Daimhin prowled through the early morning mist. He had left his mate Terra behind for this particular jaunt. Though he quite enjoyed his time spent with his partner in crime, sometimes being alone had its allure.

He hadn't seen anything particularly interesting yet. He had spooked some deer from where they had been feeding just earlier. Not unusual.

What he hoped to see was a lone foal, or perhaps an unwatched basket. He itched for some trouble-making and finding some more minions to subvert was a longstanding goal of his. Maybe, on this misty morning, he'd finally have luck...

Abloec had wandered out to try and find something more tasty than old grass to eat. Not that he was fussy but he really missed the sweeter tasting things. Looking longingly at the budding cherry tree. Sighing and wandering along to another part of the forest.

Not prone to minding his surroundings much, mostly as he doubted many would be around at this time of the day, so he was enjoying the quiet, minding his own business as he noses along the ground wondering where might be better to try looking. But he wasn't in a hurry.

Stalking around a group of tall bushes, Daimhin almost ran into the green stallion on the other side. "Hey. Watch where you're going," he growled. It didn't matter that the stallion had been there before him. Daimhin didn't like people in his way no matter whose fault it was.

Without waiting for a response, Daimhin continued ahead, stomping the first few paces to let the other guy know just how irritated he was.

And then he stopped. That stallion... is he? He turned around again and stared at the stallion. Could he be one of the soquili that Daimhin had been looking for?

Blinking as the other stallion stalked off in a bad mood. Shaking his head and wandering off round the bushes, deciding to try a different place so he wasn't in the way of grumpy stallions. Wondering what had the grey male in such a bad mood.

Paying the grey male no other thoughts as he wandered on to another small glade, resuming his grazing, not letting anything put a damper on his day.

Daimhin looked over the stallion, carefully taking in his features. Seemingly, he could be nothing but a halfbreed kalona. He had the horns but not much else remained of that ancestry. Daimhin, however, recognized him for being something beyond that... something that Daimhin had searched for and badly wanted up until now.

Daimhin inwardly cursed his luck that Terra wasn't here for this moment. She'd be a great help in the next part of this newly acquired mission. He'd have to do it himself instead.... and to do that, he'd have to be a little sneaky.

Carefully he composed his expression and brought a smile onto his face. If the smile wasn't entirely honest it was at least better than his previous surly look. He walked back towards the green stallion and did his best to look anything but maniacal and menacing.

"Excuse me..." he said as he approached. "I'm sorry about that. I have a sore hoof, you see. It makes me a bit... twitchy."

Looking up Abloec smiles back, there something slightly off about the smile but then if the stallion was in pain like he said that might account for it. "Its ok, a sore hoof can be a nightmare, you would probably be happyer if you had stayed home and rested it." His smile genuinely friendly, the grey stallions turn around after his rudeness a nice surprise for the morning. And he could relate to being in a bad mood, the cold of the winter had definately soured his mood, he had missed the heat of his desert home.

"I'm Abloec and I hope your hoof gets better soon." Not sure what else to say, smiling at the other male, having all day, though he doubted the other wanted that long.

Daimhin's mind raced. He wanted nothing more than to catch the stallion for himself and his mate... but how to do it? He needed to come up with a plan and he needed one fast. He could already see the dubious look on the stallion's face. This one was clever.

An idea sprang to mind. Suddenly, he let one of his legs buckle as if he had taken a wrong step and he staggered forward on the other three. He cried out in pain and lifted one of his front hooves high in the ground, holding it tenderly in the air.

"There it is!" he gasped. Daimhin prided himself on his acting ability but knew it wasn't perfect. He just hoped he could convey enough of a sense of pain to convince the stallion of his sincerity. "It has been hurting more and more, but this is even worse." He gritted his teeth and gave a mock wince of pain as he set the hoof down on the ground again. "I can barely walk!" He drew the hoof up quickly again. Would the stallion be as helpful as he hoped?

Watching and listening quietly, his head tilted slightly to the side, His expression showing concern and sympathy as the other stallion seems to be in a great deal of pain. Though in the back of his mind something was niggling at Abloec, though he wasn't paying any real attention to it. After all if he had been he might have found the other stallions sudden and seemingly excrutiating pain more suspicious than he did.

Moving over closer to try and peer at the hoof in question. "Maybe you have a thorn or a bit of twig caught in it?" Tossing out suggestions of what it might be, his mind trying to rationalise why it would have gotten suddenly so much worse. But then he didn't know that anyone was trying to catch him, let alone that another soquili would want to.

"No, not a thorn," Daimhin grunted, keeping up the feigned pain. "It's hurt like this from time to time since I was a foal." He congratulated himself internally for coming up with a story so quickly. "It just hurts from time to time... but today is especially strong."

He took a few halting and lurching steps, making sure to wince as he did so. "I don't know if I'll be able to make it home like this tonight... and my mate and foals are waiting. Do you think you could help me?" Daimhin hoped that the stallion would fall for it. If he could get the stallion to get himself to the cave that Daimhin wanted to keep him in it would simplify matters greatly. If he didn't... Daimhin would just have to try to kick him in the head the next time he came close enough.

Frowning slightly as he runs more ideas through his head, not sure what else it could be. Though the stallion seemed to be sure he hadn't stepped on something. Straightening back up, if it was a childhood injury or some such that kept returning then there was nothing he could do.

Something was still niggling about all this, but nothing that he could get a solid grip on. The stallion wanted help and Abloec was too good natured to ignore such a thing just because something felt wrong. Nodding after pondering for a moment. "I can help you home." Summoning his smile and nodding again, though his smile wasn't as sure as it had been, but he was going to help anyway.

Victory was in sight! Only the most careful of control kept the glee from reaching Daimhin's face. Instead he took another few steps before lurching to a stop. "Will you let me lean on you a little?" He looked down at his hoof with as much dismay as he could muster.

"You are too kind," he added. "There are too few charitable soquili left in the world." And there would be one fewer once he had captured this fellow! The first in his collection... Daimhin could hardly wait! He only hoped that Terra would be prepared to assist him when he arrived with his prey.

Having taken a few steps to follow the injured soquili, Ab too stopped when he did, looking to the hoof in question. "I guess so..." Not having been asked to act as another's crutch before but he was fine with that and moved up to the side with the injured foot and moved closer till his side was to the other stallions. "I'm not sure how to do this.." Giving a warning as this could go terribly wrong. Inwardly hoping that his bad luck didn't make him clutz out and hurt the stallion more than he already was, but this kind of thing was a recipe for disaster. "Ok here we go..." Giving fair warning before even thinking of taking a step, moving at a very slow walk trying to work out how best to act as a crutch.

Just as his partner wasn't quite sure how to act like a crutch, Daimhin wasn't quite sure how to use a soquili crutch. He leaned against the green pokesoq and did his best to shuffle along and use his "injured" hoof as little as possible. So far so good it seemed. If the other soquili had caught on to Daimhin's deception he didn't show any signs of it.

"Ah, thank you," he said as he hobbled along. "My name is Daimhin." It couldn't hurt to give him his real name. Daimhin wasn't even sure that he could keep a false identity straight if he tried to invent one. He was excellent and putting together complex plans but it was the small details that tripped him up the most often. "My home isn't too far from here," he explained. "So I won't have to borrow you all day." No, he wouldn't. If Daimhin had his way he'd be "borrowing" the pokesoq for much longer than that!
