is rather thin, dry, and fragile.
Personality: Aleda is quiet around adults, though she will be bold enough to go and sit between them at gathers and meals. She has not had much opportunity to be around dragons, but she will look upon them with quiet interest when she sees them from a distance. She does not often talk about it, but she has the intention of standing on the sands when she is old enough, if she is actually allowed to.
Her personality is very different around children and younger teens. It is with this crowd that her true personality shines through. She is bright and cheerful, enjoying running up to people and shooting off rapid questions to them. She is curious about others and also enjoys talking to herself. Aleda has a habit of talking loudly and asking "Huh?" and "What?" prompting others to repeat whatever they just said.
She also has a habit of shadowing others, especially if they have something of interest (like firelizards) with them. She is also extremely naive and on the slower side. She does not have the ability to read and her counting skills are rather poor. She does however, have the ability to retain information rather well. She knows all the traditional songs of Pern very well, though she is tone deaf and can't hold a note.
History: Aleda was born in Telgar Weyr, though there is no clear cut distinction as to who her actual parents are. The only real knowledge anyone has about this child's family life is that one, or both of her parents are riders. She lives in the lower caverns and can be seen with various foster parents. It seems that she has no real connection with anyone other than children her own age. She is a solitary figure in the lower caverns, though she seems rather content with her life as it is.
In the turn before, the plague struck Telgar hard and fast. Aleda was one of many children affected by the disease. Though she recovered, she was left partially deaf. Due to her reduction in hearing, she began talking louder than was acceptable (which irritated many, though they tried their best to cope knowing the child's predicament) and needed things repeated to her time and time again. Her balance was also terribly thrown off and for the longest time she could hardly walk down a passage without falling at least once.
She recovered from her balance issues but her hearing has not gotten much better. She copes though, especially with children who have a habit of talking loudly and shouting when they are enjoying themselves. She is especially fond of the game "Dragons vs. Thread" created by the Weyrbrat Favian, two years her senior. She has not played with Favian in over two turns, since the boy seems to have vanished from playing games.
